I'd just like to say that reading the threads on the CM board has given me quite a headache.


This whole PvP environment is f'd up as it is. The last thing that this game needs is more overpowered garbage like CM AOE mind disease with the range of effect like that ofa carpet bombing. Fix this class.


As for "tactics" - I don't consider throwing a disease bomb and running off to be much of one. If you want tactical combat try a profession with a variety of specials like Carbineer, not this lame "hit and run" BS. Anyone who doesn't think that CM as it stands right now makes PvP even stupider than it already is should be punched in the face.

CMs are unbalanced, largely in part because of things not the professions fault. The games in ability to heal mind is the LARGEST problem. Making1 pool unhealable made everyone choose professions that target that. CM's, and Riflemen are the primary result of that. Second, AOE through walls, again not CM fault, but it shouldnt happen. However there are some things that need to apply to CM's which do not.


1. Damage cap, with spider venom in game now, damage at 1000+ per tick is too high.

2. AOE distance - Once an AOE hits its target, it spreads outwards in a radius, this radius can easily exceed 30m....way too high

3. Number of targets they hit at once. Cap should be 5 people with 1 AOE, right now there is no cap.

4. Poison/Disease incap. This has become the PvsP CM favroite combo and it shouldnt incap when combined which in turn decimates a raid party in 2 throws.

As for the hit and run tactic it is cheap, easy, fast, and effective. The technical word for it is gurrilla warfare... Anyway that is what many of us use be we can't outrun anyone if they start out after us even 8 seconds after we throw our first poisons because if we are double stacking our poisons and then throwing our diseases we have been standing still for 9(3*3 the time for the throw animation to run) of the 15 (3*5 time between throws.) seconds since our fist throw of poison. You should be able to catch us in that time. (I am using nerf callers number with are smaller than reality for this example just to keep bickering down to a minimum.) Now if you can't catch us in that time you are not trying or not paying attention. (assuming that they are not exploiting, and if they are you need to "/report offender" right away.) I PvP as a CM/DOC on one server and as a Fencer/Swordsman on another. I target CMs #1 with both characters. I guess that since I don't find thier gurrilla tactics all that hard to counter with either character I should be "punched in the face."

MCM here.


Do I think it is too powerful? Yes.


Why? I would have to say one should not be able to stack diseases and poisons. Much like commandos used to be able to stack different flame attacks. I also think Doctors should get area poison heals, and area disease heals. Those two things in place you might see less complaining from groups of people getting slaughtered by combat medics. I would also like to see doctors get area fire blankets too hehe. I am highly against "nerfing". I like to think of it as "fixing". The only power sink CMs would feel is not being able to stack poisons and diseases.


Edit: The range also needs to be capped at a number more reasonable. Something like the range of a pistol, or carbine. Not more than a rifle like it is now.

No, just because a bunch of cry babies can't fight the big bad CM we will try to nerf em down. This is so much garbage. 2% of the people playing the game wanting to control the other 98%. WAHHHHHHHHHHHH. It makes me sick to read how many children out there play this game. Do the non CM's stamp their feet when they make there posts on our forum? And really if they nerf our skills will it make everyone happy? No, somebody will complain still. Then the TKA's are too strong, then the Rifleman or the BH? Where does it end?

JUST BECAUSE YOU WANT YOUR TKA/RIFLEMAN AND WHATEVER TEMPLATE SO YOU CAN DOMINATE WITHOUT A WORRY TO YOUR HEALING IS YOUR FAULT AND YOURS ALONE. DON'T NERF MY CLASS JUST BECAUSE YOU WANT IT ALL YOUR WAY.

Why is it everyone actually on the boards crying for nerf the same people on every post crying for nerf, as well as before on other profession forums crying for nerf. When you post on the Combat Medic Profession Forum woundn't you hope most of the replies are from Combat Medics ?


Since most people wouldn't come to these boards unless they are a CM.

There was a time not too long ago that I would have easily said yes to this but that's not the case now. CM is not overpowered, it's broken. Fix the profession first, address balance second.

Would any one cry if the CM lost the AreaAttack and had only Single Attack(s) ?It seems most complain aboutCM Area Attacks. . . It could be an easy quick fix by the Devs. . .Of course more tweeking would need to be done later.


Lets not forget that your grouped CM should bewise/kind enough to area stim and mind heal you. . . .

Hell yes, the carbineers would be furious.


Would Pistoleers want to loose Fan shot or Stopping Shot?


Would Smugglers agree to remove Last Ditch shot?


Would BHs accept the removal of Fire KD or Eyeshot?


You don't just remove the most powerfull attack we have without offering us something in return. No matter if the attack is Broken or Overpowered or unbalanceing. Just removing the AOE poisons would not be a solution, it would be an ubernerf.


Now, if something were to be offered in return, something of more or less equal worth... then, maybe then... we could talk.

YES. Potentcy on every single player hit 100%.


YES.Lack of 75% damage reduction.


If these problems were solved, I think cm's ould be much more balanced, heck even if the first 2 would resolved....

Yeah a perfect example of someone who is too impatient to read the previous posts.


#1 We don't have a 100% chance of hitting. Wear clothes, eat food and you will not alway get hit.


#2/3 these are the same thing, (if you didn't notice) We hit with 100% because any less and they would not do anything except keep you from regenerating any other damage naturaly. (not like you let it do that in PvP anyway.) If we get a 75% reduction we are then down to 13 DPS on average. Unless you are using uber spider venum, (which has been nerfed already, and a good thing too)and then you are at 25 DPS. So yeah I would say that we don't really need a 75% reduction. we only do about 50 DPS as is on average. You give us 13 DPS and we do nothing. Nothing even if done to 100 people at a time is still nothing.


Please read through all posts before posting your reasons, unless you want to look uneducated.
