The Development Team is looking for a volunteer correspondent for the Combat Medic Profession. Participation is completely voluntary and you can stop helping out at any time. We’re just looking for someone who can help us sort through the various issues for this profession.
If this is something you are interested in, please write a short paragraph on why you think you would be a good candidate and email it to [email protected]. Please put Combat Medic in the Subject Line and include your SWG handle in the message. By submitting this email to us, you agree to allow us to contact you in connection with Star Wars Galaxies and agree that all correspondence with and material submitted to SOE will be the exclusive property of SOE and SOE may use such materials without limitation and in its sole discretion.
After we have reviewed the submissions, we will pick one person to be our correspondent. We will set them up with a special community title here on the forums and ask them to help highlight for us the relevant issues relating to this profession.
Don’t get too attached to the title though; In the interest of well-rounded feedback, once a month we may select a new correspondent. Please do not take that personally, we just want to be fair and give other people an opportunity.
We will still continue to monitor the forums and read as many threads as we can. The correspondent is just to help us focus on the top issues of the profession.
Thank you,
Kevin "Q-3PO" O'Hara
SWG Community Relations Manager
And just went I sent a PM asking about this he sneaks it in on me. ![]()
Xahn, just ignore part 1 of that PM I sent you, since it looks like you already did it for us. Thanks!
I still need help on part 2, though.
Glad to see you here Xahn,
Iam very interested in volunteering, but I think there are some issues thatneed tobe addressed before anyone volunteers for the post.
Can we get a reply on the previous correspondent's issues?
We have not heard anything from Holos request for information on the CMs crafting issues.
Shug_Nix asked in the Doctors forum why the old Combat Medics had left and become Doctors. There were many good replys to his question.
And still, the Combat Medics wait, without communication.
Correspondent sounds great, but so far, it seems like a useless title. Many people here have some very good ideas, but we see this as a one way street. Without a commitment and actual feedback from SOE, the position doesn't seem to accomplish anything, and worse, it makes it appear we are being neglected. Perhaps this second round will be more productive.
P.S. Zarlot (?) has been doing a good job helping stepping in when our correspondent stepped out. I would consider him a worthy choice also.
zarlor has also said that he really would rather only do the work of one man ![]()
HoTron-Rex is right. As it is I consider the list on this forum to be rather shoddy compared to what I've compiled for the Docs. I just could not do both forums, and I don't think I could do CM the real justice it deserves anyways. We need someone who considers themself a CM first. For me, I'm a Doc first, CM second. I don't want to short-change this side of my profession choices simply because one of the professions would have to suffer having less of my attention than the other.
So trust me, you don't want me to be both. And I was asked if I wanted to be CM Correspondent instead, but I respectfully declined letting Xahn know that I was just helping out here in the stead of Filthy. (I still can't ever get over that name!
)
An, HoTron-Rex, this post doesn't show up on Dev tracker because Xahn isn't a Dev (at least not in that sense), he's a moderator. So he's a Yellow name like CSRs and such are as well, not a Red name Dev which is all DevTracker follows.
I also think that probably means that Xahn isn't really the guy to be bothering about class issues or anything either.
/emote puts two and two together.....
good point Zarlor, i never realized that
You dont need a new CM correspondent. What YOU need to do is read the original issues with the CM class that were posted by the previous correspondent.
All of the CM crafting issues are still valid. You dont need a new correspondent to fix the original issuesthathave still not been addressed.
