As most of you already have seen testing this out, when using bacta spray you and your entire group is enveloped in a large billowy white cloud of very bright light. Yes I understand you want to put in new snazzy effects but this is a tad bit much.
Besides myself, several others I interview dreaded the "mana cloud" as one put it. The particle effect slowed even some of the better video cards out there. Some using older vid cards had their gerbils go into grand mal seizures when the effect popped up. When asked if they had turned down the settings they replied they were already all the way down.
If at all possible could you dev's please switch this to something a bit less RAM intensive and solid in nature. While it is a kewl effect it is very hindering in combat. At one point in a fight a group member's computer froze when 3 area heals went off at the same time. These heals will be frequent on the battlefield and I can't even imagine what it would be like in a closed area like the DWB or just the interiors of opposing faction's bases. Even taking a tweaked form of the water sample animation would be a major help to many.
Thanks for reading this

lol, while they are at it. Get rid of all the flashy graphical animations. I cant stand fighting something now, it looks like you are killing a christmas tree with all the lights and animations flying around it.

I was much happier seeing an icon next to the creature name with what state effect was on it.

It does seem a bit heavy on the vid card that effect, I've had people crash out of their client completely due to my /bactaSpray.

If you dont mind me asking, what level are you in healing? and how much does it heal you and your group? With and without enhancements?

I usually dont use this anymore because of the animation. Aside from that, the NPCs usually aggro on one guy throughout each fight, so i dont find it useful in situations where the groups only fighting one thing at a time. Bacta shot and toss seem to be more effective to me in those situations, so it isnt worth the lag.

I think this adds a whole new element to the game.
New strategy for group PvP:
- Send one lone man to the other side of the field
- Have him engage the entire enemy legion
- Toss a bacta spray on him
- Instruct your group members to look away
- Poofhalf the opposing team lags out.
Proceed to cheer for the genius display of skill and ravage their LD corpses

Yeah, I have to agree that is a bit harsh on my video card too. What makes it worse for me is that Bacta Spray is one of several effects that get "stuck" on me. Those "stuck" animations then go off on me whenever I get on or off a vehicle. Talk about video over load. Having Bacta Spray, Disarming Shot, Fan Shot, Intimidating Shot, and two or three others I don't remember all activating at the same time makes my video card whimper. It's gotten to the point that I get off my speeders well outside of town so I don't blind or crash anyone.

In general they went way overboard with all the effects. I could live without 80% of the effects and be happier for it.

I have to say that I really dont mind most of the animations I have seen so far. Perhaps because I was comparing then to the mushroom cloud.
That being said, I was discussing the potential for issues during large scale battles with some fellow testers on TCEP3 (or whatever they call it today) and 3 or 4 of us lit up the "mana cloud".
Server crashed.
Coincedence?I think not.
