Thread: We're in need of a new Combat Medic Correspondent!

Maybe it's just me but the CM boards are one of the best "self moderated" boards. All the masters of the profession seem to have a VERY good idea about what is going on in the game. This stems from the fact we are crafters (lok, dantooine, Talus, Tatooine, Yavin anyone?), a support class, and (somewhat anyways) a combat class.

I for one do not think that the compiled list was shoddy at all. It shows the issues we are having in a concise ordered manner. As for the statement "We will still continue to monitor the forums and read as many threads as we can. The correspondent is just to help us focus on the top issues of the profession." Well we have listed our top issues, nowprovethis to us in this forum by responding to our issues. I for one am getting tired of the no responce by Devs in regards to the combat medic.

I know I don't post as much as some others but would anyone disprove of me running for CM correspondent?

they are changing the design of the correspondent program, instead of sending in emails with no feedback it's gona be a forum with open discussion (though limited to devs/correspondents)

good move imho.

and Xahn: do those that sent a mail since filthy left need to send it again?

This just makes me sad... I would consider Volunteering if this were a free game, but since i am paying for this i think its only fair people do what they are hired to do...

You can thank some Originvolunteers for that one (if I remember correctly). Compensation for work done by volunteers now leaves companies open to lawsuits by said volunteers seeking wages, as compensation denotes employment rather than voluntary contribution. They sued, won, and single-handedly destroyed one of the best methods for MMORPG's to properly serve their player base.

Stupid, isn't it?

I have expressed an interest through email in becomming the new Combat Medic Correspondent. I have played the class for roughly 2 months. I run a CM supply shop on the Bloodfin server. Being from the Bloodfin server, and as a member of The Regulators, I have had a lot of chances to use the Combat Medic class both in PVP and PVE. I've taken metal notes of where the weaknesses and strengths are in our abilities. I would like to be the CM Correspondent for one main reason:

I am tired of sitting on the sidelines, hearing people bicker about problems with balance, broken aspects of classes, etc. It is time that I give something back to the game. I still have hope that this game can become the game we all hoped it would be at release. Instead of sitting back and waiting for that to happen on its own, I will take the role upon myself if chosen to act as the voice of the people, and try to get things fixed. I would settle for our class just working the way it was supposed to in the first place, all class enhancements aside. The developers need to fix the existing class before adding on to it. Only after the class is fully working properly, can we truly see what needs to be done to the class.

If I gather support here, possibly it will influence their decision on the next person for the job. I have played MMORPGs for 4 years, and have been looking forward to SWG for some time. I've played since the day of release, as I was not accepted into the beta. I've not seen too many people willing to step up to this position, and I realize that it will be a lot of work ahead. With your support, opinions, and ideas...hopefully we can get this profession on track to where it should be.

Thanks,

Do not worry. I put in my application too, so you are not only doomed, but are going to be led astray as well. Should be fun. Hehe.

Let me just say something briefly here.

Being a correspondent is a S H I T job. You won't get the type of feed back you're looking for, nor will you get the appreciation of your fellow Combat Medics. They'll always bicker, complain, whining, moan and bitch about something. And they'll do that to you, the new correspondent, expecting you somehow miraculously fix all the problems.

For those who volunteer for this position, I sincerely hope that you have the tenacity to stick it out. I see a lot of potential for this profession, the reward at the end of the tunnel is great, but the path through the darkness is trecherous. Combat Medics may have to deal with worse before it gets better.

One day, in the not so distance future, perhaps we can all look back on this and say, 'I stuck out through all this crap'

And a lot of crap it is, so far.
