Thread: I believe THIS settles the whole mind-healing debate once and for all
This is a quote from a post from Q I found in the dev tracker board.

Instead, pets will suffer stat-reduction in situations where they would have been deathblowed. Some mechanism of 'curing' that stat reduction will be given to bio-engineers, along with a pet-only stim-back to heal pet health, action and mind damage (so CHs don't all have to be medics, too)."

See if you can find the tip-off that mind damage isn't the magical game-balancing stat that we're all making it out to be.
CH's can heal all three stats, (on their pets at least). Won't that make them... "unbalanced"? Heck no. it'll make them able to keep their "group" alive. The same thing we medics are trying to do.
I think the chances for us healer types to cure mind just got a LOT better.
And thank-goodness for it.
"pet-only stim-back to heal pet health, action and mind damage (so CHs don't all have to be medics, too)."
um.. we're not talking about pets. When a CH has they're pet speak it heals there mind instantly. we're talking about being able to heal pets. and Quoted those stims are PET ONLY.
I think he's trying to use that to support your cause CM.
However, when's the last time you've seen a pet being healed by a musician? Is it even possible?
doing tricks is akin to an entertainer for players, it can only heal in downtime, you can't do tricks in combat.
So a CM can not heal a pets mind pool in combat, hence they are usless if a pet gets mind incaped.
This new heal allows a pet to be healed forever given enough potential medic mind pool.
That is exactly what a CM or any medic can't do, we can't do a thing to players mind pool, thus we can sit there full on our own mind and be 100% usless to the group who are dieing to mind pool damage.
This is not healing mind damage or wounds. This is healing permanent stat loss, not that cause by black wounds. When a pet would get death blown its maximum ham (fictional numbers) is going to fall from 10,000 to 9,000 when it has 0 wounds. This bio engineer ability will give them the power to restore the maxium HAM without wounds to its previous state.
The fact is mind healing tools are in the game. And as of the recent patch they are given away per novice medic. Go get those damage stim packs.
Actually a bad item to give to a novice... makes people think all stims heal mind.

Fossi1, explain yourself please... what are these "tools" you speak of? I have heard nothing of this. If you mean those newbie stims we all got when we chose "Medic" then no, those are not quite good enough.
It sounds from Q's post that BE's will be able to craft a true pet-only-3-ham-bar stimpack. And CH's will be able to use them on pets.
I think that's all us medics have been clamoring for, a 3-bar-stimpack.
If this system works for CH's and their pets. WHY won't the same system work for us medics and our patients? If you want some other class to craft the "mind-stims" FINE, heck, let the entertainers make them for all I care.
But you have to agree that this development makes it VERY hard to say that medics would be overpowered simply by letting them heal all 3 pools. After all, now CH's can do it, why not let the true healing professions do the same?
This is a great development, I wish this had come out before the correspondents had sent in their reports. This would have been a great point to take up with the game designers.
Medics, we are almost there, the tide has turned, dev's saw that healing only 2 pools was worthless for keeping pets alive, how can they say things are different for players.
/emote sets off fireworks, dances a jig, and back-flips out of the forum.
AgallionKonrad, you are missing the point. We medics can't heal mind damage. Our stims only heal health and action. It sounds from Q's post that you'll get stims that heal all 3 pools. It's a fine point, If you haven't been following some of the medic issues you might have missed it.
Nobody minds that you can cure your pet's haM bar. We just want to be able to do the same for our groupmates.
have a nice day.

Oh Q, what have you done...
since CM now get the ability to heal their pet without taking Medic (which they all do anyway to get to BE) can Medics now please get the means to gather their own resources without taking Artisian? ![]()
and no, this does not settle the debate, since pets don't use their mindpool for anything like player do.
