Thread: Combat Medic Template thread post CU
Hi Everyone, I need some help here.
I'm new to SWG and the community. I have my heart set on being a MCM and I'm looking for that 2nd profession. I'd like to have assault armor and some ranged options, but I dont want to play a Bounty Hunter as there are so many of them already. Is MCM and Master Commando a viable option for both PvE and PvP?
From reading the forums I think I understand that the Commando doesn't have any special attacks. Would the specials of the Combat Medic make up for this?

If this regards the MR/MCM combos...
Having used it extensively since my last post, I'd say Pistols x4x4, for sure. You get Burst Shot (a nice AoE stun) and Disarming Shot
as well as good ol' Stopping Shot--all of which rock from 65m away.
Plus you get General Ranged Accuracy Mods in the x4xx Pistol line--+40 General Ranged Accuracy is always nice to have. The xxx4 Pistol line gives you some Defense mods, and as I recall I think my melee defense is around 160 or 180 and my ranged defense is something like 220. Not fantastic, but not too shabby for a Rifleman/CM. As far as the healing goes, yea I can't heal wounds or states, but my heals are strong enough as a MCM to go toe-to-toe with full template Jedi and stay alive long enough be quite effective in a group PvP setting, and have a solidchance at winning one-on-one, depending on how your timing is alternating b/w healing and attacking. You won't be a Master Defender or MBH/Pistoleer, but you will be able to hold up to a good solid beating. Again, timing on your heals is very very key to doing well in this template. One mis-timed heal can hurt real bad.
A downside is that it's definitely a FOTM template right now. A few days ago, in a late-night PvP in Theed engagement, out of around 18 or so Imperials, 3 of them were some variant of MCM/MR/Pistols. That's a pretty high concentration if you factor in the probably 6 or 8 Jedi on our side. That means a full 3 out of 10 non-Jedi were MCM/MR's. Whether or not that matters to you is not for me to decide.
I think the combat abilities of the Pistoleer line are preferable to the additional healing of the Doc line. Your heals are good enough as just a MCM.
Ok need some opinions and thoughts..on something a little differant.. (or atleast i cant find it anywhere in threads)
I'm considering respecing from mycurrent template of MBH,MCM,0400 Carb to.... Master Carb, Master Combat Medic, 4000BH.
any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated

Why would you want 4000 BH? Hunting jedi has been given to only MBH's now.
grown a bit tired of hunting jedi (i have one so if i want to fight them why not just use my own) but i do enjoy the new npc marks. Plus you still get the advanced duelist stance.

I can handle myself pretty well in a fight, provided I don't run out of aciton.
However, I have two problems that I'm hoping someone can address...
1) I get knocked down a lot. Even by wimpy NPCs.
2) My standard chain of comabt actions isn't set. I'm not sure what the best combo is. Usually I do something like this against players:
Underhand shot (KD)
Thyroid Rupture (-spd)
CM action regen debuff
CM fire dot
CM poison dot
Confusion shot
Electrolyte Drain
spam Body Shot/QuickDraw
I'm not a very good combat tactician, so this combo probably sucks. Please assist.
