Thread: CM AOE Ignoring Line of sight is getting old.

Did I get owned by one? nope.

I have a master CM master Doc and it is ridiculous that in large fights all it comes down to is who has more CMs pumping out poison and desiease.

There is no effective counter to AOE poison, especially AOE mind poison, it is unballancing in PvP. Remove it or give doctors a viable counter. If a master CM can poison 20 people with one shot, a maste doctor should be able to cure 20 people with one hit.

And the line of sight bug, and yes it is 100% a bug, is just making base attack/defence stupid and pointless. If you throw an AOE poison on someone outside of a base, it will poison everyone within a 20m sphere, ignoring walls, dirt, and LOS.

That is stupid, and it needs to be fixed.

CMs need to be in the game, they need to be there to kill the people who play stupid aginst them. But right now, there is no way to play smart aginst a CM.

I totally agree rencon. It really does all come down to who has a combat medic, or who has more of them. One resolution I though of, is to give them on health and action poisons and diseases. Since doctor's can't buff mind, why should combat medics be able to specialize in destroying it?

I think everything should have a counter in PvP (+ PvE) and I think maybe a short range area poison/disease cure (6m) for doctors could do the trick.

BUT would everyone please understand that poison would not even be a topic if MIND could be healed? Mind damage is the problem, other pools can be buffed and healed. Many profession have mind attacks + in PvE you get hit in the mind pool all the time so it all comes down to how much mind pool you have... so to counter mind damage there should be a mind heal... OR mind shouldnt incap.

Mind poison makesnearly every person'smind go poof in a group. <----- caused by CMs

Mind damage can be healed. <------ only by CMs

So pretty much any large battle throws out the abilities of good players, and comes down to who has more/smarter CMs. Quite odd that the most annoying profession in the game is the most pivotal.

Can't wait to hear all the CMs come in and flame while holding onto their precious 500+ damage per tick area mind poisons.

If you want to talk about stupid things in the game how about brawlers being able to hit you at 20m now thats FAR more stupid that any thing a combat medic can do. Meele attacks should be limited to 2m at best.

Again, not here to Flame just point out the obvious:

This one is to Flame:

Why is it that the PVPer's are the ones complaining about NERFING and they make up the smallest population in the game?---and it seems they get thier way.

Just because doctor's don't buff mind stats doesn't mean that they can't be. This is the realm of Dancers/Musicians/Chefs/Smugglers. Also, by your same logic why should rifleman be able to 'specialize' in destoying mind?

Well two things here -- I'd have to disagree with you that the only way to defend a base, or even the best way, is to to do it from inside the base.

That said, I agree that poison and disease should not go through the closed door of a base. On the other hand, I don't think it should have anything to do with LOS, because of the obvious nature of the weapons

1. Poison resistance built into armor (as already discussed)

2. Friendly fire (including on yourself) on all AOE effects

Seriously, if you don't think that poison and disease should be limited due to the nature of the weapon, then they should start putting in blaster projectile ricochets, as well as a fire attack that disregards line of sight as well. The same with Grenades. As a Master WS, I'd sell alot more if my thermal detonators had the same threat effect as they did in Return of the Jedi. Toss 6 into a base, and boom. Kill everyone inside. Proton grenades? Oh my god.

I don't pvp a whole lot, but I've had to defend my city's faction headquarters a few times, and AE poison is severely unbalanced. It's not really the fact that it's ae, its the fact that it hits Mind, and it can incap a person..or many people, 3 times, without doing any other damage. As a Zabrak, i had 6k ham, 3k action, quickness, strength, con, etc. (from buff stacking bug. wasn't intentional). And I have a base 1000 mind. I used a muon, and had 1500 mind. A combat medic throws an AE poison outside the base, and i'm at the very bottom of the base. In less than 30 seconds, I'm mind incapped. That's even when using vitalize. and Equilibrium. I got back up after about 60 seconds or so. Was incapped again 10 seconds later. I had to get into a quick duel when i got up, and feigned..so I wouldn't die from disease. I was able to get a cure eventually.

But about 5 minutes after I was cured, we got AE poisoned again. My other HAM is buffed to the max, no damage at all, but my mind? Continuous incaps. It needs to be fixed.
