FYI, diseases go away after you die and clone. It's the wounds caused by the disease that remain, but the disease no longer affects your cloned body.

If you incap for any reason, due to poison or normal combat damage, you have a grace period of about 2 minutes before the disease/poison begins ticking again. It is possible after that time to be incapped yet again from the same poison.

I haven't tried disease in PvP, only testing against some TK Master friends who can meditate diseases and poisons away in a short time in order to test the effectiveness, as well as train members of my PA what a good CM can do. I don't know if you can incap due to disease in PvP, however testing diseases against weak mobs results in them having only 1 point left in the affected stat, but still standing (popping a disease on the NPC didn't initiate combat at that time, things may have changed).

As far as diseases being a griefing tool, I admit that it can be. Poisons and diseases are tools, just like a car or an axe. It's the person wielding the tool who is or is not griefing. Used responsibly, diseases can be powerful tools to help accomplish an objective (capturing or defending a faction base, for example; I'd say anything goes when potentially 60k FPs are on the line). If they're used irresponsibly, people will react unfavorably and demand a change. What is irresponsible? That's up to us to decide as Combat Medics, otherwise others will decide for us.

I don't think disease is a grief tool. Otherwise KD, Dizzy are as well,

Merrin, might as well post the complete walkthrough on that, i've been reporting that for a long time now and they only made a quick'n dirty fix once.

diseases are useless because instead of actualy lasting as long as they say the person you disease simply has to get a friend to duel them and DB them and the disease is gone, its compeltely worthless against intelligent opponents.

it takes about 2 minutes to turn 1 bar into black with a C disease.

i challenge you to find a friend to duell you in that time ,)

By request of MycroftThan:

Perma incap - there are 3 kinds - all involve wounds:

Health/Action Perma-Incap:
This is pretty common with 1827391827 Commandos around now. It is not a true perma-incap. IMO it will be the one that is screamed about on the boards the most when the Commando Bandwagon gets rolling at a good clip.

Problem:
A person that is buffed in health and action goes and fights a Commando, BH or Combat Medic. They accumulate more than their maximum base action or health worth of wounds, then get DB'd. When they clone, they are at negative health or action and incap automatically. They cannot get up until the wounds are healed.

Easiest Workaround:
Someone drags them out of the cloning centre and heals them.

Regeneration Perma-Incap:
This is moderately hard to achieve...it is really two types.

Problem:
A person is under the effects of buffs - food or medical. Then accumulates more than their cap amount of regeneration stat(Constitution, Stamina, Willpower). Tatooine Sunburn junkies are notorious for this, as well as people who buff to wear armor. They lose the buff, then incap. Their regeneration is below 0 so they cannot get up again without assistance.

Easiest Workaround:
They get healed by someone, or they can get deathblowed(deathblow will completely cure secondary stats that go into negatives...not sure if this was a bug or an attempted fix to perma-incap).

Mind Wound Perma-Incap:
This is the REAL perma incap, and it is a true pain in the ass. A consolation is that it is hard to pull off.

Problem:
A person is under the effect of a mind buff, either from food or entertainers. Say a person walks out of cantina with 1500 mind from entertainer buffs and gets attacked by a Combat Medic who drops Mind Disease on him. A minute or so later he has 1500 mind wounds and the buff expires - he then automatically incaps from negative mind. Deathblowing doesn't fix this as he will still have unchanged(negative) mind and appear at the cloning centre incapped. You cannot watch or listen to entertainers while incapped, so the wounds cannot be conventionally healed and you are stuck incapped unless you have some good contacts.

Solution:
There are only two workarounds that I can think of to this problem. Arguably the easiest way is to get a CSR to help you...somehow. Seeing how tickets are being handled, I would give you a week to a month to have it resolved...it took me three weeks just to fix my house.

Second solution I have not tested, but should be viable. Find a Squad Leader(yeah right), get him grouped, then have him use the /boostmorale command until you have enough Mind to get up and head to a Cantina.

If you are in ultra-griefer mode you can add this on:

Infinte Battle Fatigue:
Ok, it's not really infinte but close enough.

Problem:
Sometimes disease works while incapped, this is a bug I am sure. When you hit maximum wounds, disease keeps ticking. Each tick of a disease, if the related stat is maxed in wounds, adds 15 battle fatigue. Throw 9 diseases on someone and he accumulates 90 battle fatigue every 10 seconds. 540 BF a minute, and disease can last a long long time, up to 20 minutes by some reports. The target is permanently incapped, so they can't do anything about it till they are "fixed". If the CM is merciless, they can come around every 10 mins and drop another set of diseases on you...an hour of this and you have 32400 battle fatigue. I have not done this - honest! I hope there is a cap for battle fatigue, or a person could feasibly end up with millions of BF by the time someone rescues him. Double whammy, it is progressively harder to heal wounds as you gain more BF, so you have to heal BF first while sitting at 1 of everything before you can do anything about wounds.

Solution:
To prevent this from happening - get a group. If you are already being victimized, have a friend drag you somewhere safe so the evil CM can't get you. If you have no friends...well, battle fatigue might be the least of your worries.
Reducing Battle Fatigue - Help a Novice Entertainer(or a whole group of them) get Master Dancer and Master Musician while waiting for it to heal.

This is not always true,I belive it is suppose to work this way however, lastnight my guild and i ran around a rebel outpost incapping people, applying disease then deathblowing them, Later on we got bored and charge the rebeloutpost and say 1/2 the people there with 50% wounds still.... Also I've had some really nasty tells from people who continue to get incapped from poision after i DB'd them and they re-clone.

I belive the bug may exist in server lagg... (For disease anyhow) numerous times i've had my group mates DB people beforeI land the disease, yet even after i see thier corpse i can still put disease on it. This maybe how people kept the disease effect after cloning. Will propably test this later tonight if i get the chance.
