In case you haven't heard..

there is a necklace called 'Ice Necklace'.. it's properties are CM experimentation +5

you can acquire one of these necklaces by doing the FS quests in the village..

sorry i don't remember NPC names.. Shivvara or something

anyway.. once you've entered the village.. speak with the village elder.. he'll point you to the right person for the quest..

the questgiver is the one to 'treat the wounded'.. you're given a schematic which lasts until you complete the quests..

you then make experimental medicines which cure different properties of each patient.. fever, vomiting, open sores, pus filled lesions.. etc etc

you can find out what is afflicint the patients by speaking to the 2-1B medical droids parked there.. they'll list off the symptoms..

craft your meds.. drag and drop onto the droid.. until all symptoms are removed.. repeat 4 more times..

return to the lady who gives the quest and you'll unlock a FS tree..

speak to her again to help another 5 patients.. you'll get the necklace..

for completeness sake.. after the necklace the last quest reward is a plant you can take home and tend to..

notes:
bring about 5k of each of the following:
HIGH OQ/UT metal (900+)
Med OQ/UT metal (500ish)
low OQ/UT metal (100ish)
bring about 2.5k of each of the following:
HIGH OQ/PE flora (900+)
Med OQ/PE flora (500ish)
low OQ/PE flora (100ish)
Droid with food/chem crafting station capability
1-2 Food/Chem crafting tools
any MEDICINE Experimentation/Assembly gear you have (NO... CM Experimentation and CM Assembly do not help here)

Optimally i've found it best if you work with others on the quest making the cures.. we had a static group size of 5-6 people each came equipped to do varying cures.. so lots of trading back and forth..

I was able to make most of the mid-range and low level cures with what i had brought.. meanwhile the docs with their 'perfect resources' couldn't cure a simple fever..

Doctor levels of experimentation are necessary for the high end cures.. with high end resources and my 6 experimentation i was not able to craft 3 of the cures

you CAN make factory schematics of the cures.. they take 40secs each.. they do NOT 'crate' your factory will have 25 individual units not 1 crate of 25 in the output hopper on a run of 25..

after completing the quest the 3rd time (15th patient cured) the schematic for the experimental medicine is REVOKED.. so when you're down to your last cure on your last patient.. hold off and make sure everyone has everything they need.. and you have your last cure ready to administer

sorry if this doesn't make much sense.. it's late.. i've been there for 8? hours doing my quest and helping others.. and making quick trips to coronet to get more 'bad' resources for the simple cures

PS.. this unlocked Enhanced Senses: Persuasion skill tree.. in case you cared

http://swgcb.yogn.net (character builder site that has the force sensitive trees listed so you can see what you're getting into.. click 'show jedi' or 'only jedi')

have fun.. GL all

Do you have to be a jedi, or have unlocked it in order to do this quest, or can my "you have a faint sense of the force" combat medic be able to do this quest? Thanks for any info!

No need to be a jedi, but you must glow with the force.

Doing that is no biggie though. Check the Jedi forum for details.

Short version, see to it that you have a few masters (don't remember exact number but I'm 4 masters down the line and glowing), take a trip of POI's doing Yavin, Dath and Dant would probably see you through that requierment. Do five themeparks (Jabba, Nym, Both Warrens and the factional themepark of your choice is preferable if you don't want to run the Vette)

(the Warren is extremely dull right now, but easy for anyone, just tag along with a group, wait for someone to loot all 4 security keys and activate the lift down to the main complex. Run around, meeting tops one enemy, download the four evidence disks, ignore looting the disk that tells you who to give them to, check the net for the name of that particular NPC (I don't want to spoil anyones legitimate warren run) and you're home free. Yeah... you need to loot the letter (or run around the warren shouting that you'll buy a letter) to get the compassion badge)

When you're done, do you /checkforcestatus and you should be glowing. Otherwise consult the jedi forum.

Now, wait for the old man.

Wait till people atrst to get extra XP points as they go up the crafteing masteries. No one expects to get +14 points, but these people will get the equivalent of 10 million or more Experimentation points for "free". Tape prices will begin to drop in a few months. FInally.

Jedi will never be a starting profession...Looted items and quest items will never be better then crafted items, this is not a loot based game...CH will return shortly...CH and BE will not be back in game...Rangers are getting their revamp next!...The stealth system will not be changing in the spy expertise...Need any more examples of things the devs said that did not hold true?

the FS experimentation. does NOT increase the amount of experiments you get..

it functions in the exact same manner as a specialized city (research center for exp.. manufacturing center for assembly)

from what i've read on the jedi forums.. at th 4th box of each of the assembly/experimentation skilltrees.. the bonus you get is higher than you would a specialized city as well.. and that bonus does NOT stack with the city bonus according to data from testing..

but since EVERYONE doing the medical quest in phase 1 the second time get s the necklace.. they should be readily available pretty soon.. i already have a spare which was given to me by a doc who didn't have resources low enough quality to make fever packs..

she offered it to me.. i said keep it you can sell it for 5 mil.. she shrugged and said that she couldn't use it.. might as well give it to someone who could..

then i went and completed the quest myself.. and got a second one..

so there will be a couple floating around.. there's already one on eclipse auction board..

the best thing about the necklace though.. is that it's on a slot that you can't normally get a bonus to my knowledge.. so it's really +5 experimentation.. not a replacement for your current +3 belt for example..

Got my necklace, and a plant.

Wasn't too hard. All I needed was my regular high quality resources, and then a stack of grind metal and flora.

btw, for anyone wanting to do this, here are the percentages you need to experiment to in order to cure specific ailments. I found posted elsewhere on these boards:

These are approximate %'s:
3% = Fever
10% = Vomiting
20% = Open Sores
26% = Pus-filled Lesions
37% = Erratic Heart Rate
47% = Respiratory Failure
54% = Lost Vision
60% = Partial Paralysis
69% = Violent spasms
75% = Bloody Cough
83% = Swelling
91% = Internal Bleeding

texxie..

are you a Master Doc as well?? or at least have more medical experimentation than the 5 experiments with master medic??

i had some pretty decent resources 950 OQ / 700ish secondaries and was unable to craft swelling.. internal bleeding or bloody cough cures..

and i had novice doc for 6 experiments..

on a related note but definately off topic.. how would a master musician/dancer/id type with no medical skills complete this quest?? or a pure combat character?? i see persuasion (the branch unlocked) being useful for everyone equally.. but i don't see any way to avoid the hangup of needing to be master medic to even GET the quest
