Anyways, he is asking about NOT using any other combat skills, not about how your doing it with pistol 4, and a pet........

So I guess no class in the game period is soloing as I have seen countless Commandos, BHs, Elite Weapon Users,Smugglers etc all use all manner of pets to tank mobs that would otherwise rip them a new a$$ while they were trying to do a number of specials on said mob. I guess Imps with ATSTs aren't considered soloing either for that matter and let's not forget the Creature Handlers who will, according to your views, never solo in this game. Would you care to share with us your Webster's definition of Soloing in SWG?

Show me how you can efficiently take down rancors with nothing but poisons....

It's already been described. Just because you can't afford or wanta pet don't downplay others using one. Fight smarter not harder I say.

It can be done, but it would be time consuming and a lot of running away.....

The point is it is being done, one way or another mobs are dying to CMs with a kitty or a cockroach. Is it because of damage done by our pet? Nope it's damage done from the poison I have lovingly crafted with care. I know my AE poison can do 5k health damage in a 2 min timespan. I also know that my single target poison can do 6600 health damage in that 2 min timeframe. If I can also toss a bleed on these mobs, keep my pet alive and stay un-agroedI'd say I'm pretty effective in PVE.

I have no problems doing the following.

A) Send in pet to a mess of mobs

B) Toss AE poison

C) Pistol Area1 2-3 times

D) Heal pet

E) Loot away

There is no doubt that a Doc/CM is a great healer and can do some amazing things! But how are you going to pay for all thoese resources you need??

I am a CM/Pistoleer

Sure you can solo them but the pay out will be too small! Poisons seem to resist more on weaker creatures??? and they still are verry slow to tick down! (boring) You will still need to shoot, bash, slash at some point!

I like both groups and solo

Iuse the Pistol skills to solo and in groups I use a lot more CM skills. Today I got a solo mission outside cornet for $4200.I do thoes just going to my house to check the harvesters. No Poisons needed! So I think you need some Combat profession if you want to hunt lairs solo. If you enjoy groups the comandos and BH always need a good doc/Medic/CM!

CM skills are fast to get in groups espicaly with brawlers, So Solo its verry slow going... my stats for CM never move unless I poison a mob in solo. Which 1/2 the time they seem to resist.

So for solo a hard mob - send in the pet, Area poison, Blead 1 + 2.I start firing my strongest pistol shot. I Heal the stupid pet. I keep shooting, I Heal the pet. Shooting... crap, pet incaped,Heal pet, shoot some more. I notice I was targeting my petever since I healed it and was not shooting the mob... Crappet incaped,Heal pet - TABtarget some one... Crap I targeted another mob! Now another Mob is on me! F the pet... Equip Armor... Area Poison, crap, it only poisoned one creature of the mob! Spam my strongest shot.Start Praying to "Lucas" that they will not Kill me after I incap! To mysurpriseeverything thing falls from me hitting everyhthing with bleed shot as I lay ther incaped- 20 Seconds later - .... Unequip armor - store the F ing pet - sit so mind heals... Change the shorts because I have no idea how I pulled out of that one!

Sorry about that it's late and my mind wonders!

I used to be able to solo tortur bulls with poison and warning shot. No pet involved (although I do have one). I haven't tried since they changed them to be social and bring their family to chew on you.

It was a long and tedious fight though. 500 damage every 8 seconds is pretty darned laughable compared to any "dedicated" combat class. My TKA friend (who isn't master yet) can defeat a bull well before my poison has ticked for the 2nd time (also without a pet).

I've had some success the EQ way - a Druid. Combine your CM poisons & diseases (they appear to stack) with a scouts traps and pistol bleeds.

/snare; /bleed; /bleed2; /root; /peace; /poison; /repeat.

Haven't tried it much yet, but the half dozen times I tried it (on Mountain Squills) worked well. Of course, on Squills, if you mess it up you mess it up well.

From my expirience, unsoloable are krayt ancient, peko peko albatross, postpatch giant dune kimo. Havent found any DJMs yet, so cant say. Giant krayts soloable, but very very annoying. One hit in armor hole - you dead. Maybe theoreticaly soloable, but too annoying all things like peko peko albatrosses, with nasty knokdown/strong dizzy attacks. Poisonous/diseaseful creatures are soloable if you prepare adequately and have lot of time. Creatures with protection from poisons are unsoloable as you see, i know of some high-levelarachnids.

PS. No pets, no at-st, sliced poweruped CDEF for lairs

Here is what I do. I use a mountain krevol which is alittle better than a rock beetle. I will sendhim in, then depending on if they are pack animals or not I will either toss a area health poison or a single health poison. Then I use my macro /bleedshot2; /bleedshot1; and after I got them all (if they are tougher mobs) then I proceed by using my fan shot so I can hit multiple targets....and since they are all surrounding my poor krevol.....well you get the rest.

I can solo a dif 35 faction mission without a problem. 50% comp armor, PSG doc buffs 268dmg fwfg5 pistol. AOE/single health and lots of circle kiting. I can do it without armor too, depending on the # of mind hits i take.

or I could pull out the at sts, but they take away most of the faction points i get.

I can buff and put on my armor then area poison the level 8 or so missions i get on tatooine (womp rats and stuff) . Then spend a few minutes killing the lair with your cdef. Its a lot of time for not a lot of money but it can be done. Personally Im sticking with md/pistoleer trickshot and expert CM.

Trillium,

Max mission difficulty I can pull on a non-adventure planet is 10. Those are a cakewalk given i have a cowardley gurreck with me to tank.

I've found that by grouping with my rock beetle (fully grown, if its not fully grown it doesn't help here) and my probot will have the mission terminals rate us as a group and offer more difficult missions. Still not getting anything huge, but far better than 10 difficulty. If you have faction pets bring them in too, that will really shoot up your groups rating.

As a Doc/CM with a decent pet you can go a long long way in a fight. Send the buffed pet in do a bleed shot toss a poison. Fire a few shots every now and again and throw a ranged stim the pet to keep him going (even without advanced components these can heal for 1500 HAM). Its a slow battle, very slow, but if you are patient you can take out a good many things with ease.

DJA,DJK, DJM - piece a cake

I was very very disappointed - no real challenge at all. Only thing you care is to find clear warpless area torun away. Krayts at least run faster than your burst, and they always aggro on sight, so they are challenging. Peko Peko albatross also soloable, but **edit** hard to avoid knockdown. Get your feathers and forget about this nightmare.

As always nopok-e-mons, true solo
