It's nice to see someone else bring up this long overlooked topic. I posted this a while back during the testing phase of CU but it didn't seem to get much traction.
Ok enough of that... I do support it and am really glad you've called attention to it.
I imagined this to be in the prereq's of a CM's & a Doc's tree.
Adding that the point of this isn't necessarily for healing... often times it's to get the suffering/incapped/dead player away from eminent danger so they aren't aggro'd the second their health gets to anything above over 0.
Some of the hate changes might cause this to be less of an issue... Then again I haven't been to DWB or corvette since CU.
Plus it's a great game to play catch between 2 people with the skill. I'd also like see drag corpse come back. Makes for long term games of catch. Uh and I guess you could drag a corpse somewhere safe to res them. But playing catch is so much fun.

That's not the most intelligent thing to do in the age of Triple Incaps.
Drag them back behind your Front Line, and THEN heal them. Otherwise you will get them killed.
True, that slipped my mind.Probably because I tend to work with Jedi, who can heal themselve for a high enough damage as soon as I get them up. (don't know if the whole "working more with Jedi than not" is a good thing though, but meh)
I've been Triple-Incapped even with 2 Jedi healing me and my own heals. When people want you dead they will kill you.

Can we get a confirmation on the range for Drag? I know it's over 10m I wouldn't be surprised if it's at least 25. My point is that you don't have to get close to use it which makes it a little more useful to docs I guess. Of course the point about the 3x incap stands as well. If a CM gives them a toss and they stand up where they are they're probably gonna get smeared so dragging them is still the best move. I think both professions should have it.
Personally I'd like to see it reworked a bit though. I think it would work well as a toggle feature. I'd like to hit the drag button and automatically have a corpse follow me everywhere I go until I let go of it. There should be a significant reduction in movement speed that can only be countered with burst run etc.
Didn't mean to get off topic.

Somehow this thread gives me the impression that you've all forgotten what the difference is between a combat medic and a doctor... Combat medics are, shoot adrug into a wounded solder or quick emergency tending to injuries on the spot, while doctors are intensive care, health fanatics who usually prefer to have their scalpul on a clean silver tray.
Or to reword that a bit; Combat Medics throwdrugs and kneel over the wounded to quickly get them back on their feet, while doctors drag themto safetyso they can apply a FULL heal and some buffs before sending the guy back into the fight. (which kindaseems like a lost consept on the game mechanics side too because you can't get exp unless you heal somebody who's engaged in combat =P but that's off topic.)
You know after comparing them like this, I'm considering getting doctor instead... Sounds like fun. =3 *plays with skill tree*
Realistically, Doctors shouldn't be on the front line at all. They should be tending the wounds of the soldiers that had been dragged there by the CMs.

The Range on Drag *appears* to be 22 meters. A far cry from the 30m pre-CU.

my point in this is that BOTH docs and cm should have this ability--not a debate on who should get it---how can you realistically say that a master doc or master cm has the know how to ressurect a person back from the dead yet doesnt have the mental abilities to drag someone 10m. Doesnt that seem a tad retarded?

dont see why doctors need this tbh
Didn't you hear? Docs have to heal in combat now, sort of like a uh....um.....combat medic, except they don't have any ranged heals, so they'd have to drag someone closer to be of any use. Notice I didn't say 'in order to be useful' :-P
By the way my drag is 26m. Why are these coming up different for different people? Is it tied to a med stat?
