There is also a CH nerf on test center making pet tanks much less valuable. For example, the light armor 75% kinetic resist graul mauler goes to no armor and 35% kinetic resist. So they removed 3/4ths of the pets effective HAM.
That combined with the melee defensive improvementsmeans that you will see more melee tanks, who will need healing.
Healing pets would be a great thing to bring back for gaining xp. I dont get xp anymore, so I heal pets all the time... doesnt matter to me what I heal, as long as it is doing the group some good.
I just feel very bad for people needing the xp if it goes live from TC in its current state
Hassle: I can assure you that the reason they are looking into making this kind of change actually had diddley squat to do with healing. It had to do with combat specials and dealing with the combat classes.
Just remember, this is IN TEST. The correspondents were even told that the Devs don't know if they will be going with this kind of change or not. It may never see the light of day.
We've also been assured there will be a LOT of tweaking done to the system AND that if it is found that the medic classes are losing out too much on XP that there would be some considerations given in that direction. The things I can think of there might be stuff like allowing XP for pet healing back in, reduction of XP requirements for level gains, increases in XP gained from healing actions and so on.
It does us no good to sit here and assume the worst of intentions. It does do us good to try to get onto TC, test this stuff out and then provide some feedback to the Devs on the TC forum and here about hwo things seem to be shaping up and how they affect our professions. Just try it with an open mind first before condemning it as some non-existent conspiratorial vendetta the Devs have against the healing professions.
