One of my chars is a Rebel Commando, not many skillboxes yet, not a very powerful combatant to speak of. I decide to do a little PvP in Bestine. I show up there, I'm killing Imperial overts and having a good time, lots of fun fighting actually given that I was outgunned and outnumbered. Everyone was a good sport. Its the kind of PvP you love to see. No trash talking like little kiddies.

Then it happens, "You are poisoned". Im like.. dang... essentialy unhealable poison, given the rarity of doctors, game over, I dont feel like going and declaring again. So Im thinking about going to put some furnitures in my house. I alt-tab to look at a furniture price list, come up wiht an inventory of what i need, then I come back to my client expecting to see myself in the cloning facility.

I was still lying there incapped, I had been incapped 3 times. No deathblow. I asked the Combat Medic to please kill me I had to get to doing some things and thanked him for the fun fight he and his friends put up. He spewed some profanitys at me, general immature lameness. I manage to shuttle back to my hometown of Kadaara in between incaps. I shout for a doctor - None around, unfortunately it wasnt primetime. So I tried Theed... no doctors, which is unusual, but again it wasnt primetime. Iwas incapped again... and again... and again.. for half an hour AT LEAST.

Please Combat Medics, when it isnt a huge war situation, please be mindful of your poisons effects. It can rob a player of a lot of play time.

I know as a CommandoI try to be courteous about when I use my special, because it has a really nasty wounding DoT that can make someone spend quite a long time in the hospital recuperating.

But again, please ladies and gentlemen, I realize that PvP is a war, but we arent just Rebels and Imperials and Neuts, we are players who are here to have fun. Crawling all over the world trying to find a heal in between incaps for well over 30 minutes is not fun.

Thank you for your time.

As does spending a VERY small amount of your points on the second level of medic to get First Aid. I think most who plan PvP get first aid. You do not need a doctor to get rid of all poisons.

hmmm nevermind, that is only on bleeds. Ok so I have a question, if I hand them a poison cure pack can they cure their own poison if they have themed use skil? or does a doctor need to do it?

If nothing else this may motivate some more people to take Doc. Checks and balances built in.

Paneb I tried that several times.. For some reason it did not auto-DB me like I thought it would. Id LD myself, come back, and often times id be awake from incap then go incap again right away as soon as I logged in.

And anyone with the required Med Use skill can use a medicine. Its not based on "certifications" but a skill check. Unfortunately my Pharmacology IV doesnt give me enough, I dont think. I have invested considerable points into medic, im no stim-B dabbler, I use D's, and have half the medic tree.

A /killmyself action would be useful to kill my character when I am being griefed, though. Maybe the devs could put something like this in.

They have to have the doc skills to cure their own poisons and diseases.

So does being incapped 3 times within 10 minutes not work when poisoned?

It should, may have been a bug.

just do /quit next time, go check you email or something, thenrelogand wake up in the clone center. i was there and they tried to do that to me. i'm not sure if it works because i may have had my 3rd incap in 10 minutes anyway, but I wasn't about to sit there for 10 minutes waiting to getincapped over and over - I have other things to do. The person actually walked up to me and said they don't DB, sorry.

Is this another form of griefing? Well, I'm not going to be the judge of that, but I can tell you one thing - from now on I will definitely be more brutal with how I use my poisons and diseases.

The problem is with the TEF system. If you DB them the person just clones then comes back with a TEF against you.

Groups have gone to not DB'ing opponents because it is the only way to keep them out of the battle for any extended period of time.

Now if you get into a situation were someone camps a body and incaps everytime they get up, I would call that griefing.

3 in 10 = death no longer works on CM poisons due to the grace period added on poisons to prevent it from being instant 3 in 10 death

I do not like the solution implemented because now poisons now have griefing tool potential if not in prime time.

Once incapped by poison, you get a 3-5 min grace period in which the poison isn't hurting you. I suspect that the poison is 'stalled' in that it's not wearing off, but I haven't been able to determine this for sure.

This grace period assures that you will never get incapped 3x in 10 minutes. In order of preference now it's doc heal, mercy duel/db by friend and crawl to cantina waiting for master entertainers to wear it off.

I might be missing something here, and would be happy for the education if I am. But can someone tell me why these poisons need to last this long? I'm of the notion that duration should be 1/3 or so during PvP to ameloriate this.

well seeing as you are a novice commando i tend to think that CM had a rather nasty run-in with a flamethrower and it's lasting effect some time before and wanted a little bit of payback but i could be wrong.

Ah...the grace period. That explains it.

I take it no one thought of the griefing aspect before they implemented that idea.
