Thread: Oh god; Please stop the boredom
Intrepid, MikeB, well said. I agree totally.
Join a PA, go hunt in groups, explore unknown areas (e.g. the volcano on Lok). Heal people heal people heal people. Their appreciation should count for something against boredom.
never in my gaming history have i played such an incomplete game, the reason why we max out so fast is because there is little else to do, I myself have been to every planet, discovered some rare hard to get to places, I have played multiple classes mastering a few of them, I have spent all my money trying to make my characters more fun but still... it does get boring.
If they fixxed the static NPC's alone, that would give us a month or so of new content to play with. PA's in the game are pointless other than to make friends. there needs to be more to do... PvP is only fun for a little while but as I trudge around with my AT-ST's obliterating any rebel I see it gets boring... boring... boring...

This is not a flame but an observation and opinion..
I ammaxed on CM, 2 doctor trees, andthe rest in pistoleer and I still have not seen half of the content in the game, made my first trip to Dathomir just tonight.
Sounds like you did most of your healing in the med center. That seems kind of boring there.
Do what I did, put yourself up for hire to accompany groups to other planets. Make money, see more places and work with different types of groups. A Master Combat Medic that can rez and enhance is a valuable asset, more than some realize. Not to mention having your elite weapons skills you can contribute if necessary.
If you are just not enjoying CM then maybe you picked the wrong profession. Eventually all professions will max out so you need to like what you are doing, or just try something new.
Been to dath.. endor.. emp's retreat on naboo. .yavin.. and various other places.. I wasn't a medical lab CM I started as a carbineer. medic.. then combat medic was a second thought for me. .
and I jumped on board pretty early at that.
I've 'explored' all there is to explore.. FS slot aside (assuming FS slot even has anything to do with 'finding' something) there's no reason to explore.. rewards.. aren't there.. drops don't happen .. exp is pointless.. faction.. we've already been over that (as a rebel it's pointless)

I do agree that medic classes are very easy to level in, i just got master medic less than an hour ago, and it only took me two weekends, less than two weekends really. I am looking forward to becoming master combat medic /master pistoleer... because by the time i do we will have spaceships in game.
If your searching for ideas to spice up your experience i have some suggestions:
-participate in pvp, whenever i get bored of something i hunt rebels in the outskirts of bestine... always seems to get me interested again
-make sure your class is for you, possibly switch classes
-start trying to unlock your force sensitive slot, who knows you just might get it
-do the themeparks, Jabba, Rebel, Imperial, whatever
-dedicate some time to helping/training new players/those who need training
-make sure your class is for you, possibly switch classes
Class is for me .. this was well thought out.
-start trying to unlock your force sensitive slot, who knows you just might get it
If being a jedi is anything like this .. I'm not interested sorry.
-do the themeparks, Jabba, Rebel, Imperial, whatever
been there.. done that.. bugged. and boring.
-dedicate some time to helping/training new players/those who need training
I power levels as I 'chat' cuz I have nothing else to do.. this isnt 'fun' and I'm gaining nothing out of it except speeding along some poor lowbies exp bar so they can feel like a capped out loser like I am..
We need something else here. and I don't think it's lack of creativity on my part.
-participate in pvp, whenever i get bored of something i hunt rebels in the outskirts of bestine... always seems to get me interested again
I am a rebel.. AT-ST's have completely ruined PvP for me.. as I no longer pvp .. I just grief. over and over again .. few chuckles at people spazzing out. .aside from that you can't actually 'fight' at-st's .. and about half of the imperials who activley pvp have them (note I said 1/2 of the ones that pvp.. not 1/2 of all imps..)
I'm a rebel.. prolly a mistake .. seeing as how sony thinks imperials should be stronger.. the game is fustering more than fun.. and quite boring to boot after you cap out

Why does everyone feel the urge to powergame?
I admit that I rushed to combat medic... healing peoples pets while they tanked on difficult Lok missions got me up the medic skill tree in no time.
And I can't really do anything as a 0-0-1-2 combat medic (can't use my own area poisons or diseases). But I enjoy using my weak poisons (if they aren't resisted) on imperials while raiding bestine, they don't do too much damage, but I love seeing the little poison cloud and the skull and cross bones next to their names.
I do powercraft while waiting for shuttles and following a group mate...
but that's it... I haven't sat down and powergamed since I hit combat medic a week ago. I just do missions on Dantooine, get my butt handed to me, heal my teammates, and craft a few stims in the meantime. I'm slowly climbing the carbineer and CM ladder, and I enjoy it.
OK ok ok... some people don't want to be weak... some would rather be all or nothing... so then why do you complain that there's no point to the game once you hit master?
I can't believe it when peoplerush to be master sothey canbe done getting xp... thencomplain thatthey don't need to get xp.
Can anyone explain this phenomena to me?
For starters I'm a rebel.. if your not capped out on your characters ability you stand ZERO chance vs an at-st.. even then you still die.. I thought that if I levelled enough they would become tolerable. 1-2shotting isn't 'tolerable' especially when they can have 3.
Hello,
It's funny cause 2 weeks after release, I wrote a post about how the lvlign was to fast and it would kill the game in 3 months... and I go flamed for it.
But guess I was not that wrong hehe! Take a 2 weeks brake and come back. Worked for me... till I get bored again. Lineage 2 is due out eventually mouhahahah!
Look, folks, if leveling was the fun part of the game for you (I hated it) then it sounds to me like you're done. Maybe try another character, if you like, or just learn all new skills with this one to get something else to Master in. Or see if you can figure out how to open your FS slot so you can Master the Force Powers.
Otherwise, if none of that interests you, and you enjoyed playing the game to get this far, congratulations, you beat the game!
Of course if you prefer some of the other stuff the game has to offer, the RPing, the PvPing, finding new tactics to use, new beasties/NPCs to fight, "leveling" up in faction, doing quests, exploring places and so on, then stick around. It sounds like you've got a whole lot left to check out. But if that stuff isn't fun for you, don't play. Simple as that, IMHO.
Frankly I love being a master combat medic... took me a while and i did power craft the last 2 boxes... But its only gotten better since then. Now i have time to explore all the planets, help my other PA members get thier lvls and xp they need. Oh and running around a corner with a mind area poison C pack at some IMPs is great. Just remember have fun with what you do... sure there are bugs galore but hey there is always a way to have fun.

I feel your pain, but your reasoning is not too sound. Content will not make the game more fun, it will just keep you paying 15 bucks until you've "done it all" again.
Anyone who steps back and looks at this game objectively can see that it will get very boring in a limited amount of time. For everyone but the hard-core starwars geek.
RISK is what is needed in this game. There is none, at all. They need to re-instate insurance, but cap it. Only allow players to insure 1-5 items in their inventory. And make the price for insurance scale per planet. If you want to hunt on Endor, your insurance is going to cost you, a lot. You want to hunt on Talus... not so much.
PvP is no fun at all for a lot of reasons. AT-ST's. Not that they're there, but there is no way to counter them,
House sniping, broken TEF mechanics, all of these things make PvP not very enjoyable, but you can play through them. The one thing that KILLS PvP, is there is NO RISK, and NO REWARD. Implement Insurance as I've stated above (AFTER fixing House sniping and TEF mechanics) and if I get caught with my pants down in a cantina full of gImps... I lose my stuff. Period.
Everyone may not agree, but if you look into your gaming "heart" you will realize that you have the most fun playing a game when your heart is pounding after you escaped that Rancor and certain death and dismemberment by a sliver of health, knowing that you'd lose the 20,000 Copper w/ 999 OQ that you JUST pulled out of your harvestor.
When's the last time you looked at a Pac-Man game and said, "Man, I'd love to play that game. If only they'd take out the ghosts..."
When's the last time you played Galaga and said "Crap, stupid space-ships! I'm not playing this game again until they make it so the ships don't shoot at me and just float at the top of the screen, waiting for me to shoot them!"
I'll answer it for you. You never did. Why? Because you were 13 years old and that quarter in the slot meant a lot to you. You were risking that quarter against a chance, just a chance of putting your initials on that high-score board. You can't sit there, look me in the virtual "eye" and say that the reason your hands were sweating around that joystick controller as you clear the 12th level of Pac-Man with 1 life left and the red ghost breathing down your neck, was Content.
