Hehe, if they do get a medical heal ability, I hope it requires them to harvest their own resources, cost 100+ units to make, have the resources come from 3 different planets with 1 being a non-planet specific class type, and basically is equivalent to a Stim A in healing power.
/em cleans the pop off his monitor
And make experimentation for the med kitsuse architect experimentation line LOL
BH's have requested it over and over, and their Correspondent (as per his job responsibilities) put it on his list.
Just like I put :
"medics want /sample and /survey functions to be added to the medic tree."
on my list.
Will either ever happen?
Who knows?
Currently, the Devs have been against crossing skill in this manner.
This view could change at any time.

with the 33 skills point u can go up basically all of medic use and crafting. I especially love it when he said BH's will fade away in there currently broken state. So i suppose being the most uber i 1v1 pvp and basically being able to incapp a pc in one hit is broken. My goodness what would they look like when fix.
Dev fix: added i win button to BH this novice ability allows the BH to win in any situation and be fully healed instantly. WHat a maroon if wants to talk broken proffesions see the carbiner and/or pikeman those are broken all they do is limp around in a circle while BH's kite them spamming /iwin
I do not think we should get it... but lets see... 3 planets - that is 3 marks... no big deal just do it while waiting for the mark to show up :-P

BH's are divided on this issue. I personally don't think thatany medical skills should be given to a BH. But perhaps its not unreasonable for us to request some form of low-level med skills in the same way that the pharm line has /medicalforage for low-level resource gathering (admittedly this is practically useless). As far as stealing injured customers, there are about 6 doctors for every patient in the Coronet medical center. And TKA's can heal their own wounds, cure their own poison and disease, and even self-buff their pools similar to what a doctor can do. My point is that not all classes have cut and dry roles, and thisrequest is not an unreasonable one.
So you want something like medical forage, huh? How about we give you a +5 med use and -99 injury and wound treatment. Don't come crying when all your stims heal for 1 point. It's as useful as medical forage, then :-)
i am a BH, and i think it is ridiculous to give BH inherent medic skills.
period. i refuse to budge on this issue.
BH tree will be fine once Investigation bugs are fixed.

Mantys Predaht'or, Tarquinas
2 4 4 0 BH, Novice Carbineer, 1 1 4 4 Medic...
(brother is Bgrngod Santana, Tarquinas, Master Doctor, 0 0 0 1 Artisan, and working on Carbineer...)
LOL. Some funny comments/replies so far ![]()
Speaking as a doctor:
Perhaps if medical forage worked better then we wouldn't need novice artisan. Besides, how many skill points does it take to run a harvester? Zero last time I checked. All we really need it for is the surveying, and then only once a week. And not even that when some of that stuff can be bought on the bazaar.
Speaking as a BH:
We don't have the luxury ofexcess skill points. We're pretty one-sided, given little to no defensive bonuses in combat. We have one currently useless tree, this medical thing is just an idea to give it some use. We're far from the most powerful class - I believe that mantle belongs to the creature handlers at the moment.
Last comments/responses:
Didn't I already say that I was against adding medical skills to BH? And my only point is that Wepps' request was not unreasonable?
This is also an old, debatedissue - to which this thread has so far added no new insight. It's not even timely for this toappear inthe doctorforum right now.
Is it surprising that doctor's don't want BH's to have their medical skills? Not really.I mean, we were all kinda irritated that rangers could track players and our droids couldn't. But the fact is they do. Aspects of some professions appear as attributes in others.
A ranger hasa limited tracking area of 500m whereas BH droids can track specific NPC's across the entire galaxy - so its hardly the same thing. In fact, I picked up Tracking3 in Ranger to augment, not replace, my droid functionality. The same thing can be done (if you really wanted to) with medical skills such that it would still be of great benefit for a BH to pick up novice medic even with minor medical skills added to the BH Investigation tree.
BHs should just do what the rest of us have to do.. sacrafice some of their combat skills for healing. (or in our case, scout for harvesting and artisan for surveying). ![]()
Osmspiff0, what you may not realize is that these resources will also only spawn once a year with something more than OQ12 and shift every 5 days. ![]()
Let em have novice medic in investigation. Just raise medicine use of stim b's back up to 15 (or was it 20) like they used to be. No problemo. They can use those highly experimented stim a's and heal themself for 100 ![]()
