Thread: Okay people, please read this message and flame me
Okay, couple items I want to address here.
1. I'm tired of ungrateful people bashing Zalor and Kavedawg for their tireless effort as a correspondent for us. Unless you submitted your name as a volunteer for CM position, moved yourself from your existing server and on to the test server, read majority of the messages here and responding to them. Youwill notmake any derogatory remarks against either of them.
I've reading post on this board since beginning and started to contribute after I finished my hectic project. Where were you when the CM Correspondent went AWAL? I didn't see anyone step in to relay our problems to the Developers except for Zalor. All you're doing is reaping the reward of those who paved the road before you. And I noticed most of those that are complaining the loudest are newer CMs that have gotten used to the luxury of their potent poison. Where were any of you when the poison C did only 150 points of damage?
I didn't volunteer for the corespondent position because I knew ahead of time this will be a demanding position which requires many, many hours on the forum and in the test center. Time is a luxury I don't have therefore I stayed on my home server while KaveDawg volunteered for the position. Let me just say that majority of the corespondent does not play fulltime on Test Center and therefore does not have indepth knowledge and up-to-date information that Kavedawg is providing. And if you think you can do a better job, get out of your server and get on test server first.
2. This +1 HAM for DoT is going to be a change, not just for us but for all other combat professions that uses DoT. Granted that this is our most potent and leathal weapon and most of us, myself included, rely on this almost 100%. I'm heavily involved with PvP on my server and I will be the first one to tell you that I'm not happy with this implementation, however, as a player, you will learn to adapt and overcome obsticles. Instead of wasting your energy on the forum assigning blames, try to formulate some stradegy to overcome this.
Personally speaking, ifallDoT stops at +1, I think CM will be in better shape than any other profession since we can heal bothHealth and Action effectively whileonly1 profession,TKM, is able to overcome our potent mind poison, even then they must exit combat to preformmeditation. Doctor is a non-factor since their mind will be wasted by the time they can counter act the even more effective and potent poison which we will have. Not to mention we will have another weapon in our arsenal, Area Disease. This will definitely reign terror on our enemy especially when Decay Rule come into affect. You will no longer carelessly DB your commarad to get rid of that poison or disease.
So, people, let's sit down and look at all aspect of this before jumping into conclusion or jumping off the Combat Medic profession. You'll see the light, mark my words.

That's to put it mildly.
I think that the people trying to blame Kave and Zarlor for the changes are the extreme minority.
/agreed
i think of kavedawg as a friend and i dont even know him, im soooooooooooooo glad he is our correspondant, and we get so much more attention now
yay for kavedawg

Correspondents are here to bridge the gap between the thousands of opinions of the players and hard numbers the devs use. When the correspondents ignore (or defy) what the majority are saying then they aren't doing the job they are supposed to be doing.Fair or not, deserved or not.. They took a beating for appearing to take the wrong side.
Reachwind,
Could you quote me a thread within any messages thatKavedawg isclearly ignoring and defying us? From what I've read, Kavedawg has simply relayed the changes to us and stated his opinion on the change. He supports the change but he speaks as a player, not as a correpondent for all of us.
Here is a short synopsis of the situation:
1. Poison/Disease attacks have a couple underlying problems, such as not being able to loot, no FP/XP, etc.
2. COMMUNITY MEMBERS (not Kave or Zarlor) started throwing around ideas on how to work around it. Stopping at +1 was just ONE of the ideas people came up with.
3. Kave tookthe suggestions and posted them to the correspondant forum. THE DEVS (not Kave of Zarlor) chose to work on the stop at +1 idea. The devs put it on TC and people started going insane.
4. Some fool decided that it was ALL 100% Kaves and Zarlorsfault, though he is not in anyway part of the Dev team, just because he is the one that took the idea to the Devs (well duh, thats his freakin job as correspondant)
This change benefits DOCTORS most and does NOT benefit CM - therefore in my opinion (and I am not alone as you can see from posts) - this change should've been opposed by CM corresponded.

This change was proposed by DOCTOR corresponded (I can dig up the first post it appeared in). At the time I posted several reasons why I think it's bad (and some of those summed up nicely in another post here, and I added a fe more points).

Hmm, I don't see how this change will benefit the doctor when they will have no mind left to heal the ever more potent and effective poison. If they're in the combat, they'll get tagged by my area poison as well, and if they're not in the combat and heal the individual, then they'll have TEF and they'll be tagged thereafter. It really doesn't matter if they're active or not during this confrontation.
One thing I do want to bring out is that we need to have that extra 10% effectiveness as soon as possible and it should be place in the Master Combat Medic skill box. But I'll create a separate post about this.
Quit crying, or quit CM. I for one welcome the changes. Will it make my life harder? Hell yeah, who said that combat was easy. If you want easy kills and mindless battle, go roll a commando. The change DOES infact help CMs. How many times have you poisoned someones mind (especially a Dr) and seen them get healed in one shot? I am MCM/MDR and I can tell you that even with my best cure poison C packs it takes 2-5 shots for a deacent poison to get healed. With access to ARCs on the way, how much nicer are your poisons going to be? Even with 2k mind a new poison doing approximately 700-1k per tic, how many tries do you think I can get in before I am removed from healing other people, let alone myself? If anything It should be seen as a balance. Crying because you can't kill a crowd of people on your own while you are incapped or dead yourself only draws away from your argument. Try again.
