Actually, you don't even need a partner. BH/CM can kill fine on their own. I have a CM/Rifleman and have yet to take damage in a duel with my guildmates, apart from once (out of about 100 uses) when paralyse failed to take effect. It really does need to break on damage.

hmmm perhaps cm is the way to go as a sideorder to my padawan - unless of couse i get ganked as you probably will

I was dueling some friends on saturday night, and paralize was breaking anytime I damaged them. I was not using any dots on them, and they would stay rooted until I shot them. So maybe it isn't 100% borked. Last night I'd use it on mobs in our hunting group, and as soon as someone would hit the mob it would break. Looks like we need some further testing =)

CM's are not the gods of swg just because they have paralyze. I have lost many duels to swords, and rifles, and of course paddy's and jedi.

However, CM with a little BH teamed up with some other BH's could be a bit brutal

I kept tkm and switched my doc to CM. Its a good pvp template for survival, but not so great for damage.

Paralyze does break often when the target is shot/hit (not 100% of time but almost always)... I was doing plenty of PVE and i used paralyze to keep a mob at bay whenmy partygot a link. The second someone shot or hit it, paralyze would break. I did notice a few times in PVP tho that it didnt break, on test server, but I didnt notice this yet live on Valcyn.


Perhaps it isnt a 100% break when shot? dunno. But it does break and often.

Well I tested a little bit with paralyze today against gurks.. Paralyze would break from time to time. But the best part is to group with a pet/droid/friend let him/her do the damage, and just hit once for the XP sake.


I really can't say how many % of the times id break, but one other thing i did notice is that it did not stick sucessfully every time.


I would vote on leave paralyze as is, but maybe make it harder for it to stick. It is the only thing that makes me able to solo anything.. healing on CM is a joke theese days, so once healing is fixed one can start talking about changing paralyze.


One idea of course is that if one apply shock (reduce state resist), then paralyze it would have an higher chance of sticking.


I have a hard time finding groups (a lot afk due to RL issues), and when in a group the idea is to play with that group. If i get attacked by 2-3 mobs, the only thing that saves my ass is paralyze.

I'm sorry but the non braking paralyze is a life saver v jedi, they get near you, you are dead in 5 hits, would stand 0 chance without it espech v master defenderes.

Is this with Paralyze from Bio Warfare III or Improved Paralyze from MCM?


I have 4/4/0/3 CM and Paralyze seems to breakon damage, maybe the bug is with Improved Paralyze?

I've only noticed the problem with improved paralyze. All CMs will know what it feels like when the next patch hits live and jedi get the stasis power which is like paralyz but lasts 40seconds and currently does not break on damage.

Marksman etc get a root shot that stop's you from moving they can use that every 15 seconds so proffesions like TK dont stand a chance, im currently aiming for combat medic if they do nerf it then they should nerf that stupid root shot.

Stopping Shot from Pistoleer 0/0/0/1 has a 48 second timer on it before you can use it again.

I know it wont break from DOTS. If you do a Poison/KD then Paralyze its over. Just takes time for the ticks to kil them.
