Thread: Should everyone who PVPs be a combat medic?

TKA is a cannon source as being star warsy.
hunting rancors isnt starwarsy.
How did they catch the rancor at jabbas palace? Im sure the creature tamer had some lairs aggro on him before he got one he could tame

Mild-Breeze-Trooper fair enough I see by your tag you agree with certain things. It just seems the CM forum is the most heavily defended by alot of people who think everything is fine with the CM profession.
My point was if it is left like it is, then everyone who PVPs should be CM/Rifleman. I also find it hard to believe that the least Star Warsy of the combat professions is the uber template.It should be Jedi, then BH then Pistoleer (Han and Luke kick some serious ass with pistols).
As it stands Pistoleer is probably the worst PVP profession there is, poor souls.
But he must have been overt in Cloud City, how could the ST's target him otherwise?

TKA is a cannon source as being star warsy. - Actually its non-canon and already been posted on the tk boards as such. It never appeared in anything by George Lucas which is the only thing considered "canon". TK's are what happens when a writer takes a tae kwon do class and thinks he could have fought and beaten anybody from the medieval age.

Watch the films again more closely.- Did that and realize one thing. If the ST's were as elite in the movies as they were in the books then we wouldn't have gotten past episode 4. I think my 2 year old cousin can hit someone from 10 feet away, let alone with volley fire.

Last night I fought two people while I was unbuffed and unarmored. Both were riflemen.
The first fight ended up with them both white barred, but I had screwed up and put 5 poisons on them instead of 4 and 1 disease.
The 2nd was a solo event against one of the riflmen, he 3 incapped and I died.
The 3rd was a solo event against the other rifleman, he 3 incapped and I died.
Both of them were in full armor with full buffs. The 2nd guy had 3k worth of mind, which the stacked poison dropped to 1 very quickly.
Havla screws everything up, otherwise what I said above was true.

Yes it will do something. Last time I checked CM's go for the mind which isnt exactly healable and the only way your mind is gonna get around 3K is to take brandy and get dancer/musician buffs.

Trust me a long awaited nerf is coming, a dot that is thrown from 95m and has a 99.9% chance to hit, that bypasses armor, that can be spammed and has no immunity time,has no regard to the75% damage reduction,which comes fromaSUPPORTclass doesnt seem overpowered to me.
I will name lots of profs that are unstarwayrsy. Tailor. Chef. Doctor. Swordsman. Image designer. this game would suck if it were only people running around with blasters and waving glow sticks. There has to be some variety.

Im just wondering, do combat medics want to see everyone who PVPs to become combat medics? As in effect your pretty much worthless in PVP unless your combat medic/rifleman. Those mind ticks are massive and eat through your mind which you cannot stim heal. Add to the master head shot and your dead in no time.
So Star Wars Galaxies will basically become Combat Medic Galaxies (and may I add that Combat Medic is not a very 'star warsy' profession, name one combat medic in any of the films? lol). And even throughout history of real wars when has a combat medic been the most offensive persons on the battlefield? Never.... so why are they here?
Getting back onto topic, do you guys really think you should be able to throw poisons/diseases for 96m and through walls? Also if they do give CMs a 75% reduction you will still be doing 150-200 damage in PVP, which is still pretty decent and in line with other combat professions....
So do you think combat medic should be the uber profession for PVP, and if you do think that, would you be happy to see PVP pretty much everyone as CM/RM? Or do you think thats really not SWG pvp should be like?
