Thread: how to fix CM once & for all....
I don't think the problem is with people healing in combat. I think the problem is with people healing *themselves* in combat. If you were to either nerf stim B's somehow, or make it so people incurred a penality for healing themselves (I can't give myself a bandage as well as somebody else giving me a bandage), I think many of the problems with combat medics not being good combat healers would go away.
Even if you include state heals, I don't think I've ever been outshone as a healer in combat (especially with healmind). It's just that people can heal themselves for 400-500 damage with the low cost of 15 SP that everybody does, making battle field healing as a whole (which includes combat medic healing) seem useless.
Seriously reducing or removing the ability for non-CMs to heal in combat seems to me to be similar to implementing a 75% poison damage reduction. It fixes the symptoms of the problem but not the problem itself, and is a very drastic step which will anger a lot of people. Do we really want to force medics to use tumblers and entertainers to get medic experience...

Cool, get the state heals too and we can get rid of an entire class (Doctor) since there will be absolutely no need to take them on missions or pvp. Great Idea. You can also get lots of resource from the fire sales as all the doctors drop or quit the game.
The game is balanced so that doctor is the atithesis of CM. This is pretty stupid.
When doctors have asked for area pison/disease cures I have been the proponant that doctors should have nothing thats AOE because it nerfs CM.
Combat medics are just that Medics that can do combat.
You have combat skills, wound heals from the MEDIC tree with an addition of the AOE stim which is based from medic.
Being a CM you have medic skills and combat skills not curative, buff, or revive. Your healing skill are not far above MEDIC by design and thats the way it should be,
