Thread: Is this CM bug / exploit allready known?

While fighting in PvP, in HQ there is a CM exploit. A covert reb. will run into the base, duel his mate CM, CM use area disease and poison: voila all ppl in the HQ catch poison and disease!

Is this already known? Since the one side gains a great advantage and the other a great disadvantage, in my understanding, this is an exploit.

this would fall in line with the poisons AoE ignoring structures problem and has been talked about numerous times.

its an exploit and needs to be fixed

full on exploit. It wouldn't be so bad if the poison/disease combo didnt incap/kill, but it still sucks either way. Cheaters.

The poison/disease is a gas and would get into the ventalation system of the structure and affect everyone inside. The only exploit is the CM himself doesn't get the poison too

It is known, the only way to fix this particular bug/exploit would be to make it so that, when dueling, you can only poison those whom you are dueling. That would fix that end of the bug.

No, this is a full exploit as far as I am concerned.


We all understand that the current mechanics allow me to poison someone outside of the base (or at the entrance) to affect people inside the base. And if an enemy is dumb enough to be in my LOS, then they get what they deserve, including poisoning other people inside the base.


But what this is about is creating an artificial enemy target where a valid regular enemy target does not exist. Let's say I don't have LOS to any enemy opponent. So what? I just get my neutral or covert friend, who can't be touched by any of my opponents, to duel me. The area affect from my duelaffects my regular PvP opponents. Ideally, there should be some way to separate a duel opponent from everything else. Realistic? No. But it would be better for the game. And this isn't restricted to just LOS issues. I could effectively do the same thing to artificially increase my range.

As far as I'm concerned it is an exploit. Report it as such.

but then how would you kill jedi afk macroing on rooftops

EXPLOIT! They need to make area poison/diseae stop at walls and floors. Forget that venteliation crap, the Arch's didn't put them in, so we can't use them.

You cant make AoE susceptable to objects... mainly because of the way the game is made - the compuatation of working out whose affected and who isnt would be too much to do on top of everything else. It would be a nightmare to program, thats the only reason poisins reach inside buildings.

I was notorious for using this on base raids or flushing melee enemies out of hiding in buildings. I don't use this anymore since it is truly an exploit. It's much more fair to incap someone at the mouth of a base or use a corpse for a target. Even agroing a low HP mob next to the wall of a base and using it for a target is fair imho. They give the CM a valid target if the enemy doesn't have the forethought to drag their friends out of the CMs LOS. I take care to make sure my friends clear out any possible fauna near the base we defend so they can't be used in this manner. I have a set of "frogger" poisons I use just for those circumstances since they have a base 40 Area.
