Thread: Well now that LOS is resolved...
We are now unable to fit the 'combat support' role even, after the LOS nerf, becoz we'll get incapped/ DBedevery time before even reaching the 40m range of target for our poisons.

CM's were never supposed to be combat chars, they are combat support. If you want to do PvP alone get carbineer or pistoleer or rifleman and train in some actual offensive combat instead of just a support role. No one said a CM can only use poison to kill did they? As for thewe looseBh'sargument, what do you expect? They spent more skill points, are dedicated to offensive doctrine, and are supposedly masters of the 1 on 1. You can't really expect a support class to take out the supposed 1 on 1 class with out atleast having some real combat skills. Carbineer really is the best bet for a CM you get the ranged AoE knockdowns which will let you run up and poison the group you nailed and then go back to hiding.
If you have a well balanced group with pistoleers and carbineers you should have no problem getting with 40 meters. The carbineer has amazing abilities to keep targets befuddled while others do the damage to them. Also extra defensive bonuses would help aswell, but remember that if a CM was guaranteed to get within 40 meters every time or throw from the very beginning that they would still be the ultimate PvP proffession since eventuallythe poison is going to drop the group whether they kill you or not.

I don't think awell balanced group with pistoleers and carbineers does need any CM's support. It prolly can kill all enemies before the first tick of CM's poison.
Moreover, whether a CM can drop the whole group is very situational. I hardly could apply a poison to more than 2 ppl each time. And then I needed to wait for like 7-8 seconds to apply another one.
Finally, we don't have any extra defensive bonuses, and even so we will prolly still be one of the first ppl to drop due to the fact that we can't get out of attack range easily.
If you think a well balanced group doesn't need combat medics then you need to try out more major PvP. A combat medic isn't JUST about poison you know, infact a CM is a healer first and foremost and trust me, a group of carbineers and pistoleers would NEED a healer to do any kind of major PvP unless they were just ganking 1 guy at a time. Poison isn't made to kill first its made to be the final stroke, it kills even the victor and hopefully incaps them before they get around to DB'ing everyone, just like bleeds.
You are right, that was the original setup. we got it changed in the general skill-requirement pass so we get the ability to choose to Master 1 wepaon instead of dabbling in all of them and thus beeing effective in none.

Get posioned DOT for -386 mind per tick is way over powered.
What?
I can get shot three to four times from a pistol during that one tick and the damage will be way more than 386.
Get a clue
I think I agree with everything Elenora has listed in her post. If we are to be a combat support class that is fine with me. And in this case I would like to see a Terrain Negotiation bonus added in elsewhere besides Master CM. Plus some of the defensive skills to help us last a bit longer in the field.
Personally, I picked up some pistoleer skills but my damage output is still lower than anyone else in a group. If I start using too many specials someone will get incap or die since heals go into the combat queue.
I think this sums up what needs to be done (thumbsup)

1.) needs to be an extension of range on application to roughly 60m to compete with other weapons...
2.) possiblity of a reexamination of resist rates..i personally have no problems but other people certainly do haveissues with resist rates
3.) we definately need defensive bonuses now that SOE has decided we need to go out into the open...
4.) TN doesnt really help unless u are fighting out in the wilderness on hills...and why would we need burst run efficiency since we can heal ourself...
5.)we need burst run more often not more effciently...
I disagree with some of the points and here is why:
"PvE viability for CMs needs looking at...we totally suck at PvE...some of this cou ld be remedied by attacking combat related items to support line."
Your opinion only. I find PVE extremely easy as a CM unless you try taking on a higher level mob that you should not be taking on Solo.
"DOT stat differences between servers need to also be looked at. While some variation is expected due to differences between servers, some of the difference are so large between servers that its almost unfair."
I Have tested on 3 different servers with friends and found almost the exact same results i achieve. Its all dependant upon the resource. Test Bench: All 3 Master CMs using mind poison at above 270.
Mind damage is still a huge issue in combat...
Im tired of this argument. Extremely tired. Poison and disease are incredibly easy to counteract. If you dont have a medic capable to heal the aforementioned then you should look at grouping with someone with those abilities or by picking up the necessary skills. I dont feel sorry for those that have to give up other skills to do it either. Do not say this as if we all agree to your statement. I dont. Far from it.
As for the supposed LOS fix.... Yes I Love running around an open tent while being able to see someone the almighty SOE gods have deemed "You cannot see your target" O but wait..He can shoot at me right on through that lil ol tent!! O goodie!!
Its not a nerf...It must be new "Features" to enhance our gameplay experience!!!
