Combat Medic Archive
Thread: Oh god; Please stop the boredom
I'm sure flames will abound here.. but combat medic is disgustinly easy to master. crafting your own woundpacks and stims.. healing in the med center.. you can go from novice medic to master CM in approx 7-9 days. (with 1 night of straight grinding) I'm master CM .. I have been for aeons. . got all the resources ect. I'd try to make 'the best possible ones' however with our components still being considering in the medic/doctor experimentation lines .. it's not worth the time/effort.
In a nut shell.. I've quickly maxed out CM .. and Carbineer.. I'm capped on points.. and rebel to boot
No reason to gain exp.. no reason to gain faction (rebel can't buy jack..)
I sit running missions on dantooine usually getting money for maint.. Please tell me there is gonna be more to this class (other classes) ..
I'm sorry for the general (semi-off topic) post.. I'm looking at for how many people are capped out fusterated/bored. with this game already?
hate to say it, but its not just being a CM that has this problem
This is how it is for every class.
I've played a ridiculously wide range of classes since release, it all eventually boils down to nothing.
Hell I've been switching around a lot mostly just to give me something to exp for while I look into the FS slot.
There is NOTHING to do. As you said, being a rebel pretty much kills any desire for faction, I'm just getting ranks because everything else sucks.
Hell its been like this for a few weeks for me, but I keep saying "oh they'll fix that eventually" except they don't.
Just for an example, there are 3 static quest NPCs in Moenia that have been spitting out code strings for 4 months. FOUR MONTHS!
75% of the static quest NPCs in the **edit** game either don't work at all, speak in nothing but code strings, or lead to absurdly broken quests. Example: senator at deeja peak, you'd think the Devs would know how to make an imperial base spawn when its supposed to, and not a pack of talking narglatches in its place (I wish I was joking).
The Devs wonder why people aren't interacting with NPCs much? That's because we can't.
As for CM specific.. been there done that, unfortunately I was early in CM around the time they made AoE mind poison absurdly overpowered. I surrendered all my skills when I started seeing 30 more CMs the next day.
Yeah, I have the same problem, I've switched professions so many times, first I was a decently high Swordsman/Novice Rifleman, then I switched to Expert Bounty Hunter/Low level Pistoleer, then to Dirty Fighting IV (Smuggler)/Medium level TKA, now I've switched to Master Combat Medic/Low Pistoleer...
Next I may get so desperate that I try crafting...
This is not a flame but an observation and opinion..
I ammaxed on CM, 2 doctor trees, andthe rest in pistoleer and I still have not seen half of the content in the game, made my first trip to Dathomir just tonight.
Sounds like you did most of your healing in the med center. That seems kind of boring there.
Do what I did, put yourself up for hire to accompany groups to other planets. Make money, see more places and work with different types of groups. A Master Combat Medic that can rez and enhance is a valuable asset, more than some realize. Not to mention having your elite weapons skills you can contribute if necessary.
If you are just not enjoying CM then maybe you picked the wrong profession. Eventually all professions will max out so you need to like what you are doing, or just try something new.
They need to come up with something.. this faction war of watching my ass get owned by any crafter with an AT-ST is getting old.. fast.
Content. .content.. gimmie a reason to keep playing.. more skills would be ideal ![]()
I totally agree... I too have been profession hopping out of boredom... It seems that professions are trends now... There was a time when everyone was a CH, then a BH, then a doctor, and so on while other professioins are more scarce... I'm seriously considering cancelling this subscription and finding another game where my character has room to grow... I just gave up BH for CM, like 100 other people... Now I can't even solo a mission to make decent money to craft stimps, etc... and a lot of groups talk too much or don't know the first thing about teamwork or group combat... which leads to free trips to the cloning center and more wasted time at $15 per month... <sigh>
Besides, this seems more like a "Jurassic Park" or "Island of Dr. Moreau" <spelling> than a "Star Wars" game anyway with all the weird hybrid creatures and dinosaurs all around... and they are the same on all the planets, only with different names, sizes, and colors... couldn't the game artists have more originality?
Where are the promised player mounts and vehicles? Too much time spent running around...
I apologize for ranting, but this is depressing...
80% of my time spent in game now is checking on my factory and gathering resources/funds.
I do agree that medic classes are very easy to level in, i just got master medic less than an hour ago, and it only took me two weekends, less than two weekends really. I am looking forward to becoming master combat medic /master pistoleer... because by the time i do we will have spaceships in game.
If your searching for ideas to spice up your experience i have some suggestions:
-participate in pvp, whenever i get bored of something i hunt rebels in the outskirts of bestine... always seems to get me interested again
-make sure your class is for you, possibly switch classes
-start trying to unlock your force sensitive slot, who knows you just might get it
-do the themeparks, Jabba, Rebel, Imperial, whatever
-dedicate some time to helping/training new players/those who need training
Well...this will prolly get me flamed. ![]()
You guys and gals complaining that you are bored of the game already and that you have maxed out your skills and have nothing to do....OMG....why not try turning off the computer for a while and go outside? I know some of you are hard-core players (if hours spent playing determined hard-core then you can count me as one too) but stop raggin on SOE that they have broken NPC's and that you are finding limited content. I don't think they had it planned that you guys are gonna max out your skill tree in a week because you decided to grind and grind and grind. GOD...no wonder you are bored.
I was a hard-core EQ player for 3 years and NEVER did I grind and grind. I took the game as a GAME and had fun with it. I knew that in the real world the game meant NOTHING and so rather than trying to make a career out of playing a MMORPG I played it to have fun.
You people whining that things are broken...even after 4 years of EQ they are STILL fixing stuff. That is the way these things work. The ones that complain the loudest have no understanding of the monumental task that is involved in creating and maintaining a game like this. (Um...no....I dont work for SOE)
Why not try to enjoy the game as a game? I guess that is the whole point of this post. Go visit the worlds. Go help some noobs. Go make some friends. Get your xp while you do these things and you will find that you wont max out in a week and you might even have some fun along the way. What is the point of rushing to be the first and best when in the end you hate the game because you have beat it before they have even come out with the first expansion pack?
Anyway, thanks for reading. No disrespect intended to anyone offended.
If you happen to be on Intrepid and see a pointy headed CM, feel free to test my pvp abilities (or lack there-of). Most of all...have fun with it. It is after all just a game.
Maybe this is an off-topic question but how do you become a master combat medic in 10 hours?? I've gone out to the tusken fort a few times and a few themeparks, battlefields etc...and I can't scrounge up over several hundred thousand xp in 10 hours...
He was probably using the pet healing 'exploit' by actualy exploiting it.
I don't think healing pets for exp in the course of fighting mobs you intend to kill as 'exploiting' but it seems there were quite a few people who were either nearly suiciding their pets on mobs intentionally and/or dueling pets and healing them afterwards, thus TRULY exploiting it.
I'm sure he was another guy who was exploiting the Jax Missions and later the Baz Nitches.. I partly blame SOE for not actually testing these things or not being smart enough to realize that if its 'easy' and profitable people will do it ALOT. I also blame the players who do such 'exploits' and then whine how 'easy' things are.. Well, DUH, I'd like to see you start your character over and try these missions/exploits again. I hardly think you can get Master CM in 10 hours NOW with the pet healing nerf, let alone afford all the ingredients for the crafting tree without your mission exploits..
Why does everyone feel the urge to powergame?
I admit that I rushed to combat medic... healing peoples pets while they tanked on difficult Lok missions got me up the medic skill tree in no time.
And I can't really do anything as a 0-0-1-2 combat medic (can't use my own area poisons or diseases). But I enjoy using my weak poisons (if they aren't resisted) on imperials while raiding bestine, they don't do too much damage, but I love seeing the little poison cloud and the skull and cross bones next to their names.
I do powercraft while waiting for shuttles and following a group mate...
but that's it... I haven't sat down and powergamed since I hit combat medic a week ago. I just do missions on Dantooine, get my butt handed to me, heal my teammates, and craft a few stims in the meantime. I'm slowly climbing the carbineer and CM ladder, and I enjoy it.
OK ok ok... some people don't want to be weak... some would rather be all or nothing... so then why do you complain that there's no point to the game once you hit master?
I can't believe it when peoplerush to be master sothey canbe done getting xp... thencomplain thatthey don't need to get xp.
Can anyone explain this phenomena to me?
