Thread: Petition for new CM Correspondant
No Elenora, just because you are happy with him dont expect the rest of us to be. Fine be happy, Im not.
Part of the Correspondents job isnt to just keep info to himself, its to communicate to the Dev's and back to us. This hasnt occured. Other Correspondents are postingemails, etcfrom Q3PO, ours is not because hes "Too busy with RL". No ones bitching because he has a life, but like I said before he signed on for this and he can leave anytime. Even messages like "Sorry guys got no response from Dev's this week" is good communication.
He should be posting his correspondance here and what he receives back from the Dev's. I want a good communicative correspondent, not one who feels like logging in is "work" and has a job that keeps him from both playing the game and coming here. If you think hes that great Elenora then fine, but dont expect some of us to sit back while other professions get fixed and ours isnt even playing the game.
Theres a difference betweeen "doing the job" which he isnt anyways and doing a good job. I want someone who will do a good job that wants to do it and someone who will communicate with us...you know thepeople paying to play.
Also devs said to not submit any new issues, so as far as I (and devs I am sure) are concerned - he is doing great job (list is submited).
Let's say you become a corresponded - what would you do differently (better) then what he does ?
A) Make a post of the email I plan to send to make sure most agree
B) Post Q3PO's reply I received and all correspondents got. Most correspondents posted the reply to their professions to let them know
C) Every Friday if no response or correspodance is needed say so. A little note saying "Sorry guys, we were told not to send any correspondance this week" Or if he posted Q's reply, we would of known that. Again lack of communication.
D) Prioritze the list of issues through a vote on this board. What do we want fixed or set as high priority over others so we can push those first?
E) Id play the game and dont feel its work
F) Considering they patch daily, how does Filthy know that on a day he cant be bothered to play or login here that something doesnt get broken in a patch? Hes our voice of communication to the Dev''s if they break something beyond whats broke and he should be available to communicate that. Once again, thats the responsibility he took on himself
Elenora, I know you like to hear yourself talk, but get real. I do read the other boards, heres what the first 4 correspondents are doing while ours doesnt login. I wont go further then the top 4.
Architect - Top 5 weekly issues post
Armorsmith - Weekly Submission August 1/03
Artisan - Daily topic for discussion
Bio _eng - August Report made
Ours is busy in RL....WOOHOO!! We gonna get fixed by not coming up with ideas and keeping our mouths shut!! YEAH!! I dont care how you want to butter up our correspondent, he sucks. Glad you feel hes meeting the minimum requirements, but I think we can do better.
Geez man, let it drop. Whether you like him or not, this is precisely the reason why their terms are only one month.
If you don't understand that Real Life come sometimes get in the way despite your best intentions, then you obviously don't have a Real Life.
I'm sure he's doing the best he can and all you are doing is hindering his effort.
> D) Prioritze the list of issues through a vote on this board. What do we want fixed or set as high priority over others so we can push those first?
If I were a corrsponded I would not do that. Too many people yelling "no that's not important put this instead" And most combat medics do not post here (it's been proven many times that very few people actually POST on the game-related boards), so what you'd get is a vote of most vocal posters, and that does not do anything good.
Half of the correspondants did not get that e-mail (myself included)... asking to hold reports untill issues are addressed. I got a forward from another correspondant.
I asked for a copy from Q, and I did not get a response to that email either.
Others asked for a copy, and the email was spamblocked. Still others, asked, and got it on the 2nd try.
We all got a reply to out first reports (thanks for the report we'll pass this to the people on the dev team), after that, somthing is serously wrong with the email. For all we know some of us actually got sent replies to lists, but we never got them.
I for one, have not got anything from the devs since the 'thanks for the first report' email. ...and I don't have anything blocked, nor have changed my blocking since.
I don't see how you can claim filthy has done a bad job, since the devs haven't done anything since the first report... there isn't anything he (or any of us) can do.

Thirdly, we, the correspondants, have been asked to not submit new issues until they address the last weekly report. Which to my knowledge has not been done yet. I was going to post the weekly report when I submitted it last week but I got sidetracked with RL issues and was unable to get it posted. I will do so soon.
So i dont see where he isnt doing his job...maybe other correspondants do more than flithy but thats not to say flithy isnt going his job...
i see all i need to see from the correspondant that needs to be done on the boards...
honestly if u gotta petition for a new somthing...i petition for a new set of devs
Khragon, if other correspondents are posting email from Devs, it's because they've actually gotten emails from Devs. I've been extremely diligent with my issue lists from the Doc boards but have yet to receive a response back from teh Devs. Q3PO mentioned this just the other day on the main forum and apologized that most correspondents have not had any communication coming back to them from the Devs, but that we should expect it to happen.
To the best of my knowledge only a very small, select minroity of correspondents, such as the Ranger correspondent, have actually had any word back from the Devs commenting on their issues list. That is certainly NOT filthy's fault.
ok, I see that someone needs some insight on how they (the Devs) want the correspondant thing done.
1) read the forums, and add their input to your own play experience, compile a list of issues
-- done
2) Pick out the top 5 issues and rank them according to severity. (NEW REQ SENT TO MY EMAIL) List them in 1 sentence each which will be used as bullets in the dev meetings. Follow said list with informative problem explainations.
-- done
3) Offer solutions, if any, on the given problems.
-- done
4) Submit weekly report to the specifed email address.
-- done
5) Receive reply, all it contained was a Thanks for the Report and Q's email sig
-- I'm not going to post a single sentence of thanks ... there's no need.
6) Wait for reply on submitted issues before submitting the next set of 5 issues.
-- I have not yet recieved any replies to any of the issues I've submitted thus I have nothing to post.
7) Repeat for next report.
-- I have been compiling a list of new information, I do this in a wonderful program called Word, not in repeated posts on the forums. I see no need to further spam the forums with issues that have already been posted about.
I hope that clears things up for everyone about the proccess that not just I, but ALL the correspondants, have to go through.
In regards to my online playing of SWG, I don't see how that's anyones' business but my own when and how long I log on. If they patch the game and fix one of the isses guess what, I get an email because I'm a correspondant. I don't NEED to log in to find out. So please, learn patience. I can't make them fo any faster than they can. We all know this game was released VERY prematurely and the devs' lives are probably hell because of it.
This is the last I will aknowledge this thread. I hope you all have a better understanding of the order of things.
