Thread: New CU Info: Have a look at what is to come...

Health, Action, Mind pools
A character's maximum health will increase with the character's combat level up to 300%. New character health will be 1000, maxed character health will be 3000.
Players will be able to reference their combat level.
Short term buffs will modify this health value no more than 20%.
Long term buffs will modify this health value no more than 10%.
Species modifiers will affect no more than 10% of a base statistic.


Buffs The group UI will be re-worked so that you can see the buffs and de-buffs applied to other group members.


Healing/Doctor/CM Changes Medical crafting will be handled by the crafting line in Medic as well as Bio-Engineers. Doctors will have enhanced abilities that are enhanced with the use of consumables called enhancers. Enhancers are on a 1000 point scale - the higher the number the better. The quality of Enhancer charges will vary per ability. We are aiming for an average of ~20%. We are adding craftable stimulant packs (stims) that can be used by anyone. Stims are one shot consumables that require no skill boxes to use. The use of the different stims will be determined by the player’s combat level. (i.e., novice players will be able to use the lower level stims while the elite players will be able to use the higher level stims) Players will use stims by double clicking them. Each use will consume one charge. Each use has an associated cool-down time. Stims can modify your health ~10%. You can’t use your stims to heal someone else.








That's just some of the stuff that will effect the CM profession... We also have a skillpoint/pre-req change coming too.

Texxie, you saw the writing on the wall ... is that why you retired? LOL

So, umm... CM is in the title grouped with Medic and Doc...

From what I read and get from everything about the CU ... I dont care for it at all ... but cant do much with that little info

I like SWG because you can play simple or really dig into profs, macros etc ... I am not interested in playing WoW or EQ with Star Wars Art.

Fix the few probs and add content and SWG is golden. It already blows other games away. Make these changes on a new server and offer to move poeples toons there ... see what one floats after a while or make a new game all together.

I didnt spend close to 2 years building what I have, having a blast doing so to not say anything.....

When do we find out more info?

I am kind of wary with that "cool down time" thing. I understand a little pause between throwing poisons, but heals are often times needed hot and heavy and fast, especially on the vette or in the dwb. Its kind of senseless to discuss a whole lot here about the tiny morsel that was posted. I have ready through all 30+ pages so far about the CU document and dont really know what to think at this point. I just want more information period before further discussion. Testing needs to get going for our sand boxers and beta people, May 5th is too short a deadline. Looks like they will feed us what they want and we have to like it b/c that time frame wont allow too much of our "feedback" changes.

Dunno....however on the face of things I don't think that a Master CM is gonna be hit too much by this cool down time.


I would think that Medics and Docs would have longer cool down times but ours should stay pretty much as they are.


However this whole crafting line bit is completely ocnfusing to me.

Are they gonna remove crafting trees from Doc and CM? Interesting. If so, what do we get in exchange?

Can not really discuss my opinion over the boards, I will have to spend 30 minutes editing as certain words will be "rejected" from posting. Lets just say I am considering canceling my account if they nerf CM.

Actually, I retired because of RL taking a bigger chunk of my time. I'm getting married and have been spending a lot more time in RL then around these parts, so I figured it was time to let someone else take over



As for what this means, well...it isn't much info for you all to base judgements off of. But, if you read closely, you can infer a hell of a lot of info out of it(lord knows I would've even if I didn't already know). There is supposedly going to be more info posted "soon" with more details. Hopefully at that time a lot of you will get the info you need to make a more informed judgement...



....but those of you who really know how to read between the lines, please feel free to do so

Hey Congrats best 3 things that happened to me is my wife and 2 kids... hope the same for you (but not all at once LOL)

Oops ... on topic ..... It kinda blows they dont give a more info .... if its not in beta (or alpha) why even say anything?

The prereq / skill point cost changes have me more concerned. I don't see them dropping master medic as a prereq for CM, and as it stands we can only master one of three ranged professions in addition to CM. If the skill point cost of each box goes up at all, how are we going to maintain mastery of CM and even a single combat mastery?

Of course with no alpha testing so far and no planned beta testing do you really think it will work? I see it having a TON of problems and we'll spend the next couple of months afterwards finding exploits and errors that should have been taken care of before it went live.
