Go become the CM correspondent, Eureka. The job is open. All you need to do is apply.

I did. However, acknowledgement emails seem to be as difficult as typos.

The more I think about it the more I realize that repairing the broken schemtic is the number one priority for the Combat Medic class right now.

It isn't realistic to think that an assessment of Doctor Cures can be made when every poison created by a Combat Medic is artifically lower than it could be.

In order to run the appropriate tests, this schematic must be repaired. Perhaps a request could be made that the Developers "create" a few crates of Advanced Resilience Compound to be used on the Test Server while they repair the root problem.

Otherwise, making secondary changes to the Combat Medic class or other classes based on a deflated level of effectiveness would be out of order and counter-productive to optimal class tuning.

Of course, the first step to implementing any change is to complete the selection process for the Combat Medic Correspondent.

Sekir:

"And it should not come as a surprise either, what happens is that issues like that gets resolved real fast on the grounds of "well even if combat medics themself said it's a big deal then it must be", whereas it's just a misrepresentation and issue was put in by a doctor, and pushed by a doctor."

Not should it be a surprise when we reach the point that we shun objective discussions of self-introspection, when we worry about even mentioning the possibility of being overpowered in anythingfor the exact reasons you state, that when the logical conclusion becomes a call for our representatives to be pro-power partisians of class purity who will not even think of how we relate or should relate to other classes, that we end exactly where we are today.

Zarlor may be a doctor correspondent, but he has my lasting respect. He has done an admirable job, even with this issue (regardless of whether the proposal is right or wrong). The victory in his presence is an ascension beyond abject partianship, and a willingness to look towards balance between us and our balancing class...the doctor. A give and take of constructive viewpoints from both sides.

The notion that we should promote a CM partisan to promote only our wish list and demands without regard to anyone else would be a shame, IMO. Because that would mean that the doctors in response would have to ask him to step down for one of the blatantly partisan Docs to counter.

Zarlor is a cool head of reason that is doing his best to steer his comments in a manner that serves both constituencies. We need more people like this. Not less. I have seen absolutely nothing in any of his posts that would ever lead me to believe he has an intentional agenda to be biased in one fashion or another.

We are not yet Minimally Powered. I have a hard time entertaining objective discussions about other classes when the basics of our class do not work.

I am a Master Doctor and Master Combat Medic. At least i can load my Doctor schematics and make some sort of educated guess about the potential power of my products.

I have never had an issue curing disease or poison in more than one application. I have however, had multiple issues with never being able to successfully apply poison or disease to a target.

I don't disagree with anything you have said Eureka.

I also agree with a lot of the wisdom in we can't really assess power until Adv RC is in, and similar tidbits.

But the notion that we need a partisian for CM Correspondent...that's not a step forwards, IMO.

Well, I don't know what to tell you guys, except for two things. One, I didn't make the list. I passed it on. Beleive me or not, don't matter to me, it's all thereto read all you like whether or not you choose to see it.

And second, if it is absolutely true that at this moment a comparable Poison C is cured by a Cure C in one shot, then what difference does it make if they make it so much better that it still cures it in one shot?

Shout for a voice all you like, you had none before I asked for those lists and posted them for the Devs. And I might add the "fix" for the poison thing had diddley to do with it being on the CM list anyway, from all I can tell.

You got a problem with it, take it up with everyone who didn't say a word about it when I asked for comments on the list, for crying out loud.

Yeah, I wan to see a CM Corre assigned to. But never suggest taht I had any malicious intent in makling that list because I had squat to do with it other than to compile the list YOU GUYS gave me. I asked for comment and got no supporting arguments (operative word there, supporting, meinign more than just one person daying "I don't like that") to get rid of all the stuff. You all boted for the order of the stuff as well. Don't cry to me over spilt milk, dude. (Phrase not meant to imply you are a child or immature, mind you, only to show that it the situation little warrants the outrage.) It's done and past and nobody spoke up at the time.

Even if I were a dedicated CM correspondent there's little more I could do if I were trying to be unbiased other than to follow supported suggestions, BUT in this situation I fully admitted up front that I did not have the time for following up on all the issues to see where and how they were supported on this forum and apoligized for it.

The problem is not the disagreement over Poisons strength compared to Cure strength (I jsut don't know on that one either way because I've never done the testing either, and have yet to see compelling arguments on EITHER side, my PERSONAL opinon on the matter is, and has always been, completely and utterly undecided, just so that is clear.) The problem is questioning of my desire to stand up for CM rights or that I would have a personal agenda, because I'm also a Doc, to push. I simply assure you that such would be dishonorable and base of me, and is simpl;y NOT the case.

That being said, yeah I want to see a CM corre take over as much as you guys do. Just don't suggest malfeasance on my part when the whole process has been completely and openly publicevery step of the way.

Jacore,
I would not have a problem if the issue (with corresponding research data) would've appear in Doctor list. But it was put in Combat Medic list.
Is it Combat Medic skill ? No.
Does this issue create inbalance in where novice doctor will be able to one-application cure poison applied by master Combat Medic ? Yes.
Was this issue raised by Combat Medics ? No.
Should issues that are NOT raised by CMs and are nerfing CMs appear in the list ? My opinion is NO (except exploits - which I do not consider to be nerf to a class).

The issue is that they Cure B will be so good as to heal Poison C in one shot, and then novice doctor (with 2 in the proper line to get the skill) will be able to remove any poison in one application.

Sekir,

I understand, and actually will apologize as maybe my reaction is somewhat misplaced.

Everyone is demanding fixes and talking about where they're underpowered. There is a legitimate argument by Eureka and others that 'hey, maybe we should wait and see...we can't really see one way or another yet."

I understand, and ya know what? I actually agree. We've been bug broken for quite some time. I don't see any fix as static or in ink. I honestly don't see (with flipflops like the T21) that any downgrade is permanent.

WhatI fervently believe, however, is that we should realize there isa plethora of clients and professions trying to scream'we're broken' and 'n*rf you' (as if you needed the profanity filter on it) over one another, vying for the limited attention of limited manpower in limited time. I believe that in these circumstances a credo of yelling louder, longer, and more often might sound cool in Latin, but will only yield an arms race of negativity and self-pity from other camps, many of whom represent a larger client base than we do. I firmly believe that among such a backdrop the most effectiveway to stand out and get that limited attention is with a wish list coupled with ideas of self-regulation and workable answers to common complaints of our class. Wish lists that contain viewpointslarger than just ourselves.

I would actually like to see us as a class grow the point that we can respond to the complaints of other classes, not with the mentality to bitterly defend every inch of every issue, but to seek common ground and tactically accede to a few (that maybe we dont' really have to), to better our chances of getting what we really want.

When we will speak only of what we want and yield nothing of what others want for us, then we utterly cede control of our future to someone else who will treat our whines vs others like a parent adjudicating a fight among children.

Far better that we speak with a responsible voice and offer comprises from time to time to earn a seat at the table of adults making the decisions.

If that happens, count me in on the bandwagon screaming for a fix. THt's a whole differnt issue, IMHO. IF they are balancing Like cure to like poison, fine. (Actuall I think the imbalance, shoudl should proerly be there, is that I think it will gernally cost a Doc more mind to admister a cure than it does for the CM to toss the poison. I've been meaning to test that, though.)

If a top end Cure C can cure even a garbage Poison C in one shot, though... no way. Bad move. Count me as a front line cheerleader to get that fixed.

The issue was brought forth by HoTron-rex. His first post in the first thread. Position #8 on his list.

It was then relisted by HoTron-rex in the second thread in which Z asked for a compilation of the issues from the first thread.

Zarlor didn't bring it up, HoT did.

To attempt to say that Zarlor put that issue into the listing because he is a Doctor is ludicrous. He simply sent in what was given to him on the CM board.

No one said anything against it, not once. Don't blame Z for that, he did the best he could with what was given and has done a stupendous job of it.
