Actually, I've been playing since October 2003, and I do have a lot of experience with different BH templates against different jedi templates.... While someone with MLS/MDef/Healer3000/Enhancer2000,good equipment, andwho knows what he's doing behind the keyboard will never lose to a bounty hunter...
Just wondering... The template that handed you your ass (and then later your friends), was that by chance a MLS/MDef/Healer3000/Enhancer2000
Anyhow, you may have experience with some BH temps and Jedi combos but we know atleast one template and Jedi combo you had very little skill in (from your initial story).

First off, whether jedi are supposed to be 1.5x more powerful than non-jedi or not, the fact is that certain jedi templates stuggle to even match the power of a non-jedi template.... someone with an MPowers template is going to have a hard time against evenmediocre bounty hunters.
True, some Jedi temps are not so much designed for combat but rather support roles. However, for a Jedi to "win" all he has to do is live. A Mpower Jedi needs only to cloak and leave.

A template creator can be found at the following webaddress in case you don't have one: http://www.bloodfin.org/modules/mydownloads/
Yes, a very useful tool I've had for awhile. However, one still needs to know what they are doing to make the most use out of it.

Jedi: Don't underestimate the usefulness of PSGs. I know they take up the same slot as your uber-1337 belt with all those attachments, but a PSG will allow 15% less ranged energy damage to get through (That's for a MDefender. It's significantly more useful to those without MDefender). That would have to be some belt to make up for the significantlyhigher damage you are taking. You can easily test how much of a difference your belt makes, but I canpromise you+15LS Speed attachment combined with a +15LS Accuracy attachmentisn't going to raise youractualDPS (seeverbose combat log) by more than10%. It will probably actually make much less of a difference than that. Put your best attachments on a hat, and strap a PSG around your waist.A PSG willprobably help you more against those pesky riflemen in mass PvP because a lot of bounty hunterschoose a weapon for thekineticdamage. That said, plenty of bounty hunters do use energy damage (basically everyonewho uses a rifle deals energy damage).
Very good advice for PvP. However, any BH who knows what he is doing has an alt gun that does something other then energy damage for those PSG wearing Jedi. Though, I agree with you and your assessment that a PSG overall is usually more useful then a belt with attachments.

Healer/Bounty Hunters: Try using Ranged Shot+Placed Shot+Speed Powerupas your standard damage combo. Advanced Critical Shot+Improved Head Shot(for example)+SAC Powerup will deal about 10-20% more damage, but the beauty of Ranged Shot+Placed Shot+Speed Powerup is in the incredibly quick cooldown times. There's nothing worse than launching off a Critical Shot only to have to burn an instant stim while waiting for the cooldown timer. Also, note that SAC is much less of a factor with Ranged Shot+Placed Shot+Speed Powerupso you could have your weaponsmith experiment for higher damage instead of SAC and possibly cut into the10-20% of damage you lost by switching to your new damage combo. Don't forget about your high-damage specials, though. With a speed power up they are all the more deadly when used as a quick blitz. One other thing to be aware of, with a quick-firing weapon (like a pistol)equipped with SpeedPoweruptwo damage specials may not be enough. You could try adding in a third low-SAC special such as Aimed Shot, but that complicates things and adds significantly to the SAC cost. For that reason, this tip works best with rifles.
I've heard people saying spamming combos like ranged shot and quick draw do more damage over the long run. *If* your goal to to wear down a Jedi (such as with MBH/MCM types) it is usually a good idea to:
1. Use a health crystal
2. Use food/spice to add to your mind reg
3. 7000 energy armor sliced to 75% armor break
4. A solid gun that you spam ranged shot with something like quick draw (if you have it)
The goal is to lay your debuffs and DoTs, root (use a droid to prevent Jedi from cloaking), and then pound away with your gun using basic attacks as described above.
However, some Jedi templates your only chance is to surprise attack at the most inopportune moment and front load massive damage. Short of that you will lose so how much damage you do over the long run really doesnt matter

I have an idea, let the jedi have what they want. In fact lets leave it up to them to decide what skills we are allowed to have in whatever template we decide to take. In return, I want the names, bounty lvls, and factions (not that it matters to me) on the terms which will then be updated w/ the much needed filter system they demand. additionally, make it so a MBH can INVITE up to 10 other MBH's to join his cause and destroy the jedi with the big red S on his blue jedi pajama's.
OMG that MCM is wayyyy to powerful, I should be able to give him a mean look and kill him w/ that alone! I am a JEDI after all, I did spend endless hours grinding away afk in the ferral wookie camp!
please stop whining I'm MCM MBH and I've fought several full temps. win some lose some, be prepared, learn how to counter your enemy...etc etc etc, you know after all these are the things you were telling BH's before. Shoe's on the other foot now, tight fittin shoe isn't it?
MCM is great...
But you spend half your mind putting on DOTs.
I have no problem beating them. ![]()
oh, and since I'm here and being a jerk who is just a n00b,
[one who played since BETA and which is before most of you Jedi cry babies]
Healing isnt a PvP skill? Maybe we shouldnt be able to heal ourselves? Ok, well, since we are deciding that combat skills do not apply in combat, even though my combat level is 80 becauseI mastered Pistoleer and Combat medic, those pistoleers should not be able to use pistols in PvP, after all, Melee might not like the root. Rilfemen, dont get me going! Those do decent damage! NERF NERF NERF! No one using a high powered hand cannon should even hurt anyone...
And why dont we start making Amorsmiths craft dewbacks and make CHs use Axes!

god...get those Jedi filth out! Get out! You already burnt the BH forums, go back to pissing on the ashes, dont touch us!
You Jedi, most of you Ebay, are just about as dumb as a bag of flashlights, of course, the flashlights dont talk, so they have you beat! Yeah, look at me, I'm just a name calling guy who'loose' all the battles in a fake world.
Boo-frickity-hoo! Dont you guys understand how stupid you sound when you complain that someone beats you, but when YOU beat someone, its, Chin up! You just dont know how to fight me! Of course, when BH II shows up an hour later and hands your ass to you in a big bag of rifle shot, they are overpowered and exploiting the system, how dare they beat you! YOU are the uber leet jet-eye, how dare they!
