Hehe, I promise I won't ask for macros. I actually read the entire FAQ and have several macros already made.
I'm 4143 in scout right now, and I'll master that tonight. After I get novice ranger, I'll do one buff a day and one hour of crafting a day grinding until master. Any more, and I will likely jump out of my bedroom window. I promise I'll be a good ranger.

be a better ranger and dont use buffs once you hit master
you dont need buffs if you play smart with ranger.

Hope you feel better.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm moving to ranger. I heard the survival tree is murder, though. BAH. I'm 4131 scout right now. Wandering Dathomir is pretty good for scout xp, it's just the survival stuff I'm worried about.
Thanks.

I'm looking for a few strategy ideas for taking on ships with tailgunners (PvE, I'm new to spaceand still working up). I must admit that Iwas caught off guard on my first encounter with these li'l beasties. (It was an escort mission, they must've heard me when I said "Another escort? Ugh, shoot me.")
Anyway, I dropped in behind (not knowing that they were packing a tailgunner... once again, I'm pretty new to space...) and got utterly torn up. I went back a second time, trying to strafe a little more, but ultimately with similar results.
I'm a 4433 SA pilot currently running in a 'liz packed with crafted components (I don't have many good loots to RE yet.), but I have a Syck, Rhix, and Bel22 available. I'm running RO3, WO3, EO3 and Cap3. I have CtSS3. On the next try, I was thinking of loading up the Rhix and just trying to tank the shots with CtSS. I'd use the heavier ship to run a bigger cap and a faster DI. Or should I be able to do the same in the smaller ship? Or should I try to avoid dropping in and try strafing runs?
My front shields and armor thank you in advance.

Yeah, aggressors are fun. The best was to take care of these is jousting and target weapon 1 with the '[' key. Just plug away at it until the tailgun is gone then it's just like any other TIE.

I'm partial to the Rhix myself, but should be able to take these ships kind of easy with any of those (the syck a heavy?). Are you trying to take out the rear gun first? That seems to gimp them and make them much easier to tail.

Thanks for the speedy responses. Targetting the tailgun while jousting sounds like a sound plan. Plus, that will give me practice in something other than tailing.
To the starship terminal!
P.S.It's a heavy syck. I don't drive the Bel too often. It's like having an old classic in the garage that you're fixing up. Only take it out to show off to your friends. The syck and the 'liz are my daily drivers. The only thing I have against the Rhix is that I can't paint it red. After all, red ones go faster! (Up the mass on the Kimo and I'd be a happy camper. Thing's so ugly it's pretty.)

The reason I like the Rhix is the gun placement. All three guns hit in a really tight pattern (I hate wing guns).Once the TIE gets to close while jousting, your wing guns start to become worthless. But, you are right, not much you can do for the Rhix in the way of paint... lol
