TH recently posted this stating that the Correspondents would be choosing 5 members from their community to bring onto the 'sandbox' to test out the Combat Revamp.(He also asked for a profession 'Top 5' issues list. I'll be getting to that later tonight)
We have no timeframe when the sandbox will go live as of yet, I will update when I find out.
With that in mind, I'd like to open the slots up for anyone who wants it. This will be serious, focused testing. If you will have the time to commit to in-depth testing of the Combat Revamp as it relates to the Combat Medic profession, please PM me.
Include the following in the PM: Character Name, Server, How long you've been a CM, if you believe we are to be COMBAT Medics or Combat MEDICS, Your number 1 problem with the profession.
To Note: I will reserve one slot for Pahdbacca(if he wants it) due to the fact he was the CM Corre before me.

When is the summit by the way? I am guessing you guys will get some good info there on what their intentions are and how far they are willing to go with the revamp.

End of August, Griggs
And if you want in, PM me with the info above. I'll make the selections probably at the beginning of September.

Of course I would help Texxie, and thank you very much for the offer. I hope to do the rest of you good.
As a little sidetrack....You and 5 others? Should be plan something along the ways of 2 CMs with Doc skills, 2 cms with ranged skills and 2 CMs with melee skills? Just curious.
Edit: My biggest beef with CM right now is the fact that Doctors have more to do with battlefield medicine than CMs do, and CMs pay the higher skill point cost to master. CMs need more skills that are needed in battle or their skillpoint cost reduced, if not both.

Would probably be the best idea. Not sure how the devs are going to handle this, really. They might do character copies of our live characters, or supply us with advancement as they do on TC2 with the blue frog things.
But two MCM/MDs, two MCM/Ranged and two MCM/Melee sounds like a good plan to me.
I'll take one of the MCM/MD slots, and leave the rest up to those that get picked

I would agree - test how CM works with different templates in the new system.

I sent a pm, but I never trust those. I am available, and would be pleased to assist. If you select me, I will give this my first priority for my play time. I will strive to help make the CM's role in combat significant and balanced... and fun!

How long you've been a CM:
It is my first elite profession. Probably since about mid-August, 2003. I have been a CM ever since. I was also a Master Doc, and a Master Carbineer, so I would be happy enough to provide testing in ranged or healing combinations with CM.

if you believe we are to be COMBAT Medics or Combat MEDICS:
We should beable to be BOTH, i.e. COMBAT MEDIC!: the individual should have adequate healing and offensive capabilities at hand to allow them to fill either or both roles well in a given combat situation. I have personally filled both roles in actual game play. While I like the support/healing role best for my play style, part of what drew me to combat medic was the support/offensive OPTION it opened up. I see the Combat Medic as a great equilizer in combat, giving smaller units an edge in a fire fight.

Your number 1 problem with the profession:
We are inadequately equipped to heal or attack at present. Our profession is eclipsed by others in both "combat" and "medicine" on the battlefield. We do not have the range or potency of skills to allow us to lend significant influence in a fire fight, much less place CM at the forefront of battlefield healing or chemical weapons fire support.

We do not have the range or potency of skills to allow us to lend significant influence in a fire fight, much less place CM at the forefront of battlefield healing or chemical weapons fire support.
We should have the skill set to provide timely in-combat ranged/area healing in most (preferably ALL) combat induced injury situations, including death. We should be the premier battlefield healers. Other, novel ideas, such as ranged in-combat buffs, de-buffs, improved versions of mind healing, etc. should be explored, as well.
And
We should have effective, potent offensive weapons that require significant preparation to mitigate, require significant preparation and resources to correct, and/or produce high levels of damage in the unprepared opponent. This is really no different than any other combat profession should expect. Effective, balanced weapons.
Thank you for your consideration,

on that note.. vortexala... any chance you could just fire off simple 'received' reply to all submissions so we know you got it?

Well if I weren't a single dad I'd definitely apply. Good luck to those who are in on this and I desperately hope you will be heard!
