I really don't like the idea of any nerf at all, fixes are the key here. While I understand the griefing issues, and agree that we need balance, why should we be the only class to get hit?

Case in point: Creature handlers use their pets as their weapons, I have seen many who don't ever fire a single shot and they are soloing large mobs. As pets are the weapon of the CH, isn't poison/disease the weapon of the CM?

As with others I agree that if this cap is implemented, it should be for ALL DOTs, not just ours.

We have already suffered nerfs, as have all artisans, with the changes to sampling macros. If you want this incap, then balance it with all professions for a change.

I'll agree to the cap IF the Devs fix the advanced resilience compound......

In that case you can agree. It's fixed on Test where this same cap is in place now. As is CM effectiveness being boosted up from +90 to +100, as is the Ease Of Use bug we had on AoE Diseases.

yeah this master combat medic who's not in our faction has a harvester around our pa, all this person does is drop in radar range, poison, run out, run back, mind poison again, etc. killed 6 people just doing that including hitting on people just doing missions. u think 600 mind poison damage a tick doesnt need to be nerfed eh? each person was dead in less than 5 seconds. face it, it needs to be nerfed, cause it's nothing but cheap when u dont need to fire 1 shot outta ur gun and can kill multiple people in a short time.

Question? How do you stay alive with your radar set to 64m? Most MOBs will see you at 70-90m Try setting it to 128m you will live longer. Also, If you just sit there while he runs in and out of your radar...Posion you once shame on his posion you twice shame on YOU.

To me there are a number of issues that this in some form has tried to address:

  1. CM as raid-busting PvP soloists. Is this part of what we should be? And if so under what conditions?

  2. AOE poisons vs. single cures. Devs have said it's an issues previously and this will address in part.

  3. CM looting rights, faction points and PvE issues.

  4. The role of DOTs and poisons..

  5. Usefullness of diseases..

  6. MCM offensives having a range beyond any other class.

  7. MCM offensives having an accuracy that is beyond other classes in most realistic PvP situations.

This change touches on all of these issues. It seems to me that this vote is not only a vote on the no incap rule in PvP, but also these other things.

I don't think this proposal is perfect. No change is. But it addresses a number of issues. For those who steadfastly support being a PvP soloist I challenge you to tell me if not this, then how are items 6 and 7 addressed? And so far I support it.

Item 6: two ways #1 put a cap on it. That it cannot be experimented over 32m. Or #2 have a SET distance of the stim and use all of the experimentation in effectivness and charges.

Item 7:There is 2 things that will affect this statment. #1 Raising the resistence of the posions or disease. and #2 Take out resistence to them and use the +General Ranged Aiming. We have to take Ranged Weapon support from marksman why can't we use that at the target number? If this is the cast we should get more general aiming bonuses in teh combat support line to show we are getting better at aiming our stims.

I agree wtih the original poster though...what's good for the goose is for the gander. If we can't incap with poisons, then I want to see it the case on ALL DOTs from other PCs and monsters.

I also agree that all DOTs should conform to our if that is what we have to live with so be it for eveyone.

Right now the way we are we are hideously broken. The fact that I can kill somebody without being in the same vicinity is just wrong. It builds up animosity towards us and makes the calls for an even bigger nerf to come.

If you can't do 1 point of damage outside your Poisons, you shouldn't be solo pvping.

Again, we are a support class. Hit the poison, get as far back as possible and just light up the field with heals, let the rest of your squad do the damage.

If you're a TKA, you also have Marksman, grab a CDEF and hit them from range.

A lot of people seem concerned for their 'tactic'. Bah! Find NEW tactics.

I don't want this change. I have read nothing that makes this sound attractive to meother than the correspondents being afraid of an over-alldamage reduction. What are the positives for this change? Certainly not looting rights and faction because now we won't be killing anything with a poison attack. I already get looting rights and fp when I shoot at an enemy.

Are they trying to encourage more of us to drop down to novice medic and use those stim Bs for ourselves? Do they really want every character to be a BH or commando with novice medic and enough CH for a tank pet?

It seems like it.

I vote no to the poorly thought out change. Not only has the issues brought up been addressed a few times by previous posters, it also takes away what little immersiveness of the combat system of this game when you throw in illogical and arbritrary rulesets like poisons stop working at 1 HAM.

If the devs feel that the range or area of effect of poisons is too great, reduce or cap the range and area of effect of poisons.

If the devs feel poisons are too powerful in PVP, reduce their effectiveness in PVP.

If they feel they aren't resisted enough, increase the chance of them being resisted.

If they feel doctors can't counter with cure poisons quickly enough, by all means give doctors an area effect cure poison.

If they feel the cure isn't counteracted quickly enough or that poisons start acting too quickly, give poisons an added 1 tick delay before they work. This would give doctors 16 seconds to counteract the poison before any damage was taken. It would also give any PVP opponent added time to kill the CM before they received any damage from the poison.

If you aren't getting the point yet, I'll be more blunt. The devs should fix the issues that they feel needs tweaking instead of trying to put some silly, poorly thought out band aid to whatever they feel are the real issues.

Once again, we shouldn't have to add laser fire to an already potent poison. By the way, I have a TKA/CM. I rely on my poisons to do ranged damage and if they get close to me I use my fists. Now you're telling me I shall have to chase all my enemies down so i can kick them once? I wish someone would respond to my posts. Or do you just accept the fact that I am right?

Because I think your problem is that you assume you;ve got the perfect character template and I think that maybe you need to rethink your tactics. You don;t have to close with anyone if you don't want to, just put a D17 pistol on your toolbar when the time comes to deal an incap and have at it. It's not like the other guy will be doing anything to you anyways since he won't have any pool points left to do anything. You've been trained how a use a ranged weapon, use it. It's a prerequisite for being a CM to begin with.

I would also state that in no way do I think any DoT is a "primary" weapon. It's a very effective weapon, but it's a support weapon and we are a support class. So I THINK this fix might make sense in taht respect. I still don't know for certain, though as I can't test it.

Couple things here:

1. Me vs. any ranged class after this change....I use poison, they use bleed shot. I could die, they could not. How is this fair?

2. You aren't necessarily trained with a ranged weapon to be a combat medic. I am a master combat medic without ever firing a gun. I used combat xp from unarmed training to go up the ranged support tree.

I have to vote no on this, actually I would rather see the damage nerfed than see the 1 hit point rule go into effect.

At any rate I really wish poison was worth more in PvP.

"Well, I think I need to see this in action more to really make a fully educated assessment. At this point, hwoever, I am leaning more towards being in favor of this change. In large part the items Jacore and Benjen bring up seem, to mea t least, to outweight the need to change a particular PvP tactic. I'm just not so sure that the burst-poison tactic was ever really meant to be a viable tactic for CMs.

Besides I would MUCH rather have this than have the effectiveness of our poisons cut by 75%. If anything we can now argue for morr power in poisons if the other changes coming through do not provide enough of an extra boost."

Anyone else see a problem with this attitude? Very complacent if you ask me......

Sure, let them nerf it and if we don't like it get them to change it back right? Wrong. I don't know what other online games you have played but the track record holds true. If it gets changed, history shows us that it will stay that way and the class will most likely be broken (yes I view this as a nerf) for the rest of the days this game is live. You did a good job when we didn't have a correspondent, how about staying out of the CM's business since we have a new one and focus on doctors.
