Combat Medic Archive
Thread: Okay, let me say something that you should hear if you PvP.
Actually, if you're TKA you can cure your poison/disease. I'm TKM and I can cure any DoTs, at least on myself.

You cant cure yourself in battle with just TKM. I think that the point is that poisons and diseases are too strong and they can be hurled over walls. I know that grenades suck, but if a disease or poison can be hurled over a wall, a grenade should also be able to. Unfortunatly a commando must be close to his attacker to even hit him with the grenade. I have also see CMs hurl their poisons and disease from long beyond 60m. This, along with the high strengths of poison and disease are what make the combat medic too powerfull/unbalanced. I dont think that they should be nerfed, but I do think that there needs to be a balance.

You don't have to be a master doctor, at 4/4/4/0 with a +25 wound treament clothing, you can cure up to 1000 tick of poison in one shot with high quality Cure Poison C packs. That statistics has been proven and tested.
That deep into doc, you might as well master though.

Dude, that's not damn solution that if you can't heal it your a liability. Thats like the nation of US saying that if you get killed, its not murder because if you can't defend yourself you are a liability? Please.
The point of this post was not to defend CM on the basis that everyone is free to get doctor.
The point of this post was to emphasize the fact that if you want to survive in this game as it exists right now, your inability to cure poison/disease thus becomes a liability.
Your example is an incorrect simile. Not just because it doesn't relate to the intent of the post, but because you badly thought out your example in the first place. People doing nothing to anybody else sitting quietly in they're home do not become a liability because they can be killed and not do anything about it. They become a liability when they are important to some function, and as such can't defend themselves and that function.
I think this is completely untrue. I roll with MANY PvPers who cannot heal themselves AT ALL, and I would much rather have them there than not.
Your statement is an exageration, though in SOLO PvP, your statement has some small merit.

True, true. I am speaking from a purely theortical point of view (oh wait no I'm not) that the best groups are those who are well coordinated and have a diversity of characters. Sure a commando by themselves suck in PvP but heck you stack flame 2 with poisons and a carbineer shooting everything in sight and I don't care the enemy is going down fast. Also if the first group has a doc to keep them healthy they are one kick arse group. The four of them will be stacking dots, knocking down, dizzying and the whole time the doc should be able to keep them alive while the CM keeps the mind going. Heck it could be a CM/Doc for this little party.
I love Doc atm and will keep it for a long time just to counter CMs in combat. I used to be a CM and loved that too. Kept it for 3 months and will probably return some day.

You just keep thinking of that. Bring your crew to Bloodfin. Let's see how long you last without doctor skill.
