Best jedi hunting template yet that I've worked with: MBH/MCM/Rifles 4000. Take a look at the stats and you'll see that MBH is a better choice than MR. Advanced critical is the best ranged damage special in such a template until they fix advanced sniper. You get much better def, almost the same acc, and can combine advanced crit with improved headshot for excellent damage. You lose some rifle speed, but its not enough to make a difference in the testing I've done.
Very nice temp..i just tried it out and me likes alot..will have to do some pvp with it soon!!
Thats my template exactly, if it had a root it would be perfect, I've managed to kill a few 90k jedi an make the rest run away, but i still get owned by mdef, i last for a while (well 5 minutes anyway)...its also a good template for duels, i find with ruby bliel and a speed pup i can heal most of the extra damage doneby an opponentand incap them, the rifles line is also good for group pvp.
BTW what food/s give me extra melee/ranged defenses?

For ranged def i think the drink is thundercloud something or another!!
Here's another ranged CM temp:
I'm a MBH/MCM/Pistols xxx3. The pistols gives me advanced root which comes in very handy when applying dots. The food/drink/spice combo is key. I combine spiced tea and booster blue to give great mind regen, in addition to other foods that have mind regen as secondary attributes (also use ruby bliel for faster stim round-time).
If pvp against melee, I start with a kd, go in and paralyze, debuff, paralyze, run away to about 30-35m, root, fire/poison/disease, then spam advance torso and advanced critical shot, while throwing an a kd here and there. Initially I didn't see how valuable the debuffs were, but now I use them constantly... can also help defensively if you need to make a run for it...hehe
Against ranged, I use a similar system but know that when rooted they can still cause dmg at distance unlike melee, so I expect to heal more. I use duelist stance also which gives defensive bennies against ranged. I try to use dizzy/stun and blindto decreases accuracy and dmg, as well as utilizing kd as much as possible.
When dueling, I make sure to be within 10m and start off instantly with paralyze/debuff
