Thread: Forum Policy Reminders. These are rules you agreed to follow when you subscribed.
From the Sony Online Entertainment Policies
Let's cut to the chase. Those of you who are are flaming and ranting in here, calling tailors names, and going so far as to suggest in-game harassment are violating these policies that you agreed to follow when you signed your contract with Sony.
Now being unhappy is fine. Saying so is fine. But the mods on this forum will not tolerate breaking the rules. It's not me, it's not the tailors, it's Sony.
To the nice, constructive posters on this forum: If you find a post that breaks the rules, go ahead and report it. To report it you click the pulldown menu on the right and hit "report abuse to a moderator." Please be sure to identify the offense (i.e. flaming) so it will be easier for the mod. Don't think that I'm the only one who can report posts - all reports are investigated. The system works. Feel free to use it.

My take on this, rather than participating in flame wars, just start reporting the offending threads (we all know which ones these are, and how to recognize them). This applies equally to the (inflammatory) threads thatsay "combat medics are so overpowered, because of A, B, and C nerf them!" as well the threads which say "everybody who complains about combat medics being too strong is dumb because of A, B, and C". Of course if a new idea comes up which hasn't been discussed before, by all means participate. But when the same "line of sight" or "65+ meters" argument comes up, just report it.
Everybody keeps thinking moderators we should lock moreflame threads. Why don't we start trying to force that to happen?

Don't tell me the Quake PvP crowd is invading that forum complaing about uber needle and thread attacks and the obvious uberness of hot pants causing them to lose concentration when attemping an unarmed lunge...
nah, we got hit by a crowd that's whining about the devs *fixing* clothing decay to actually work, which will cause their skilltapes to be useless. go figure

Can we unnerf dancers so they are anatomically correct?

To begin with, I am not an image designer.
There is a term for theposts of type"why do you charge so much, you don't need anything to image design":trolling. Report the threads, do *not* feed the trolls, and move on. It works on the combat medic forum (and believe me we have a lot of practice with this there, although it's hard to not feed the trolls), and itwill work on the image designer forum. (Keep in mind that not all posts which question the status quo are trolling, but it's "obvious" who is just ranting and has nothing to contribute to the discussion. Don't get trigger happy, but don't be gun shy either.
)
With any luck, after a few weeks when people get used to paying for something they used to get for free (sometimes by stiffing image designers), the dearth of nerf threads will calm down. Until then, remember that the views of those who post on your forums do not reflect all non-image designers, and have funwith your new toys (I know I will find an image designer and have fun with them). ![]()
I can certainly understand where you're coming from--trolls and their nerf threads are annoying to all professions that get them. To be fair, however, complaining about prices and asking why people charge what they do is simply discussion, not trolling.
In addition, if SOE were indeed to delete all flames and troll posts, there would be about 10% of the forums left.
Actually I don't find that disturbing, considering that the forums should provide a place where people can engage in discussion (sometimes rather heated and defensive) about all things SWG. It is a fact of life.
It does puzzle me that people wouldflame Image Designers who charge for their services, though, or stiff them--I mean, the idea of a profession is to get paid for doing it, right? ![]()
All that said, the changes should be a good thing, and I look forward to trying them!
n'Jessi's a post thief?!
Or maybe it's the beginning of "Kwee's school of Corresponding"
