his complaint is in fact that combat medics can throw a health poison and then a health disease and create an incap...furthermore the moron is saying he was KILLED by a poison/disease stack.


this is a flat out lie because poison + disease CANNOT kill. it can incap if the disease is not cured, but it cannot kill. he read somewhere that poison + disease incaps and was upset by this, so he came here spouting lies about having been killed from 80 meters by a combat medic using poison + disease.


the 80 meter throw bug is in fact a bug and needs to be fixed. nearly every combat medic agrees on this point, but again i say do not come into a forum and tell lies to try to get a nerf...

if you get incapped 3 times you die. has NOTHING to do with Combat Medic...has nothing to do with a special magical power that Combat Medics have.


go to Dantooine and get yourself incapped 3 times by quenkers, they dont have a death blow, but see what happens after the third incap....

What I meant to say was incap. "if you get incapped 3 times you die" exactly and there is nothing normally wrong with that ... but there is something wrong when I have some super combat medic chucking 80m poisons/ diseases at me and I can't fight back, it's not right. Hell why don't we all go CM, then we can stand 80m away from one another and chuck poisons until someone gets incapped. When you can have a raid on a base that is vul. and have no one enter the base but have a Cm chuck diseases from beyond my field of vision into the **edit**ing base ... SOMETHING IS WRONG THERE. When a CM can poison 20 people from 80m SOMETHING IS WRONG THERE. Wish I could incap 20 people with one click. NERF!

"its the long range aoe poisons that go the farthest, you can toss em say, 82m, then theres an additional 25m spread effect. for a total of 107m from the initial target". Took this from a thread a few scrolls down ... one of your fellow super uber CM's. NERF!

......The Devs are aware of this, and the 64m cap is going in.... Even most CMs agree that the 64m cap is fair...

Also don't tell him that we now can throw poisons and diseases not only as far as other planets but cross server as well. This is true. I was DB:d on Gorath by a Master CM on Farstar using only an exploit in the server.tell system and a power 3 dispersal mechanism.

I swear it.


And that's quite a bit farther than 64 meters.

just to make it clear, the link points to patch notes from December 16, 2003

the points of interest here are:


Combat Medic


  • Combat medic skill mods can no longer increase the range of medicines beyond 64m.
  • The maximum experimental range for ranged healing and DoT medicines has been capped at 48m.
  • Droids and vehicles are no longer affected by combat medic area of effect poison and disease attacks.

an attempt was made at fixing the range, and another attempt is in the works. let us see what happens after publish 6.

Neo, until our AE's are actually capped at 64m, complaining about throwing over 64m IS VALID.

It would be like complaining about high taxes, only to have the government respond with, "Shut up, your complaint is invalid. We've said we're going to lower taxes, and it will happen sometime in the next 25 years."

Until SoE ACTUALLY FIXES throw range, attention should be drawn to it.

Only way a CM could have DB'ed you from any kind of distance is if they happened to also have been a rifleman. CM's cannot kill you with poisons or disease and we do not have a ranged ability to deathblow with any kind of firearm.

Hmmm.... My target is 48m away and I toss an AOE poison with a AOE of 30m = someone can be hit from 78m away. It's called don't group too close in combat!

Same thing could be said for Flame Cone. If you are grouped in a camp and a commando comes running up, it could get REAL ugly
