Test center is down for about 90 minutes while we update it. This update contains two parts.

Update going to Live tomorrow morning:

- Increased the rate of loot drops.
- Corrected a problem on the server that would result in invalid resources occasionally being generated.
- Fixed /eject, such that it only works with player structures.
- Changed medic XP such that you no longer get XP for healing pets.
- Fixed a problem where players could apply a bleeding shot to droids.
- Fixed a problem where a server would run very slow on startup.
- Fixed a crash in the database server.
- Fixed a problem where you could dupe crafting components.
- Fixed an exploit where you could gain unlimited creature handler XP.

Changes for TC only (will go to Live with the rest of the correspondent changes):
- Fixed a knockdown exploit that made some encounters very easy.
- Fixed an issue that caused pets to be lost when transferred to a droid.
- /denyService should work correctly now.
- Corrected a problem with /tellpet.
- Combat medics must now have Line of Sight to use poisons.

The pet healing change is going to seriously reduce medical XP overall, which is probably a good thing.

What do you think, does no LOS fix the poison issues?

I just read that and came over here. Not a CM myself but know several. I think it should stop the crying greatly. Yet someone will always cry

sad thing is taking out LOS will just make defense unbreakable now...

defensive positions will be untakable...

anyone protecting the exit of a star port...will basically be able to pin a superior number of people inside it...

SOE definately needs to figure out what it wants pvp to be...

mind poison will still own pvp...

The pet thing is a good change (though it will severely impact me as that was my primary source of medical exp and I'm far from master still). Basically, it bypassed the "no exp for healing myself" by just shifting the healing to your own pet. I would prefer if you continued to get exp for healing someone else's pet, just not your own, but oh well. Time for some AOE cantina heals I guess.

I'm not sure the the LOS thing is the permament fix. If it is, it's trouble since a CM will get blasted at 64m generally and may not get within range to use a poison. I guess there are still good opportunities to use terrain to keep out of the enemy's LOS until you can pop into LOS already in range, but it will still be tougher.

The reason I say that this LOS may not be the permament fix is because from a development point of view, tturning on LOS may be a significantly easier change than figuring out if the target is inside a building that is immune. They already do LOS checks for most weapons, but there is no "are they in a cantina?" checks. And if they are in the doorway of the medical center, but in LOS, are they targetable or not? Simply doing LOS is much, much simpler. Probably wishful thinking on my part.

All I wanna know is, how come they ask everyone else for their feedback on stuff (like the T21 thing, for example) but not us?

I think that this will actually multiply the number of people crying exploit. AE poisons will still hit people through walls, there is no mention of disease not being able to hit through walls...so that still might be a cell breaker(if they ever get it right).

And I agree with Zarlor about the lack of correspondence with the developers/designers that the medical classes are receiving.

Elenora? YOU'RE commenting in here? And in a negative way? You got your wish. All we can do is be a support class now.

You say that Mind Poison will still own PvP. This is only moderately true. The fact of the matter is that the CM is now solely a Kamikaze class. One poison, and they'll invariably pop you. That's what happens invariably every time I try to poison without Line of Sight. PvP was stupid as it was, now it's just going to be people complaining that CMs mind poison them and they can't get rid of it. So that will be 'fixed' eventually as well, because them staying poisoned after they kill us is unfair.

And yes, you're right. Decent formations WILL be unbreakable now. Instead of having a decent strategy to use, or FORCING PEOPLE TO GET AWAY FROM WALLS WHERE A CM MAY BE HIDING, something ELSE becomes broken. And not only that, now we can't heal effectively. The main reason I use ranged stims over normal stims is not always so much distance as for the fact that a knee-high rock 'blocks' sight.

And, goody goody, we can't even use Poison from the roofs of med centers or over low-height town walls now, which, as far as I was aware, was the point of the class design in the first place.

If you're violently lying to me, Plasticboy, I would be thrilled, but I have the feeling that you're not. It looks like the sole interesting PvP class is now just more deadweight. Oh well, now I know which of my classes to drop for a more interesting combat class.

Also, I really hope this sounds like I'm throwing a tantrum, because I am. This is the worst possible 'fix' to the class, and will make them almost as trashy as they were before the large patch, both in healing and poison. Instead of dealing with mind damage in general, or maybe more creative solutions to the problem, they just rip the class apart and call it good.

I'm glad the game is balanced now, so that a low-level marksman will be able to take out a Master Combat class again. Good for us.

I seriously doubt they only fixed the Poison code. I'd be less enraged if they did, as it would only remove our PvP usefulness instead of our moderate PvE usefulness. It would be easier to jus tlook at the 'throwing medicine' code, which all uses the same animation, and thus, I would imagine, the same code, and take out that Line of Sight part.

And what the hell's up with making pets give no healing exp, while we're at it? Are the developers even moderately thinking about the classes they're working with? Evidently not...

ManElenora. Wasn't that what everyone who was against the CM nerf was saying???

If you make poisions LOS they're just another bleed.

Well, you got your wish, and now you show up lamenting the fact that nobody will be able to break sieges, or get people out of bases?

my choice would have been lower mind damage...but this works just as well...

honestly I have always been a defender of non-Los and its important tactical uses...

my #1 choice would be keep non-LOS and lower just the mind poison 50%

but heck the move by SOE doesnt really surprise me...

they have shown over and over they have no idea about whats going on in the game...

im just gonna have to throw disease and just make everyone sit and heal in the med center
