Thread: Dev response to the top 5

I just need to know if I should use up this 700k of resources and get some great product out of it, or if I need to start harvesting all over again and sell off my current stock.
I have to bring up the same questions Crimus did. For those of us that labored over for high OQ, high PE fungi and other resources that have PE rating, are we now clean it all out for DR?

Tsu,
To a doc that has completed the ranged support prereq, yes you're correct.
To the many that haven't and won't, it think it's a great deterrent.

Oh wow, I know Im going to purchase another factory to pump out all my sub components before this patch hits. I mean, I have easily 1 million plus resources for CM all going on the fact that I wanted high PE/OQ. Oh well, the other changes are great to hear, I just wish they didnt change everything, and just the components that dont have resources that use PE. Cant win them all I guess.

The issues ( in white ) and dev replies ( in green ) have been paraphrased
1) CM component experimentation should not be baed on conductivity / potential energy when theresources used do not have these properties.
Components will now use Overall Quality and Decay Resistance.
I don't see how our offensive ability is any good. So far my master poisons and diseases have been worthless in PvE and PvP.
Perhaps someone needs to clue me in on something?

I don't see how that's relevant, Jacore. If you get the component schematic once you reach Novice CM, then you have the ability to craft it. Why would they need to complete the range support prereq? Unless I'm not reading something here.

Did you just say your master poisons are worthless in PvP? You must be doing something terribly wrong, try a different profession.
And next time if you trying to say What The **edit**, say 'What the **edit**' don't sugar coat it with 'Whiskey Tango Foxtrot'
Tsu
He means Ranged Weapon Support Abilities form the marksman line. You know the 4th column of the Marksman line. The 29 extra points we have to spend so we can be combat medics and not just doctors.

Nice. The only problem i had with this is I've been looking around. Most of the resources with a high OQ have a crappy DR. Hopefully this will change when this gets implemented. Or at the very least adjusted.
2) Targets killed with a poison only attack give no xp, faction, and make the corpse unlootable.
A new calculation will be used to figure a contribution factor of the CM when a successful /applypoison lands on a target.
It's about time. I'll be glad to finally be getting more than the 2-5 FPs i'm getting just for shooting the base. And it'll also be nice to loot a corpse i poisoned to death. I can now actually use my poisons in combat without worrying that it will be the deathblow.
3) CM's don't get to carry over experimentation points into the CM crafting line and can not use CM experimentation on components used only for poisons and diseases.
Combat medic components will be moved to the CM tree.
WOOT! Nice. I was hoping the other way would have been nice. Would be kool to have 10 points for heals as well but this is great. Now if we can just get them to use our components in the DOCTOR's buffs or cure posions and cure disease. That way we can have something to trade for the good scematics for the components for out heals.
4) Resources needed for the CM advanced components are too rare and costly to obtain.
Advanced components should be hard to get and not everyone should be willing to search for the resources needed to craft the advanced components. No changes will be made at this time to a resource type and quantity required for the components.
I did notice in this question AND response that there is no mention to WHY Doctors don't have the same rarity and cost to obtain resources for similar remedies? I mean ok fine, I can see they want it to be limited but then while we are waiting and waiting for stuff to make diseases and poisons why do the Doctors get to stock pile cures? It will get to a point that it won't be worth it. Give it about 2 months and you will see what I mean.
5) Combat medics would like some other type of support ability added to the profession.
Combat medics have decent offensive ability but could use a little more help on the "nice" side. Ideally it should be some type of quick benefit that only lasts a minute or two durning combat. CM's will be getting an additional ability or two in the future along this mentality
Hmm ok so a bio-pistol is out and a 1-2 minute buff is in. I'm scared that this will step on the toes of the Squad Leader but without knowing what it is I will not say anything for sure.
Additional changes being made
Combat Medicine Effectiveness bumped from 90 to 100
Hoody Hoo. Better stims and pack boys and girls.
Decay Resistance on reactive gases adjusted to a more reasonable range
Well this is only 1 of a few resources that I have seen with a good OQ and a low DR.
My last question is did he give an ETA? Will these be in a patch.....Stealth patch.....or do we have to wait 1-2 months for the next big screw up err I mean patch?
Seeing that the last 2 BIG patches were both nightmares and the test center was working just fine with little patches allpied here and there; I think they should move those little patches to the LIVE servers instead of compiling it into a big patch.
c0braa, you're definitely doing something wrong. Your posions should be hitting for about 400-550 damage every 8 seconds if you're using the single poison, probably about 100 points of damage less if you're using an area. Just last night I beat a BH (only halfway up skill tree) 4 out of 4 times in a duel. I do have some pistol skills, which only helped in making him kneel so I could run farther away after poisoning him, and two out of the 4 times he incapped me, but hit the ground from poison before he could come DB me, I got up faster and voila. In group PvP we're killer too. Just make you take the time to get the best resources, try to make advanced components only, and you'll be laughing.I'm also hoping you're only using C's. As far as PVE goes, we are a support profession, so you do need a group or a pet tank if you don't have any one to go hunting with. With a good tank and strategy, there's almost nothing you can't take out on your own.
Ghostface, it does seem that ALL COMPONENTS will be changed to OQ and DR, but the finished product will not, so that fungi you harvested with great OQ and PE should still be usefull, but the Lokian Wheat will not.
Kavedawg or Dev, can you please confirm my comments above to Ghostface and get a response to Tsu's and mine inquiry. I realize after the patch my awesome PE resources will be useless, but if I make the components with these resources before the patch, will the components maintain the same stats/qualities they have after the patch happens???
Does that mean ALL components will be changed to OQ and DR?

no one else is happy about this? I'm tickled pink. why? More effective poisons/diseases.
I'm happy about everything else too heh
dont get me wrong.
