Thread: Mind heals useless. i think not.

Personaly I would like to see mind heals range at least on par with our healing stims. Were trained in ranged support and yet our most valuable tool is point blank.

With server lag and master brawler the distance is 25m+. Server lag is also the reason they increased the baseattack range from 5m to 10m for melee.

Well we know 1 thing Devs plan to do is alter the ability to target mind as a nearly unhealable pool. Mind needs to be made healable like health and action if its going to continue to be something combat professions can specifically target. I have used the CM mind heal ability many times, most times to get people up from an incap, but its not a viable solution to the greater underlying problem of targetable mind without sufficient healing ability.

Good point, so when the ham revamp hits and if they make mind healable, what then for us? If our mind heal becomes obsolete, we should get some sort of special heal to keep us unique from doctors. Not like were asking for much here, just throw us a bone, because when the smuggler revamp hits and yet another poison resist comes out, we will really need something else to make us a viable part of a combat unit.

i have thought about that. it is sort of a question of making things easier. which sounds good at first blush. but there needs to be some stickiness to the wicket for it to be any fun! easy = boring in a pretty short amount of time.


if it is just another pool, it is more bland. so while the mind pool attacks are the death of many, and a source of frustration, they also force a sort of strategic thinking. it might be just as good without those constraints, or it might be more boring.


either way, mind heal needs more range so it can be used in a high-lag environment, i.e. zerg pvp as it now exists. even a few more meters would at least allow you to heal the guy you are following.

The combat revamp is hopefuly going to change everything, a complete remake of the core system. Mind should be just as healable as health or action but there must be a down side.

IMO I think bf should be the deciding factor of pvp. The higher your bf the slower your movement speed, the longer it takes to fire or swing your weapon, and the less accurate you'll be.

If mind heal is made redaly available it should be a cm ability as we already can heal mind.

define combat medic, a medic w/ combat ability, therefore, a medic who is willing to take damage for other people in the group. hell, when i pvp'd with the group, i did not care how many times i died, all i cared about was the team staying up before me. My duty is to be the combat medic that I am, help assist in attacking, and when needed, help HEAL other people, that includes mind heal as well. If you do not want to heal them in any way, i suggest you just give up your CM skills and go for something else more active w/ attacks. As for doctors, yeah it is safe for them to be in battlefield, but I believe combat medic is the one who should own MindHeal, due to the fact that Docs use mind many times for every other heal that hardly any CM's can perform. =)

I am a 4404 CM and a fencer. I am going to become a 0404 and Master Fencer. I use mind heal more then diseasesand poisons combined. (Dont get me wrong,I like to poisons stuff, but I enjoy people saying "Wow, who healed my mind?" more.)

A combat medic is a MEDIC who goes into COMBAT situations to deal with COMBAT healing.
