Thread: MBH/MCM +37 points to spare....

So im wondering if i should just rely on my BH mods for weapons and just keep novice doctor, the heal increase is nice, and being able to heal wounds is pretty sweet, it also drastically increases my stabilizers so i cure status effects pretty good.
Just wondering if thats even worth it, or if im just terribly gimping myself. Just remember that you have the ability to clear states without stabilizers which I always though was kinda redundant. Unless you get up that tree you'll still only clear 1 state per use. Better to make a macro or hotkey with each of your innate state removal skills.
Also why carbine 0400? Does that cert me for proton carbine? Is that why its worth it? or should i take it for the accuracy benefits or what? Because the only good skill i saw in thier was imp crippling shot, but you already can slow people as a MCM pretty well.
A little omre explination on this would be cool. Still unclear if the chemical and weapon snares stack. But if you dont feel like getting within range of their attacks to lay on the chemical snare then crippling shot is something you really want. In addition you get extra carbine mods when you use your spiffy czerka carbine to bypass those pesky PSG's the jedi can now wear..and frequently do.
Also, as a BH/MCM i have no ability to wear recon armor which im told is the jedi killing armor. is that entirely true or will battle or assualt armor which i can wear with no penalty do the job just as well? Because i dont know if i could get enough out of any one pistol tree to get decent enough mods to wear recon armor, but im wondering if its worth taking pistol just for the recon armor. No its not really true. Lightsabers are energy damage but powers are kinetic. There has been a big flux of jedi moving towards Master Powers and foregoing most if not all lightsabers. As an MCM you can wear battle armor which is a good mix of both. Pay the extra cash and get it "quadruple PRIMUS layered" which increases both the energy and kinetic damage instead of increase one and decreasing the other. While recon is best against a lightsaber, battle isn't far behind in protection.
And also, one more random question.
What are the hard caps on melee and ranged defense now? There are no hard caps anymore. The system is now based on "diminishing returns". Sorta like a giant softcap system. As you go higher and higher in defense it takes more and more defense points to increase its effectiveness. +250 melee defense is only slightlybetter than +180 melee defense. Yeah its a bit confusing but there are some charts out there that show how much does what. Can't give you addy for them so you'll have to look them up yourself.
Thanks for the help everyone.

ok here is a dumb question
why does that particular carbine bypass psg?
Thats actually a good question. ![]()
PSG's only defend against ENERGY attacks. The czerka carbine is a KINETIC weapon. You might also want to look into getting the Fallan Hyper rifle (although that might be master rifles, I can't remember) or a crafted Tusken rifle. All of which are kinetic damage.
But doesnt force armor help defend agaisnt kinetic attacks? So over all wouldnt energy be better?
Not like it really matters, because publish 20 is about to ruin jedi hunting.
But still in theory isnt energy more desired because force armor is probably more powerful then a PSG?
Oh well, it can go either way. Best of luck choosing which weapon you want.

Not like it really matters, because publish 20 is about to ruin jedi hunting. Jedi are being brought down to their 1.5x status as promised. You want to be uber l337, wait till the FRS comes out and you actually have to do more than slaughter quenkers.
But still in theory isnt energy more desired because force armor is probably more powerful then a PSG? Who uses force armor over valor? Most jedi are going master defender, master LS or powers, some enhancer and some healing. Swapping defender for valor leaves you exposed to force drain badly.
Listen,
Picking up a little rifleman is not worth it in my opinion. You cant use the T-21 and the advanced laser rifle isnt that great. You are a master combat medic so you have a root, which is the main reason to dabble in pistoleer. None of the defense mods for pistoleer will work if you are using another weapon. I would choose a tree in carbines... i forgot which I choses, the one that gives you the most offensive mods. I have an elite carbine (actually I have like 6 of them) with an SAC of 76 and a max damage around 950. When I dabbled with rifleman, I never found a rifle that I could use that matched my elite carbine. I think if you choose rifleman, you need to max it out and go for major damage. Also, I dont wear armor unless I have full mitigation.
Not necessarily true now that we have the new LLC that uses the modifiers from the rifles trees.

"quadruple PRIMUS layered"
what do u mean with that? what is it? what are the stats? and where can i get some?
It's armor layers. Most of what you buy is unlayered, because the layers require very rare and expensive resources. A quad layered primus, is a suit that has four extra layers that improve your energy and kinetic protections (with a decline in elemental to counter). It'll cost almost twice as much and provide up to around an extra 1200 in protection (which with the diminishing return formula for protection...isn't all that much). You almost always have to have it custom ordered, but if you want the best and have the money...go for it!
