Thread: Anti-CM tactics...

Anyways, back to my orignal posts, is there any other tactic for beating a CM besides a doc? Or is that the absolutly only way to beat a CM that has just as much armor as you do?
How do you beat a TKM/Rifleman stacked to his teeth with synthsteak and pixied till he sprinkles dust as he moves? Buffed through the roof and packing 90% Composite and a 35% stun PSG?
If you just remember to max out your blues and time the Moun correctly you can beat the CM in exactly the same way.
The problem obviously isn't CMs it's buffs, foods, armors and people wanting someone to blame.
A similar thread was started on the Kauri boards a few weeks ago. My thoughts from that post....
- Don't leave your friends incapped or their corpses out in the open. I don't know how many times I have told you all about this and have had to demonstrate it to get the point across. I will use a corpse to bounce that AE.
- Clear any surrounding mobs if possible that can also be used as a target to bounce an AE. (Personally I am notorious for agroing a nuna to a base)
- Spread out and flank the CM if possible. He can't cover all sides at the same time.
- The area stat on an AE med is radius. Generally this can vary from 17m - 40m.
- A CM is most vulnerable after tossing a poison, disease or even a heal. Once you see them toss anything you have 4 seconds of carte blanche to hand them their ass.
- A doctor cures poisons and diseases in a default order. They cannot choose to cure mind poison first if a health poison is on you. The order is Health Action then Mind in case you didn't know.

Out of curiousity, when was it crafted?
The devs limited maximum range to 47m experimented (94m at master) something like 4 or 5 months ago. Before that nerf (fix) I heard a CM claim to be able to throw a poison from 104m away. Never saw it happen, but the claim was made.
Anyway, the average person will very rarely, if every, come in contact with a poison that is thrown from over 90m away.
Crafting was capped at 48m, so max range is double that or 96m
I'd kinda like to apologize for my flames last night, I was tired and angry. I dont mind losing fights, when I do lose I'll sit back, examine the combat spam and see what I did wrong and how I can improve against that particular profession. For example, I got mine handed to me against a fencer multiple times, so then I got a stun chest piece (most people just have stun helms) and also rearranged my template slightly to include novice medic. But when I lost last night to that Rifleman/CM, I couldn't think of anything that I could have possibly done. Had he not used a poison I know I would have beat him even though he was a rifleman.
Master Doctor + Master Combat Medic + Rifles 4= The big "W" ![]()
Last night I was handed my first lossbya Master Doc/Master Heavy Swords. He must have had an uber power hammer because he hit me for 1400 mind damage.
I was with my group and i had hit him with poisons so they finished him off, but still he beat me. He won through superior tactics. He hid inside a building. I only was able to poison him because Tk-089 a storm trooper, was next to the building. Anyways I /salute you, oh master of healing and heavy swords, you won.
Thank you. I just hope that people find this useful.
I live only to serve.

well the rifleman is offset by high dodge professions on the move i.e they cant hit them, then you strafe shoot the rifleman,I have done it as a pistoleer with +90 dodge. I dont see anyway of hittin a CM at 85m barring being a CM of course![]()
Um... tried to run? Most Combat Medics don't have any points allocated in Exploration. Wich gives them no extra burst run efficiency. Now, putting a few points in a scout skill tree can't be asking to much at least...
Combat medics are rooted to the ground for four seconds while they throw their poison. Use that time to close the distance. If they run the other way... you will catch them sooner or later... time your moun right and you will get them eventually.
Besides, the question was, how do someone beat a CM that is stacked up to his teeth with protection. Same as you beat anyone stacked up to his teeth in protection range doesn't really enter into it here.
