Don't go worrying too much about the resist buffs, they have had in reality relatively little impact. In most cases it just takes the CM a little longer to kill you, but then again maybe it works just like it always did. It's way too random to be considered all that usefull. CM dabblers can do just fine, resist buffs really haven't changed that much. It really doesn't matter if I gotta throw 10 poisons at you to land 1, as long as I land 1 See the problem is that unless they are a ranged then I only get roughly 1 poison off if I want to stay alive. 4 seconds is almost enough for a melee to reach me with their lunge. I can take thakitillo for the KD but I got nothing for posture down. Haven't even tested thak against a lunge2 which is a double posture down/KD and may not even be affected. My stun helmet is only a 65% base/36% stunsince its encumbranced sliced (I'm a zabrak not a over-privileged human with a huge base mind/focus/willpower). Meanwhile everyone who has any sort of MIND pool attack is blasting away while I wait the next 4 seconds to toss another poison. Its not fun being rooted while a swordman is smacking you with a powerhammer.

Invariably though I've seen plenty of CM's give up on poison after a single resisted effect, or a single doc cure.... suckers.... See above. Maybe if you brought friends and get lost in the crowd otherwise you are too reliant on poison.

Poison/disease deathis alive and well people. I'd only say that it seems to me the majority of the CM population are either lame or dumb and don't really press it beyond a single application. Personally, I've chucked poisons at doctors repeatedly until they screwed up on the heal and died for it. Most CM's won't go that far. Yeah, too many people still PvP without stun helmets, psg's, or poison/disease buffs. However, I've seen too many doctors whomissed up to3 ticks but were still headsmacking me back with thier combat professions. If you manage to get it past a doctor once then good luck making it past their resist buff after that. There are plenty of noob PvP'ers out there who are easy kills. Heck I still see defense stackers too cocky to wear armor get owned by my dxr-6b. Then there are the ones who come overt and prepared....those are the tough cookies and poison isn't going to win the day with them.

I'm running into more and more "professional" PvP'ers who resist my poisons now. 115 potency on my high damage poison isn't cutting it so now I gotta take a wild guess as to whether I should use a high potency or high effectiveness poison when I open up.

Then again I'm still matching the damage with my dxr-6b. God I love that rifle!

There really is no such thing as the "Best CM PVP Template". It does not exist.

4004CM/Novice Doctor/Master Swordsman = Not such a bad combo, but I think dumping the remaining points into fs skills is a bad idea. Master swordsmen I don't think are terribly feared in pvp either. Swordsman accuracy is their downfall. Against non-defense stackers a headhit and a damage sliced powerhammer make short work of players. With the new FS stuff all of the speed and accuracy they need might be there. Then again, unless you have really high accuracy most professions cant tough a defense stacker.

That is the template I have the most problems with. As a MCM/Rifleman I can't cure any poisons I recieve. There are times when I seriously considered going with this template. You still get some so so DoT's, can cure any DoT thrown on you, and you still have master rifleman for some heavy PvP or PvE dps.

I really liked that combo too, right until I got beat down by one too many jedi's, then I switched rifles for TKM.

Im not gonna bother reading all the other posts, but cm 4204 master fencer and enhanced reflexes 4400(+12 ranged and melee defense)

I dunno if its becuz i have the best stuff but that seriously never gets beat.

if u wanted get rid of the 2 and go nov doc, whtever floats ur boat.

And, also the stats of all your equipment really matters alot. My main stuff is for pois 350 effect 120 pot wiht 60ish uses in each for singles, disease atleast 200 with pot around 120.

Now for my pvp stuff i got all enhanced stuff, mind pois with around 500 effect, and 150 pot, and a mind disease that tricks for over a thousand. Anyways just is just wht i have, and also a 330 max baton, but lets not go there ..

They've already stated that melee will soon lose its advantage over Jedi. You're on borrowed time now and rightly so. Now if they could only attach a 2.5x "to hit" modifier on melee vs ranged attacks and put melee where it belongs.

I just dropped M. Rifles/4004 CM/4030 Doctor for M. Rifles/MCM. Of course I can't cure dots, but PvP is never 1 on 1 and there is always a doctor who will heal you. Just sit back and try to hide, don't rush up and tank the opponent. Thats why I believe any Melee Prof + CM will fail. You have to be within 20m of your opponent to even land your longest attack, removes the whole point of throwing a ranged poison. You'll get your ass beat up by some Pikeman who has 6 DoT pikes and a speed-capped swordsmen who will hit you so hard your mind will drop before you can get off your second poison.

If you take up CM/Rifles plan on staying behind and stacking poisons. Its pretty effective against newer PvPers. They think the dot is weakening since it ticks (I ALWAYS do strongest to weakest) from 600, to 400, to 300. If someone has pioson resist buffs, give it one or two more tries depending on your time and situation. Most PvP now is big squads so play a support role. Area poisons are great since you can find out who doesn't have poison resist buffs and go after them, just pay close attention to the system messages about who you apply poison to. The poison resist buffs only last for 40m-1hr, its biggest downfall. I know a lot of PvPers who in the middle of a battle their buffs run out and have to wait until they die or leave until they can get rebuffed. Some PvPers even forget their buffs ran out since there really is no message to warn you, happens with some people and food.

EH?

I'm currently a Master Doc/Master Swordsman....my biggest problem in pvp is accuracy and speed. I think with the right attachments a swordsman could rule PvP, but unless you have an endless wallet, don't count on it.

I'm comtemplating going 4440 Doc/4404 CM/ and 4004 Rifles....Seems like a kamakazi type template, but against jebi, I don't last very long anyway.
