Personally I think this would quiet most of the players who call for a CM nerf all the time. Just make diseases and poisons hit every second. Have a 600 per tick mind poison? Now it will hit for 80-100 per second.


I feel that the majority of the hate comes from the big hit every 8-40 seconds. Once people understoof that we actually hit for low DPS they wouldn't whine as much.


Good idea? Bad idea?

I don't know how hard this would be to implement though but it seems that it wouldn't be that hard.

DPS isn't low. 600 a tick landing on 10 people is more damage than any other class can pull off. The AE radius on CM greatly exceeds that of all other AE's. Best of all, the damage keeps going when you're dead.

If anything is changed about CM it will be the range and area affected max.


Matter of time given all the nerf whiners but the sooner the Dev's realise not everyone PvP's the better. A big change to CM to make it weaker inPvP will mean making it completely worthless in PvE.

Damn man, this is a FREAKING AWESOME idea! I mean it, man. To me, I would love to see the damage just tickin away on the bad guy, it doesn't matter how much, just as long as it's seen by other players that, yes, we don't do as much damage as everyone makes it sound like I do. I'm not the UBER 733t class of PvP, by no means. I'm just there to heal my comrades and stay alive.


BTW, TEF sucks.....had to add that, was killed by a Player that went Overt as I walked by him. I don't blame him, it is war....he was cool about it though, so I blame TEF.....NERF TEF!!!! hehehehe

Sorry, using the best, non-loot, resources I have made an Area Poison C that did 250 damage per tick. And the range on this was very low, as was the area of effect. If 10 players are all within 15m from the targeted player, without a doc, you all deserve to get hit for 40 mind damage per second. Also, if you can not kill a CM, I am very sorry. If you were killed by a CM, they most likely killed you with another skill.


Looted components can greatly increase the amount of damage. This is true. These are also very, very, very rare. Did I say rare?


One tick per second would let players clearly see what we are "capable" of.

Ohhh boy I can't wait for the NERF crys when Carbineer updates come out. Oh boy will people scream. whole groups dropping to their knees then being blinded... Ohh the Devs are gona catch hell for fixing that class. 600 a tick (it is possible with realy expensive components and no venum but not possible on all servers) Lets see your beef is that we AE not that we do lots of damage. Please make sure that you address the correct issue. If you don't like it that we AE than complain about our AE ability not that we do lots of DPS. if you have 10 people you have a combined health of say 20k and we tick every second for75 per person soour DPS to your 20k of health is 750. This gives you 26 seconds to get rid of this stuff. More than enough time to have a doc (if you only have one in a group of 10 you are a moron) heal you and or meditate it off.


This asumes 8 seconds between ticks, if it is 10 seconds between ticks you have 33 seconds.


In this time you know to spread out so that only a few of you get hit at a time, and the docs can keep up with the healing.

Kir, our PA is using non loot enhanced packs made with good resources that have AE in the 30m range, and are over 400 damage. You're certainly NOT using the best resources. The best resources you have at the moment, perhaps.

Yeah my ae packs run around 260 potency. Don't know what the actual damage is (I never cared to look) but that should be around 400 I think.

I believe all of the master Combat Classes have at least 1AOE attack. I know that pistoleer carbineer and rifleman all have the ability to attack in a cone, or in an area. Theses attacks, on average, WAY outdamage the average Poison C.

The nerf cries are for the AE poisons, not particulary the singles. It is just way too powerful in its current state. Before I dropped CM, I was able to make 235 effectiveness AE mind poison that was next to never resisted. That being said, 235 effectiveness hits for 470 damage at master.


Anyhow, to your proposal. This would make poison even that much stronger. For example, I am a master doctor. If poison ticks every second, I could literally be chain poisoned(happens now but it is doable) without any chance for survival. Yes I know I can cure just as fast as you can throw, but there is lag time, think time, peace cure time. In a battle, I really doubt I could cure myself in under 1 second unless I was just standing there waiting for it. As it is now, I can get in two cures before poison ticks. If something like this went live, I could never cure anyone but myself because CMs would spam their poison even more than they do now.


Most things in this game have a counter. CMs however do not have an effective one. It should not be forced that when pvping ever 3rd person is a Doctor or atleast has poison heal abilities to be effective. For instance, rifleman/any fighting class's damage is severly affected by blind/stun, or intimidate(TKAs hitting for 80 before armor anyone?) CMs need an effective counter, or their damage reduced. End of story.

You're not on the same server. There are some servers where the rare CM resources still haven't spawned.
