Listen,

Picking up a little rifleman is not worth it in my opinion. You cant use the T-21 and the advanced laser rifle isnt that great. I disagree. The advance laser rifle is equal to the T21 in everything but wounding which the devs have no made obsolete. MBH speed and accuracy mods are all general. Meaning an MBH is equal to a single master ranged profession no matter what rangedweapon they pick up. Whatever line you decide to go up should be for extra specials.

You are a master combat medic so you have a root, which is the main reason to dabble in pistoleer. None of the defense mods for pistoleer will work if you are using another weapon. I would choose a tree in carbines... i forgot which I choses, the one that gives you the most offensive mods. I have an elite carbine (actually I have like 6 of them) with an SAC of 76 and a max damage around 950. On the contrary. CM's don't have a root. We have a "daze" which breaks on the first point of damage. Root does not break on damage which makes it extremely helpful. Your elite carbine is nice and is either pre-CU converted or made with some nice krayt tissue. Imade a 978 damage advanced laser rifle with an 82 SAC which did NOT use any krayt tissue in any way shape or form. With the new weapon caps it is near impossible to get a pistol or carbine into the 900's without using some form of damage modifier. The same does not hold true with rifles who's cap is in the 1100's (carbines 1k, pistols 960's). As I said before, the extra line should be used for specials.

When I dabbled with rifleman, I never found a rifle that I could use that matched my elite carbine. I think if you choose rifleman, you need to max it out and go for major damage. Also, I dont wear armor unless I have full mitigation. Rifles offer more raw damage than carbines thanks to the caps although there is only one decent kinetic rifle out there that reaches that cap and its loot only. The downside is that speed begins to factor into the equation unless you have a doctor speed buff or a speed stim. The pistoleer root shot "improved stopping shot" is still a better goal to shoot for though.

Recon armor is great but it isn't the absolutley required. Heck its easier to get voritor scales with health bonuses that go into battle armor than any other type of health modifier.

I would also warn against picking up rifles.
With pistoleer, you're in sabre-throw range at all times.
I would recommend carbines, because you can get in close, Throw some poo/fire, then paralyze/electro drain/thyroid and proceed to kite them with the carbine. You're still out of range, but close enough to hop in and re-apply poison/fire.

The new LLC is awesome...My damage and sac on my new Krayt LLC is better than the damage and SAC of my old Krayt T-21. It's damage is capped and the SAC is in the 80's...not to shabby...As the WS correspondant Mor-Dan(My Friend)says...If you are a MBH Rifleman it is the only rifle you should consider using.
