I was master doc/master cm/4-2-2-4 in marksmen about a year ago with my other char and I was wondering if now is a bad time to pick up CM with all the nerfs that took place, I haven't pvped in awhile so I'm not sure what the changes did but from the looks of this forum you guys got hit hard

probably a good time to wait and see what comes down the pike with this patch. if the area heals get toned down a good bit it might not suck. if not, it has sucked pretty bad, lol.

but i would not jump in expecting them to do the right thing...

no, wait, i saw this game... "pong" i think it was called. it was really easy to understand! maybe you could make swg more like pong! think of it! fast paced action! iconic characters! MORE FUN!

After the nerfs is the best time to pick up a profession.. you don't have to 'unlearn' anything..

So why the hell are they always getting themselves into flame wars??

CM has survived through a long line of nerfs. Though this has been a devistating blow, we are still here.

Combat Medic is good support profession...we all know that the nerf was coming for pvp. CM was neverintended to be anything more then support...Some would like it to be an elite profession, but that was not the intentions of the Devs...now if you wannacomplain about theamount ofcredits for the professionthat’s another matter.

Correction. CMs have been asking the combat vs support question since day one. The only answer be ever got besides "What do you want the profession to be?" Was that CM is whatever you make of it....medics with a little offense, or combatants with a little healing. It was TH's response to the CM question of the 19 questions a few weeks back.

what would you CM's say to CM/Rifleman VS PVE ?

I am currently working on Rifleman, and am considering going CM or DOC.
I know that Rifleman in PVE isnt as hot as some other Profs, but would CM make a BIG difference?

I am particularly thinking about the DWB and the Corvette with this post. thnx

For PvE I would choose CM if you usually group with others. If you are usually solo, Doc is better.

So if your solo, CM will not do much for you. You can’t heal your own mind and there is no need for ranged or AoE heals. By going Doctor, you can also cure and buff yourself.

In groups, CM is much better than MD. AoE heals rule over Doctor and Mind Heal is awesome when things go wrong.

Poisons just don’t work well in PvE. Weaker mobs die before they can set in and tougher mobs don’t even notice. I have yet to find anything in-between. I’m sure it helps, but it is way insignificant compared to what the melee and ranged weapons do.

It is still a great profession. The nerfs didn’t hit PvE CMs too hard. Things are pretty much the same for me as before the nerfs.

Vette assasination missions.. yes.. the target has 80% across the board to all damage types IIRC.. and heavy armor (need AP3).. poison on the other hand works very well on them.. especially when you go prepared and stack a full line.. Single C, Area C, Single B, Area B, Single A, Area A.. (some might say foget the Area B and both A's.. but *shrug.. if you've go the mind and your tank is doing ok.. might as well toss them on.. they certainly won't reduce your DPS)..

and if you want to get really nasty.. grab some base spider venom and some base rancor when you make all 6 of those.. get that extra punch.. (95 total power = Spider Venom 90 + rancor bile 5.. compared to 60ish from AIA's.. and have 70 charges per from the bile) tune them down to 120 potency and max effectiveness.. should land some pretty decent damage (same theory applies to krayts as i recall)..

as for which poison to use in PVE.. i use health poisons almost exclusively for PVE.. that's where most of the damage tends to go in groups.. unless your group is 2 CM's 2 swordsmen 4 riflemen and a doc or somthing similarly mind pool oriented..

as for DWB.. i can't really say.. friends and i haven't gotten too far in.. and most of what i've seen there is robots which are immune to poison..

but in both cases.. extra health/action heals are great.. and mindheal is invaluable..

<< Medics with a little offense, or combatants with a little healing >>ith a little offense, or combatants with a little healing.

I'm fine with Thurderheart's response, but basically he answered what I was trying to convey.

Combat Medic is what ever you want it to be, despite It's low offensecompared to an elite combat profession...hence the reason why I said CM is a great support profession.

I disagree strongly about CM + profession is not good for pve...I will repeat, CM + melee profession is an awesome combination...even raveling CM + range.
