Combat Medic Archive
Thread: My views on CM's. Face it folks, we ARENT combat classes.
If you don't think a Combat Medic is overpowered, and easily the most grief capable class, you're delusional.
I've played ranged professions, melee professions, been a MCH, Doc, and am now a CM dabbler (4304 currently).
Throw a Combat Medic in nice composite armor, with some buffs, and WHAT can touch them? in PVP or PvE? Nothing can. What's that? a TKA coming at you? poison/disease/run. They can't meditate as long as you don't hit Peace. Even at 4304 with single poison C and area poisonB I can dump around 1000 mind from someone per tick total. That's absurd! And it bypasses all PVP limitations and armor. Even a doc with cure poison/disease packs can't keep up, I can poison them faster than they can cure, and it only takes 1 or 2 ticks at 650 per tick before they doc isdone. Comparing it to Swordsman mind bleeds is funny. How many classes can cure disease and poison? One. Not to mention I don't know any Doc dabblers who can't, its usually their last tree before master. How many can cure or at least lessen mind bleeds? Every single medic novice on the server.
As for the guy saying he'd exploit all line of sight issues and everything else.. I bet you're also the Combat Medic who rushes into battle naked, dying 20 times but thinking he's the **edit** because he can throw 1 area disease to grief people before dying for the 21st time.
Combat Medics are an awesome class, they're a cross between support and combat. But right now, poisons and diseases are way way way too powerful in PVP.
I should also clarify that this only applies really to our MIND poison/diseases, where there is no quick/easy heal. I laugh at most flamethrower dots. Isn't that was Health Wound Pack C's and Stimpack E's are for? If they're killing you in 1 hit, try getting some buffs before ya PVP.
Grau'din,
I wasn't talking about using line of sight how it should be, I thought you were talking about the people who can shoot through buildings, and I've seen CM's toss things through buildings before (i.e. hiding behind it and tossing it or shooting at someone on the far side of a building). I'm not sure whats involved but its a big problem at times.

Shrug I use whatever I have at my disposal to kill my enemies. Be they a TKA, a BH, Commando whatever. The way I use LOS is to stay at the corner of an obstacle, toss my poison thenduck for cover. In case you've never noticed, you can toss, move for about 2 seconds then you stop. If someone doesn't have the brains to notice they are being bled, diseased and poisoned at 64m+ then they need to get a clue. Overall, if I am smarter at PVP than the other guy, I should always own him.

Line of Sight is not an exploit. It's a fact of life. You can't hit what you can't see so please go to the bazaar and buy a clue.I happen to be one of those CMs that can toss an AE Disease from 76m so no need to die 21 times here pal

So I have to disagree with our CM correspondent. +1 HAM cap is fine. It needs no tweeking, it needs no boost... poison is still strong as hell and ever powerful. You may not be dead at 1 HAM, but you sure as hell arent doing anything. No specials for you!
I don't happen to remember stating my personal thoughts on the +1 HAM after becomming Correspondent. It doesn't matter if my personal opinion is for or against it. As a correspondent, my job is to present what the CM community thinks about the +1 HAM cap, not what I think.
So, any comments I have made about the +1 HAM were made as personal thoughts, and not as correspondent thoughts. Any attempts to tie my personal thoughts on the +1 HAM with me being a correspondent and using it in an arguement on these boards are either 1) a misunderstanding or mistake or 2) an attempt to put words in my mouth or be manipulative. I hope it is case #1. I am sorry if at any time you thought that my personal thoughts on the matter are any more or less important than amybody leses, because they are not. If you want to say Pip's thoughts are for or against the +1 cap, that is fine. If you want to say it's the correspondents thoughts, you are wrong. The correspondents thoughts are that the majority of people who voted/argued about the issue do not like the current status of the +1 HAM. Next thing you no, somebody is going to look at your post and run off saying 'well the CM correspondent said...'

God self nerf crys yikes, come on if we get a 75% dmg reduction the class is done
if anything we need a 50% dmg boost in pve to be effective
1 ham incap is annoying but fair i agree, and the poisons are not overpowered,
example: fight a smart player, i battled a swords man, i used my 588 dmg mind poison on him three times he cured it three times and still had mind to spare. He buffed and the fly to over 3k mind, then delivered me a horrible death
Any class can kill noobs, we can, we can kill ubers to but he ubers can kill us just the same, it comes down to who is better prepared in that case he was
hey guys Master Doctor/Master Combat Medic lvl 4 rifle
i consider myself the ultimate tanking profession. I am always buffed at about 2500-3000 per stat and i have 1100 mind 1100 focus and 850 willpower, I wear the ultimate in Composite armor each piece sliced for effectivness and always have a great supply of stims handy. When attacking rebel towns i usually put the novice medic title so people wont target me and i can heal that much longer. when theres a group i throw out a mind poison area C and run back about 20m, i wait until they are at least below 100 mind then i let loose my "rebel pwning macro" /aim /aim /headshot 2, more often then not i will have incapped them and will preceed to Db them or pick another target. The only combat class i am truly scared of is the TKM becuase of they uber single-unit fighting skillz, any other class means nothing to me, fire/eyeshot/poisons/anything i can all heal and since i have such great mind i dont need to wry about getting low (or i just take some muon). again i consider myself the ultimate tanking profession(funny considering im all healing really)
Just my two cents
But the fact is, almost all the CM's schematics are geared for combat. The name itself includes combat. CM's are not 'Support Medics', or 'Battlefield medics'. It's COMBAT MEDIC.

Are you smoking crack?
It baffles me that when 2-H swordsman can bleed you for 900+ along with Rifleman that can drop a 600+ bleed plus strafe the **edit** out of you every second.
Get the **edit** off of the board.
I would love to be a glorified ranged healer again. Shame the range is useful in 95% of all combat situations now.
