Thread: Bi-Weekly Question: What should we ask next?

Alright folks, figured maybe we should try getting our next question ready a bit earlier then our last one.

So, what question would you like to ask the Devs? Want to know what's in store for us? Want to know if this or that bug/issue is going to be fixed?

What do You want me to ask?

How about.....Will Diseases ever be worth anything except to grief someone or to make sure you can get them to do the incap dance?

They fixed the incap dance by limiting poisons to a +1 and not letting the poisons incap however if I hit you with a poison and a disease you WILL once again do the incap dance until you have your 3 incap death.

So I ask diseases themselves aren't worth the resources that go into making them. However, People use them to make people incap. So, I guess my question is 2 fold:

#1 Are they going to fix this NEW dance that is being created by a disease and a poison being on the same target?

#2 Are they going to actually make deseases worth the resources that are used to make them?

For the 228 resources that it takes to make 1 class C disease I would hope to get more then 100 wounds per 40 seconds seeing that 90% of the time you can get a disease off of you in 40 seconds.

More damage?

Faster tick?

Personally I'd be all for the removal of diseases all together triple the damage that posions do and give the CMs poison the 75% reduction in PvP and instead of the damage totaling every 10 seconds take the damage that would be shown every 10 seconds and divide by 10 and do it every second.

Meaning that if my poison ticks for 400 every 10 seconds let it tick for 40 every second.

By doing this people will see how little damage CM's poisons actually do. And by increasing the damage of our poisons and adding the 75% reduction you will slightly lower the damage our poisons in PvP at the same time in PvE our poisons will actually be worth something.

Honestly with a Dark Jedi Master having 300k HAM my 400 point a tick poison means squat.

That was really a suggestion more than a question But it was valid.

What I'd like to know though is what the devs vision for us really is.

Can we get a definite answer about wether we are "combat MEDICS" or "COMBAT medics". Are we supposed to be damage dealers, which the ammount of agressive schematics we are given over the ammount of healing schematics do suggest.
Or are we supposed to be a "support" (as in "supporting the total domination of defense stackers") profession?

Are we supposed to be very deadly in PvP but ineffective in PvE?

BTW Yes it is true, I've tested it myself, poison only ticks once every TEN seconds!

Usually I'd steer you away from the big questions like that, in hopes of getting a solid answer on something else, but if this one gets the most support I'll gladly ask it

I would prefer to ask "are there any plans for adding new content to combat medics, such as a limited use schematic for poison D's, or innoculations, a poison launching gun, or some other items."

The "are we *combat* medics, or are we combat *medics*" question is good too though. I guess maybe vote .75 for my first question, and .25 for the second. Just be sure to word it in a way that is very unambiguous. For example, I can imagine them saying "you are *combat* medics, since you do medical stuff in combat..."

Now let's see if the devs can give us a straight answer this time, rather than ignoring (the interesting/important) half of the question.

Ah yes... I agree that the wording *has* to be very precise and clear if we ask that particular question. Since Texxie started with lots of time to spare I suggest we put a closing date on decision so that we might have a day or two of tweaking the question if it comes to that.

I would go insane if the question was being waste on an answer like "you are *combat* medics, since you do medical stuff in combat..."

Alright, what say we put an end date of voting for this Friday, and have the weekend for question tweaking?

Ah, well I vote for my question then

It wasn't a suggestion there are actually 2 questions in the post that I made. I just offered suggestions to answer my questions. Just ideas. But the questions that are there are still valid.

I do like your question though and will vote for it ONLY and ONLY IF the wording is precise like a post earlier said. The only reason i say this is because this question has been asked twice before. and BOTH times we have been given a grey wishy washy answer.

I don't vote for the new abilities though. I would hope that they can fix the ones we have already before they give us anything else.

AAAA no offense meant to anyone, but the COMBAT medic/combat MEDIC question is a waste of a question, as it's only point is to try and silence whiners. If they bug you that much, dont read this forum..

The answer no matter which side they support will only increase the whining, not decrease it...

Question:

What is the dev's "vision" for disease? As it stands now, it is only a method of incapping someone in pvp, and is completely useless in pve..

I definately think asking for the dev's "vision" of CM would be a waste of question.

On Gary Gattis's State of the Game Letter

http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony.com/team_comments.jsp?page=Team%20Comments

He already stated that

"...We are cranking on the Combat Balance, and we think development on it will span 2 more publishes. This is an extremely sweeping and in-depth overhaul that will include the HAM revamp, speed formulas, weapon balances, weapon certifications, weapon stats, profession roles and balances, specials, armor balances, DoT balances, and buff balances. Obviously we want to get this right, so we are taking the time to do so...."

So I expect to hear re-phrased answer if CM's role question is asked.

I would much rather ask question like would CM get replacement skill for now useless skills like TN or Mind Heal when mind is no longer special HAM or some other question that can't be answered with just re-worded "wait for combat balance"
