With the long cooldown it would prevent spamming. It would actually be used as a tactic to get away or give you time to heal up. Like I said after you use it the first time to place your debuffs and dots its useless after that. They would have to allow the target to heal while paralyzed or it could be abused even with a 1min cooldown.

How can you not keep control of the group? OMG this is the most ridiculous stuff I have ever read. I am a CM and I CONTROL my group. They know who I am going to Paralyze and they don't attack them. Noone in my group is nub enough to PvP with autoattack on either. We pick our targets and chew them up. When I paralyze them they stay there. I can control a Master Defender completely until the time comes that everyone can focus on the target.


One CM can control anyone in this game until his people are ready for the knockout. Try to play the game right once and you will see this too.

Exactly! And as SOE stated Jedi should be 1.5x more powerful than any other class in the game. You are just making the point for them that CM is overpowered because you can completely control a Jedi Knight or "anyone" all by yourself. This shouldn't be possible at all if Jedi truly were 1.5x more powerful than any other profession. Not to mention, this is the "I win" button in the game right now because it is broken and doesn't break on damage, allowing you and every /respec BH in the game to exploit it like crazy.

Side note: If experienced people never group with "nubs", how do those "nubs" ever learn? Maybe you should try being a team player.

Remember damage breaks it but debuffs don't. Lead with paralyze, then apply all your debuffs, once you have the victim properly prepared I recommend a slow roasting



Oh be sure to turn off any auto attacks, so they don't go off and set your target free.

What about "improved" paralyze? As I understand it, the improved version still does not break on damage. I know that just last Sunday (after that paralyze fix patch) 2 BH's kill a friend of mine using that. They put him on the ground and took turns spamming him with paralyze (unless there is another similar ability that is also broken) so he wasn't able to stand up, fight, run, heal or anything. He just laid there on the ground and died because he couldn't do a thing, not even stand up. This happened AFTER the paralyze patch so either a version of paralyze is still broken or there is another skill that works the exact same way and is broken. I was sure I read somewhere that the improved version of paralyze is still broken and does not break on damage. I guess I'll have to respec my alt to CM tonight and test it.

Seems like the person didn't have KD recovery, or that paralize only breaks when the originator causes damage (I think not). Kind of on an off topic, I have notice that KD recovery does not always work quickly..there may be a trick to keeping your opponent down longer (dizzy?+others?)...but a few times I have read the screen message...you cannot KD Recover when Knocked Down...LMAO

No he was down for a long time. I didn't realize that I wasn't supposed to be able to heal him since I can when we are fighing normally so I was healing him. He was hitting kd recovery like crazy and couldn't get up. Eventually he did stand up and then they hit him with another kd and from that point on he was never able to get up again. He couldn't do anything at all. As a matter of fact after that second kd, I was also no longer able to heal him.

I have no idea what they were using but he is a middle skill padawan and could have either put up a very good fight or could have most definitely gotten away if he were ever able to get up off the floor. After that I checked the forums and read a lot of stuff about improved paralyze not breaking when damage is done.

As I understood it, originally all paralyze versions didn't break on damage. Then they patched it so the normal xxx2 version broke on damage but as I understand it the improved version still doesn't. I'll respec to it tonight with my alt and find out. It's possible some other skill is bugged but I haven't seen anything about any other skills like this one being bugged.

paralyze at any level, for me anyways (am a master CM), breaks when anyone does damage to it. Agree, i do that with all the beautiful animations they added for leveling, dizzy, etc. maybe a more obvious one to let your fellow group members know that the taget is paralyzed would help. LOL i keep saying "not this one guys i paralyzed it" then one huy pops a ranged shot and we are all mobbed again. but to answer you question, at least in my case, when to targets coem i paralyze one and start working onthe other. if one of the people in my group hit the paralyzed target. it breaks. that is just withme.

How long does paralyze last ?



Can you literally paralyze it , completely heal yourself , have a toilet break come back and start shooting again ?


Or is there a timer on it ?

for a master CM it lasts 15 seconds. 10 for non master. if it is working correctly when you paralyze a target you have time to heal for it will not be able to do anything as long as it is not taking damage.
