Perhaps a 'Nerf FAQ' would be in order?

And no, a nerf isn't coming. Do a search for Devs response to DOT. It definitively states that they are happy with our current damage. I disagree with that statement in regards to PvE, but I'll accept it if for no other reason than I'm afraid of the bugs that would be inherent in any coding change they might attempt to fix it.

If poisons did the damage they were supposed to do in PvE, the damage you see in PvP WOULD be 75% reduction. And the statement that there is nothing that can be done to counter this is false, the developers just introduced a whole line of food to counter CM. I can't help it if you just gulp BOH and Brandy until you are full, just shows how narrowminded you are (as if the constant nerf whines weren't enough).

I stated a reduction of power, not a nerf, though that might be open to interpetation. It has nothing to do with the amount of damage that a combat medic does. For instance putting poisons and diseases on a timer, limiting the number of people that a poison or disease can affect and creating AOE cures will all decrease the power of a combat medic. They will not decrease the amount of damage that their dots do. One has nothing to do with the other.

As for the personal attack <shrugg> you're not worth insulting back.

It appears not much, except that we will all have cl10 combat droids to use and have used against us and vehicles, droids, turrets, and AT-ST's wont be poison/diseaseable. No biggie.

And this little tidbit:

" Defensive Modifiers will have a hard cap with profession template stacking. Defense stacking will no longer stack beyond the intended combat calculation limits causing the defender to be nigh invulnerable"

Guess the Devs knew who the overpowered classes REALLY were, LOL.

Why can't you just delete nerfing threads here when they arise? The good majority of them aren't constructive and fill our forum with needless clutter.

If you're in need of resources on Radiant, take a visit to C&K. We have a well-stocked vendor full of resources, and it's all at 2cpu. Give us a visit on Tatooine (-371, -4948) right outside of Anchorhead. We also have a shop in the Helms Deep Mall in the Western Dune Sea!

Because only the Mods can delete/lock threads, else I would do just that.

Also, since ALL of the nerf cries against CM's deal with PvP combat, wouldn't it be better for them to bring it up with a PvP correspondent and THEN thePvPcorrespondent can have open discussion with the CM correspondent on a forum where the devs actually read posts?

Actually we've had that conversation, to a large extent, on the Corre forum. That might have even been where Pahdbacca's post concerning our DoT damage being balanced was culled from, but I can't remember for certain.

A Nerf FAQ might be something worth considering, though, since there are a LOT of misconceptions about what CMs can do, can't do and what are bugs and in the process of being changed.

That post came from me asking 4-5 questions (can't remember, and can't see the post anymore) about medical DoT's after the combat DoTs were changed last publish.

Good idea, I think

J3STER and I spent a lot of time, em, negotiating? about the PvP aspects of Combat Medics. I think that before we left, we came to a general understanding.

Please understand that with what I am about to say, I am in no way trying to put words into J3STER's mouth...This is MY interpretation of what came from the threads we discussed.

  1. PvP is an imbalance with CMs due to mind damage not being able to be healed in any reasonable fasion and due to bugs. The bugs include...

    • being able to throw medical DoTs beyond 64m

    • being able to have area effects go through walls

    • being able to ignore the ground and not taking the Z-axis (up and down direction) into account with weapons or medical DoTs

    • the exploit (in my opinion it is an exploit...Devs or CSR may not agree with me)of being able to target a neutral player after challenging to a duel, poisoning that player with an area poison, the having the splash effect hit other players

    • The poison+disease incap issue

  2. Before ANY adjustment to medical DoT damage were to occur, the problems listed in #1 abouve should be fixed, and further time taken to evaluate after the bugs have been fixed.

  3. If any damage capabilities need fixed with CMs, the first to be fixed should be raising PvE damage and making diseases viable in PvE.

That is where the PvP issue stood in my mind before I left. I suspect that Texxie and Jester have already sparked up some conversation on the subject. Please keep in mind that Texxie will take a critical look at these threads and may come to a new and different opinion with the other correspondents. I would expect him to as the new Correspondent (No pressure Texxie )
