OK, One more then i'm done. This one is for vortexala and it is just a question.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

Ask the Devs WHAT IS THE ROLE OF A COMBAT MEDIC?????

We have NEVER EVER gotten an answer to that question.

I have always though of a Doctor being like one you would find in a Hospital (Buffs, Superior Wound healing, Superior Cures, State removers, etc)

I have always thought of a Combat Medic as a Paramedic (A field Doctor) (Not as good but can take care of all field alments to get that person up enough to get them to the hospital)

BUT we DON'T get Rez, and now we don't get fire blankets. I have seen many many people leave the profession because what does it really offer anyone? area heals? A good Doctor will have those people healed before the stim lands. Poisons? With the Doctor Buffs, Spice, and NOW Chef food, Poisons are next to useless (especially because they don't incap). Diseases? You know I don't know ONE CM that wastes their resources on these griefing packs. (well except griefers) Mind Heals? Yay I get to be the Doctors Patsy. He heals everyone else (because he's better at it then I am) and I get to heal his mind. OH, and after about10 heals of his mind I have to leave the battlefield and spend the next 1/2 hour in the cantina getting healed myself.

AND I SPENT 29 EXTRA POINTS FOR THIS??????

Everytime I think about it it gets harder and harder for me to stay in this profession. I am getting tired of being thrown a bone and going to chase it only to find out once I get out to where it SHOULD have landed that the Devs are still holding it.

So I just want to know WHAT IS OUR ROLE SUPPOSE TO BE???

The devs have been asked this many, many, many times. No answer is forthcoming, I'm afraid.

Actually, I would suggest that it's nt so much that the Devs won;t answer, as that they are asking us for the answer as shown by the CM thread in the In Concept forum. I think they are primarily looking to how WE define what we are doing and what we would like to be doing. I strongly suggest that all CMs put their 2 cents in on that thread to make thier views of what CMs SHOULD be known to the Devs.

(Big friggin' hint there, guys, for those who can't figure out things that I can't officially post about.)

BTW this titel of this thread is a bit off. THe On Fire Cure was on the Doc issues list before it was on the CM list, but that's really irrelavent. It's pretty much been brought up by all of the medical profession. As long as we get something at least we can work from there to move on. Texxie has already been doing that to push for CMs on this front as well.

Zarlor is pretty much correct. Devs want your opinion and I'd suggest you post on the in concept thread...I am still drafting my reponse now that i can speak my own mind

I even went as far as strting more than one thread asking for the Devs to speak on the role of CMs. In one of the threads, and in the list of 10 questions I submitted to TH, I stated that the CM community has discussed this ad nauseum and has not come to an agreement. Because if this i suggested that the Devs chime in their 2 credits as the tiebreaker.

Yeah. It's a doctor skill. It's called a secondary stat enhancement. Actually makes you regenerate health/action faster.

A Combat Medic under my military understanding, is a soldier trained to provide tactical and immediate medical attention. That is, to keep a soldier that has suffered wounds alive long enough to reach the rear area hospitals. Keep them stable andstop the patient going intoshock. They are not to treat long term illness or wounds. Most armies would also regardboosting troop moral as theprimary function of a Comabt Medic. A soldier may be more willing to perform his dangerous duties knowing that medical care is close at hand. In fact, the UShas beenvery big on that idea since World War II.

Now in the world of SWG with HAM bars and incap, I think we stack up well in our 'historical' role. We provide everything a real combat medic does, including moral boosting, with the added advantage of being Bio-Warfare specialists. While I think the immediate nature of the fire blanket and it's use would be more fitting in the hands of a combat medic, I must admit that I have no real problem with it being a Doctors tool. Really, with the Nerf of flame throwers, is it really a big deal to provide a soldier with stim-heals until a doctor can get on the scene? Taken abstractly (as you should in a computer game) I think this is pretty realistic.
