Thread: Simple fix to COmbat medic everyone can live with

take away their ability to need Ranged Support to get CM

grant them Mind Healing powers to the same degree they get health/action healing.
that way combat medics WILL be, without a doubt, THE best medic, for combat, in the game. They will be able to heal all wounds, includign those to the weakest pool which is afflicted by PvP combat the most.
The fact is that Docs are better Combat Healers than we are. There are a total of 13 types of "combat damage". By combat damage I refer to damage, states, effects incurred IN COMBAT. Doctors can heal 12 of these while CMs can only heal 5. Yet we are supposed to be the better combat healers? Absolutely ridiculous.Doctors are overall the better "combat healers".
Doctor - Health Damage, Action Damage, Intimdated, Stunned, Dizzy, Blind, Bleeds, Poison, Disease, Wounds, Death, and now Fire
CM - Health Damage, Action Damage, Mind Damage, Bleeds, and Wounds
anyone see a problem with this????? Dont get started on the "im a combat medic becaus eim SUPPOSED to inflict battlefield casulties" stuff. As ive said many times before, CM requires less combat XP for any combat profession in the game (barring master brawler and marksman), and yet has oen of the most effective PvP attacks, somewhat unwarranted.
ANyway this post isnt meant to be a flame or sarcastic.....im honestly throwing out this idea.
If CM's were givent he ability to heal the mind pool, even AOE mind heals, they WOULD BE the BEST medic for combat situations, bar none....peopel would be CM just to be a medic, which currently is lacking in this game.
We have the ability to heal the mind pool, albeit at great cost to our mind. I guess you don't PVP that much since you don't seem to realize there are way more types of damage in combat. I see more of my comrades in arms get taken down by AOE dizzy attacks than anything else. hmm Dizzy....only occurs in combat...yet we the supposed "Best Combat Healers" can't cure it....
when was the last time u saw a CM use area heals to heal peopel up, when instead they could be tossign around poison and disease.......just makes no sense that PvP CM's dont actually play as a MEDIC...medic should coem first for a CM.
I don't go around telling TKAs they can't use KD2, Carbineers their AOE Dizzy attacks, Riflemen SS2, Doctors from enhancing players, BHs from using Eyeshot, Pistoleers using Fanshot....Need I go on? Why should all those classes be able to use their class to their fullest ability yet I as a Master CM should dumb down my playstyle and restrict myself to healing?
just my thoughts ill probably get flamed ebcause i know all you PvPing CM's dont wanna lose the ability to poison the rest of us to death.....but if u were able to drop the combat pre-req's and get the most sought after heal int he game (namely a mind heal) wouldnt that even the slate a bit?
If CMs lost the ability to poison and disease then there would be no point in playing a CM. I'll admitwhen I started CM 2weeks after launch the ranged healing appealed to me. Back thenwe were just learningthe abilities of our classes. Nowadays, it is not worth it to spend the points for ranged healing and a weak, semi-useful, ridiculously random, debilitating mind heal. Try playing a Master CM for more than a month and you will understand our point of view.

if i took CM it would be to play a medic. Thats what a COmbat medic is first and foremost....a medic.
they should give u guys the ability to heal state effects (altho that steps ont he toes of SL's too). But you guys can area heal, which no doctor can do. YOu also have ranged stims.
if they gave u the ability to do mind healing with ranged stims and area stims, the same manner by which u heal physical damage, and make it fairly easy....then there would still be a huge demand for CM's. The onyl class int he game able to stim minds easily.
give me a break....all you CM's are whinign that your class would be demolished if your poison and disease were taken away. Drop the ranged support requirements and i dotn see what the big deal is. The only big deal is all of you PvP'ing CM's cant live without being able to run around poisoning people liek mad all day.
if you want respect as a combat class....then you should need 300k combat XP in your requirements boxes to gain master like every other true combat class.....what ive state dhere is an offer for CM's to gain a very powerful and DESIRED ability (stimming minds easily) and knock out the combat req's altogether so that no CM has to complain abotu needing combat XP for a non-combat class. It also frees up 14 more skill points to use to go into an elite combat profession.
and ive probably done more PvP than most of you posting heh, but nice comment anyway Gnuut

Mind heal is next to useless because it makes so many wounds (and you cant use it on yourself) so its usually only used in cantinas to help entertainers level, poisons arnt as easy to make or find good resources for as stims andany doc with with cure poison makes poisons and diseases useless. Poison/disease isnt like: e.g. a headshot or eye shotwhere they can just keep them coming for free.
I don't think you read the original post.

If you choose to use only one third of your abilities then that's your prerogative. I choose to use a CM to their fullest ability.

Ranged and area heals don't compare to being able to heal dizzy states when your team is doing the dizzy dance. Like I have argued many times and no one has bothered to counter, we are supposed to be the best combat healers yet we can't heal over half of all combat damage.

You still aren't looking at the big picture. Mind damage doesn't always come into play in PVP. That is why I commented you obviously haven't done much PVP.

No different than a Commando who lays on a burn then runs, or any combat class that lays on a bleed. If you get poisoned and diseased then find yourself a Doc and you'll be fine.

XP in this game is a joke, even combat XP. The only XP that is truly hard to obtain is jedi XP and investigation XP.

Mind stimming still wouldn't make us the overall best combat healer you make us out to be. Giving us the ability to heal the majority of all combat damage, more than a doctor currently can would.
and ive probably done more PvP than most of you posting heh, but nice comment anyway GnuutYou could say that but until you've actually been in our shoes, you don't know for sure. There is always someone out there better than you and has seen more...

your joking right?
your trying to tell me i havnt doen much PvP and yet u r sitting over there telling me mind damage isnt a big deal???????
that is why this HAS BEEN such a big deal. On my server i would have to say 75% or more of the incapacitations i have seen in PvP combat coem from the mind pool!
what do you target when ure facing an opposing force of buffed combatants?? the mind pool. And on my server if you plan to launch a raid, you always buff first. I see peopel not wearing armor, and sometime snot buffing.......and even occasionally these peopel r the ones who didnt get jumped on. But most organized PvP is pretyt much get buffed get armor get organized go raid.
the last 10 PvP fights i have bene in ahve involved buffed, composited players. Am i gonan target that 3k health pool with my rifleand poisons? ofc im not.
personally i cant remember the last time i took an incap from health or action.
I'd be just happy if the entire profession was removed from the game.

HAHAHA, amen to that brother.
