Thread: What hardships are you guys having?

I would like to get a thread going that helps each other advance in the game and have a good time. What I mean by this is trying to first determine what hardships we have when playing and then supporting posts by others to help those that need help. This thread should not include any bugs or class balancing issues, that is totally besides the point.

Let me give an example:

Problem Post: Soandso cant plant harvesters on Yavin to get the fiberplast needed to make those oh-so-good advanced dispersal mechanisms.

Answer Post: Take the Scout profession up to the Mask Scent ability, you will have an easier time navigating around the angry red mobs.

So, lets get this thread going and help each other out. I have been pretty successful as a Master CM and purveyor of fine medical supplies of both the CM and Doctor kind...but I keep hearing about how people are having alot of trouble making money or factioning or PvP'ing or healing their group or what not.

One thing that has been hard for me is keeping up on what good resources are on what planet, especially for all the advanced components. It is hard to find resources for sale, so I usually harvest my own. Through the swgcraft.com website a few of us on Lowca (I think all of us are CMs, but there may be a doc as well) set up a resource thread and have been e-mailing each other in game with waypoints of good resources. For example, dolovite iron finally showed itself on Lowca and I got a friendly e-mail from someone in the group. I highly recommend networking with your fellow CMs and docs for resources, we may even split up the advanced planets and have one person checking each of the resources there.

Both have player updated databases of resources for all planets/servers. Good place to go check and see what might be available.

Since my income is based on selling medical supplies, I have been able to find resource gatherers that hunt down good deposits and harvest the resources but they do not check the planets for which resource to mine. That part I do myself, pretty much. Some people dont know that if you pop onto a planet, you can check all resources that have spawned on the planet by just opening your survey tools from the starport. The listing shown in the survey tool will contain resources that can be mined on the planet, there are no "hidden" resources. What I do is hop to all the starting planets and search for the advanced component stuff every time I hear wind of a major resource shift.

Seems to me that most medical suppliers will have knowledge on the basic stuff and will gladly tell you the info freely if you ask nicely. They will at least have the info on the best organic, mineral, chemical, and water. For me, swgcraft.com is just a bit too slow on the updates and end up missing out near half of the life of the resource on the planet. Thats a great setup tho if you have other docs/CMs splitting off planets, definitely saves on travel time and expenses.

What else you guys got problems with?

I would like swgcraft if it was more current, not enough people verify resources. There are also no locations. I have to have my artisan friends take me out surveying in order to get places to put harvesters now.

Biggest hardship i face as a CM is I DONT HAVE THE MONEY TO BUY SUPPLYS.

If i sit around doing destroy missions all day making like 1k per mission but having to walk 1k just to do it.. well I get very mad and I dont want to play anymore. For me there is no real other way to make money. I dont have access to a Factory to mass produce stims w/ super low med use nor do I have the money to buy suppyls for more then my personal use :/

I had problems getting money before my friend gave me an ATST. Now I just solo missions on Endor for 22k a piece only 800 m away.

Hmm, I would try and get a non-CH pet and send it out to attack the mobs, then if you have some pistoleer skills, use disarm on the lair and hope you kill it. Missions on Dantooine are about 10k each and a bit easier. I think the key is getting a good pet/droid so they can take the attention away from you while you kill the lair and get the money. You can heal the pet since we are CM's, but I highly recommend moving up the Pistoleer tree as this has made my life easier. I may stop harvesting/surveying altogether now that I have about a million in the bank.

My problem is that the resources needed for the advanced poisons/diseases are not available on Scylla. I have six heavy harvesters waiting for them, just need a place to plop them down.

Hope this helps and I don't want to make it seem like I'm bragging or anything!

The wonders of not having a AT-ST to finish my missions for me.

Sorry. I wish there was a Edit button. I get very annoyed when a person, mainly a imperial talks, not brags, about having a AT-ST to do 20k missions for them and that they have nearly a million in the bank. Your not the first person to say this to me. It just really really really gets me down when i hear it.

Before the rebels disapered from out side of the Imp outpost on Dantooine, You could do missions easily the rebels attacked the creatures while you killed the lair, but they are gone now, but theres still ways to do missions on secondary planets with out problems, just got to know the creatures on the planets. My tip on Dantooine missions is do missions where you have to kill the Mokk or Janta people. 1 they dont run fast enought to catch you if you burst run, 2 they dont spawn out of their lair and they dont heal it, you may get incaped a few times but its an easy way to make 10k

I have waitied for 2 years for SOE to get it's act together and it hasn't.
They have forced me to destroy them, and I will.

Ooh, thats a good one. How do you other CMs make money if you dont sell medical supplies? I suppose you could make wound packs and rely on tips in the med center, but that is major boring **edit**.
