Gotta agree to all the comments here. I do like some of the animations but yeah they aren't necessary. I have an amd64 3500 with a nvidia fx3400 256 with my settings at the lowest... i crawl to a halt.
was kinda fun mounting and unmounting yesterday for a bit in bestine interestingly enough I didn't crash.
The fire does look pretty cool though... & I don't mind the bleeding one. (it's kinda funny actually.) but agree the aren't necessary and performance for a lot of people is horrible.
I too support the removal of superflous animations.

Yeah, I have to agree that is a bit harsh on my video card too. What makes it worse for me is that Bacta Spray is one of several effects that get "stuck" on me. Those "stuck" animations then go off on me whenever I get on or off a vehicle. Talk about video over load. Having Bacta Spray, Disarming Shot, Fan Shot, Intimidating Shot, and two or three others I don't remember all activating at the same time makes my video card whimper. It's gotten to the point that I get off my speeders well outside of town so I don't blind or crash anyone.
This engulfed me, too. The massive bright mana cloud on every enter/leave of vehicle. Huge lag!
Please fix this, devs, and the purple slinkies too. They're creepy!

I've brought up item conversion, but I haven't said anything about the "deer in headlight" areaheal effect yet.
... but wait, I'm not the corr... *wanders back out*

lol, while they are at it. Get rid of all the flashy graphical animations. I cant stand fighting something now, it looks like you are killing a christmas tree with all the lights and animations flying around it.
LOL
Yeah overall the animations are nutty. If there are options to turn them all off that'd be great.

Have neither seen hide nor hair of our correspondant on TC nor these forums in the past 2 weeks it seems. Is he still alive? I'd like to get my test results stickied or at least complied onto some other tests and stickied.

Wow he must just be busy.
Personally I like the effects when you can tell what they are, and they're small scale. The ones where they give you information about your states since figuring out the icons is a pain in the retina. But the bacta spray animation has to be changed, big time. In fact since I bet most of the people that will see it in action have never sampled, they could slow down one of those animations and use it.
